Saturday 9.

Well, folks, woke up to more snow. I know most of you were following on FB, I did have to go out and about for research for my final paper and I did have work yesterday afternoon at the museum--and let me tell you, the weather was just miserable.  AND the heat was not working at the museum. It was so cold and bitter...winds were around upwards of 50 mph...You can read some of it here--although we are about an hour- hour and half south of there. We are 80 miles from Buffalo and 50 Miles from Rochester and an hour from the PA border. We still get Lake Effect off of Erie and Ontario though, even down here in the valley... anyways...onwards.

Oh, just to let you know, I did answer all your comments from yesterday.

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) The action begins when a letter falls out of the pocket of a brown overcoat. What color is your coat?

Well, I have several coats...but I do wear this, a women's Carhartt in Pink--I am just to lazy to go out in the hallway to take a photo. When we first moved here, we invested in good winter coats. This coat is super heavy. By the time you get "dressed" (gloves, hat, etc.) you can't move.

2) The lyrics ask if it "kinda strikes you sad when you hear our song." We don't want to be sad this Saturday, so we're asking what song makes you happy.

Happy by Pharell Williams

3) Right before this song hit the charts, Donna Summer hit the cover of Newsweek. Are there any magazines in your home now? If yes, who is on the cover?

Hmm... some farm magazines that has land, cows, chickens etc. and even farm equipment. grin--because I just can't help myself. LOL

4) Donna wrote the lyrics to this song, while producer Giorgio Moroder wrote the tune. Moroder is known as "the father of disco." Is disco a genre you enjoy?

Yes. Not all of it, but I do like the Bee Gees and Donna Summer.

5) This song got additional airplay throughout the 1980s because the game show The Price Is Right played it every time a contestant won a stereo. Today, the most popular audio equipment sold at Best Buy is a sound bar to improve the quality of TV audio. Have you added a sound bar or sound system to your TV?

Umm...yeah...that would be in the "man" department aka husband.

6) Moroder has won two Academy Awards for Best Song. The first was for "Flashdance ... What a Feeling" from Flashdance and the second was for "Take My Breath Away" from Top Gun. Do you  have a favorite movie soundtrack?

Hmm...don't think so.

7) He grew up in Ortsei, Italy. Located in Northern Italy, the Ortsei economy is fueled by tourists who ski in winter, hike in summer and shop for woodcarvings all year around. Do out-of-towners find their way to your hometown more often in summer or winter?

HA! Bahwahahaha, Hornell only has 9,000 souls period. We do have two colleges nearby that help with our economy (we only have a small Walmart)...but we are pretty much "country" and not big city. The surrounding Finger Lakes get all the summer business.

8) Kourtney Kardashian was born in 1979, the year this record was a hit. Keeping Up with the Kardashians has been on since 2007. Have you ever seen it?

Who?

9) Random question -- When getting dressed in the morning, what's the second item of clothing you put on?

Umm...clothes, LOL.

Throwing snowballs. Have a great day, friends.

Trust me, I sound just like her! 😊

Look at that album cover. So ladylike. I mean the dress and simple heels.

  4. Chuckling … great answers to those last two! Fun questions this week, weren't they? Gosh, your winter coat (etc.) sounds like my weighted blanket. Try and keep warm, OK?

  5. Cold here today but not a piece of snow in sight this winter yet. I hope they get that heat fixed. Do you go back there again? Stay as warm as you can. Not easy up there.

  8. Your weather sounds a little much for me. I could handle that like once a year, but it goes on all winter for you all. It is in the 60's here today and sunny.
So, none of us were fans of the Kardashians. Not sure how they are still on. hahahaha Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend!

  9. We would be in trouble without our coats, right?
    No Kardashians for us either!

  10. What are you studying in school? I am taking an online study of the Bible through the year and it feels like a college course! Lots of reading, notes, word studies and character breakdowns. I am enjoying it, but I can't sit for long periods of time. I hope the cold weather does not last long.
