Brrrrrrrr Sunday Salon

Brrrrrrrrrr Sunday Salon. I decided not to do the Sunday Stealing post...I am afraid you might not of liked my answers, LOL.

Time: 8:15 am on a cold Sunday Morning

Scene: 15* real feel is 6* and we are under another winter advisory. Expecting a winter storm between this afternoon and thru Tuesday.

Drinking: My first cup of

with Italian Sweet Cream.

What's on tap for today? Change of plans. I did our taxes yesterday before heading into work. We saw this weather advisory and decided today we needed to make a trip to the Super Walmart in Geneseo and get supplies. BTW, Supplies are dwindling in the stores here. I don't know how it is near you, but here, once again, shelves are empty. Hey, still no ammo anywhere. Just saying.

Pondering...you know, I just wonder about some folks...their rudeness and such show no boundaries. Most days I think; "Just let it go, Linda, let. it. go." I am sure my fellow employees think I am nuts, one asked me last night, "Are you ok? Having convulsions?" he was being silly. Gotta' get that bad juju off of me. Just saying.

What's for dinner? Honestly, craving a hamburger and a Frosty from Wendy's. So, we prob. will stop there.

Absolutely! Have a great day friends...and thank you for the continuing emails and comments here...

Your Weather Report

For my southern friends, here is your weather report. And yes, a picture says a thousands words (or something like that).

...and more than likely, this weather pattern will remain until late April to mid May.

Nothing else to report. Work later today until 10pm, off tomorrow, will be working on taxes tomorrow. That is about it for here.

Meme Filled Wednesday

Again, falling behind...anyways...how about a meme filled Wednesday?

Lets rejoice today! Thanks Ann!

1. What makes you rejoice the most?

My husband and son. Every.single.day. That and waking up to have another day to get it "right".

2. What song makes you feel joyful or happy?

Not just one song or genre or music--it all depends on my attitude. But the one song that does make me smile is Victory in Jesus.

3. Do sounds of nature give you a joyous feeling?

Sure does.

4. How about holidays? Do you really rejoice or just kind of show up?

Really rejoice. I really don't understand folks who have such sour attitudes. There is no need for such sorrow or hate towards the holidays. Rejoice people!

1. Have you done more binge watching this past year than in 'normal' years? Any plans to break that habit in 2021? Tell us one or two shows you binged last year that you really liked.

I really binge watch Maine Cabin Masters. The folks seems so down to Earth. Nope, no plans of breaking that habit.

2. January 26th is Australia Day. Have you ever visited or lived in Australia?

Nope. But I do watcha new tv show called Grand Design. LOVE IT!

Have you ever tasted Vegemite, and if so what did you think?

Yes and no thank you.

Is a trip down under on your bucket list?

Nope, I refuse to get the Covid Vaccine, so no traveling for me, no thank you.

We answered a question about travel three months ago (the October 21st Hodgepodge), but let's revisit now...where are you when it comes to planning or even imagining travel this year?

By car, but my husband seems to think there will be travel checkpoints because they will require every single American to get a Covid vaccine...so...anyways...traveling south at some point.

3. Something that zaps your energy?

Ohhhhh where to begin? MSM, Social  Media, our current government/nonsense, liars, thieves, no do gooders, unhappy folks, etc.

Something that energizes you?

Happy people, babies, happy Jesus/fellow Christians loving people, chocolate, coffee, etc.

4. On a scale of 1-10 what are your eating habits like these days? (1=all junk food all the time and 10= juicing every green thing in the frig)

In between. I eat yogurt everyday to help balance the bad icky stuff in ones guts (how's that for icky? lol) I don't pretend to be a health nut, because I am not. I see women carrying around their green goo AND I have to ask "WHY? WHY ARE YOU PRETENDING ITS GOOD?" Just saying.

Healthiest meal you've eaten in the last week or so?

I don't know if its healthiest or healthy, but since I work everyday hubby makes dinner and last night it was spaghetti and meatballs. It was really good or the very fact I was hungry--due to the fact my lunch was early at 11, lol.

5. What's your most often 'Back in my day....' thing to say?

Back in the day we had Patriotism and Nationalism, which is really lacking today.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

27* and real feel  is 16*. We had a winter ice storm plow through yesterday and last night. Its not nice out at all. Hubby has physical therapy at 11 (shoulder issues) and I told him I was staying in pj's today--no other family members allowed anyways. So, that's that.

tomorrow is Hat Day and games day at work,  yep Hat Day and Games day (employees will partake in game playing). We can wear hats---I am looking forward to it, well, I wear a hat anyways, due to the extreme cold, but you know how flat hair is...anyways...Hat Day. My employer is trying new things to get the sorrowful moods up/moral up. Yesterday was wear yellow, today is wear purple for chocolate cake day (off today), I shall refrain furthur. lol---hey majority of employees are not partaking, me, I joyfully partake in the events.

Sunday Salon

How did it become Sunday? Where did the week go? Yep, I have fallen behind yet again in visiting and commenting...so sorry. In regards to work, new guidelines and such came down on Friday. I am not at liberty to discuss it yet; 'we' have 15 days/ 2 weeks to comply and set things into motion, so so speak.

Time: 9:20 am

Scene: Hey the sun is peeking thru! 18* and bitter cold.

Drinking: My second cup of Breakfast in the Finger Lakes with Italian Sweet Cream.

On tap for today: Hubby made an awesome pot of chili last night, had some when I got home from work last night. So, prob. leftovers. We do have to head over to my employer to pick up prescriptions, plus they have a sale on winter jackets/clothes. I hesitate, because aren't we moving south at some point? What do we need another winter jacket/ clothes for? Ok, better leave it at that. grin

Pondering: The new changes coming down the pike. If y'all think the Covid vaccinations are the end all be all--your wrong. Period.

Pondering #2:

I am trying...truly I am.

Pondering #3:

Pondering #4

Pondering #5:

...so, keep the Faith my fellow Christian (s).

Laying Low and Tuesday Meme...

 First, my thoughts and thank you for the previous comments. Between work and things going on here and the very fact I have been spending the last few days politically "laying" low... So here goes;

The Biden/Harris administration is going to be as horrifying as the Obama years. I see a cashless society, our right to self preservation will be removed, pro abortion, Females will be replaced by ladyboys, the filthy rich will get richer and us middle aged white people will be counted amongst the enemy of the people, anti American and pro China, censorship rules the day, Impeachment of a former President (which brings me to a thought, is Trump really a former President? How can you impeach and convict a "former" anything? You can't, actually Art. 2 Sec. 4 of the Constitution states this) and many alternative realities and so on. Which also brings me to a startling thought; are we the American people being played?
I am NOT amused. Very scary. The devil is walking among us, stay strong my fellow Christian(s). Stay strong.

Tuesday 4 where we honor the memory of our friend Toni Taddeo by continuing her 4 questions each week meme! Apologies for being really late to the party, smiles.

Let's talk about work!

1. What kind of work does not bother you at all?

I like housework. So, that really doesn't bother me.

2. What kinds of work do bother you and why?

My better half says we are going to buy some land down south and build our home. Yeah, nope...me Jane will not be doing that. I know my limits and that is one of them. I have no desire to do that again, nope. I told Tarzan if him and Boy Tarzan want to go down and do it, fine, I'll come in at the end. LOL

3. Is there a job you've had you loathed or  perhaps one you loved? Why was that?

Everyone knows I love kids and teaching. Everyone knows I loathe construction, fixing cars etc. So, yeah...no physical labor. LOL

4. Do you have a job or kind of work you wish you were doing? What would make it attractive to you?

I have always said to just stick me in a library and or museum and I can survive just fine there. Grin---alias, with these shutdowns here in NY that won't be happening anytime soon.

Hodgepodging...

Traveling through the Hodgepodge today...did I miss the Tuesday Meme? I will have to look it up.

1. What's something we'd find you doing most afternoons?

Most afternoons with the exception of Wed. and Sundays will find me at work until 3:30. But after that, you will find me sitting on the couch maybe looking at the inside of my eyeballs, LOL.

2. Who do you take after? In what way(s)?

Both my parents; Looks my dad, attitude and mannerisms my mom.

3. 'After every storm comes a rainbow' or 'the calm before the storm'...which phrase do you relate to more right now? Tell us why?

Calm before the storm...70+million Americans are ticked...and I am hoping for a rainbow.

4.What are your plans for the day after tomorrow?

Friday? I get off work at 1:30. Another afternoon of looking at the inside of my eyeballs. LOL

5. Complete this sentence-"After all is said and done... God is still in control."

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Good By Mr. President and Mrs. Trump, our family will miss you (off goes the TV, we shall not watch the falseness of this day).

I will leave you with a visual/ a painting of George Washington and a thought from his Thanksgiving prayer of 1789;

"Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me "to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness..."

Currently...

Linking back to Stacy...I wasn't really feeling the Saturday 9.

P.S. To answer a question I think by Robin: As much land as we can get, lol.

Currently in Hornell, NY...abbreviated version, grin

Weather: 34 and cloudy, been pouring rain all night. Looks like snow will be moving in sooner than later.

I'm listening to: The furnace kick on and hubby giving me the specs on the car I bought. Yep...heard that right.

It's Shocking...but my 11 year old SUV left me stranded. Not really shocking; the transmission module went and it was too expensive to fix (might as well get a new car) and so that is what I did.

I'm staying away...from political discussions right now...I think its safe to say the majority of my friends and readers are pro Constitution and do not support the goings on right now in DC OR Social Media.

Celebrating: here it is my new car

2018 AWD 4X4 7 passenger Nissan Pathfinder. With bells and whistles, push a button start the car.

Today's Plan: Work at 3:30-10. Off tomorrow.

Final Thoughts: So, the good Lord had a different plan. Short end of the story, spent 3 hrs. at the dealership and walked away with a sweet ride. Unfort. my rainy day aka moving fund is now depleted. And for the first time ever, I have something in my name only and responsible for paying back. I have spent the last 40 or so years keeping clean, not running up debt or whatever. I say "I" because I didn't need for my husband to sign anything, input or back whatever. That is a pretty powerful thing, not that I ever thought of myself as a feminist or anything, just keeping it real.

Hodgepodging...Keeping it Real

Day off, so finding time to Hodgepodge on this cold Wednesday morning.

P.S. thought I would answer comments here:

--the car issue is in a transmission module-like a needle in a haystack trying to find it.

---I think Robin, that house was/is in Virginia.

----HA on Cuomo opening. You should see his State of the State and his demands.

1. When were you last a guest at an event or in someone's home? Tell us about it. Do you enjoy having guests in your own home?

A couple of weeks ago. After Christmas Party we were at our nephews AJ and is wife's home over in  Howard. That's them in the background (he has a Buffalo Bills sweater on). We love having folks over.

2. What has you 'tied up in knots' currently or recently?

'tied up in knots' work/my job. Hard to explain, but something is going on and its not good.

Are you any good at tying actual knots?

I am really good at tying knots and untying knots.

3. What's something you've been wanting to do and have decided 2021 will be the year you 'take the plunge'?

I thought it would be the teaching job...and moving...but who knows...just sort of waiting things/Gvt issues out to see how they will play out.

4. Something in your home that's old?

I prefer the phrase lived in to something old. lol

Something new? Something borrowed? Something blue?

Nothing blue in my house or borrowed. Hubby did buy a kerosene heater.

5. Share a favorite quote, a verse of scripture, and/or a bit of wisdom for couples getting married in this challenging and seemingly unpredictable season we're currently/still experiencing.

something I quite haven't totally embraced...just keeping it real.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

So, we have many many dear friends who want us to move back to Alabama, they have taken it upon themselves to send house listings. It's quite amusing, actually. I keep telling them NO, neither of us want the extreme weather that living in the south brings. -hubby said, "I thought you said NO on moving back? (now its 'me' aka Linda saying no, so funny)." I know our son would be much happier living back south (This from the boy wonder; "So, you know I was bred and born in the south, right? This northern stuff (politics) is for the birds." Me--nothing is stopping you from moving.) It just would seem like we would be going backwards, if that makes any sense. Then the husband, "Sometime you have to go backwards to go forwards." So, are you wanting to move back to Alabama? I never got an answer...no, wait, I got, "If you can find some farm land and not where we were living before and oh yeah, can you transfer. " So we keep going back and forth. I'll tell you, between friends and the big unknown. So, there we have it, WHO KNOWS. Wonderful friends in Alabama and Georgia ((wink wink Sparky)) who are keeping on us to get out of NY and move back to our roots. There is a man at work and everyday he goes, "So, tell me Alabama, when you going back? You don't belong here." I can't find a fitting nickname for him...you know, maybe because his name is Noah. Funny, he calls me Alabama because I talk funny. Maybe I just don't "belong" anywhere's.

You know, on second thought, just find me an island somewhere and I'll be just fine. lol

Tuesday 4

Annie had tech. difficulties...nonetheless, here we go...

My Dreams ~ Try Using Photos!

1.   My dream house is?

2.   My dream car is?

3.   My dream vacation is?

Money no object; 5 star hotels, travel Europe OR get in a RV and travel America.

4.   My dream life is?

On a farm like above.

So, never took that drive...had a car issue...it will go in the shop on Thursday. And, with our King governor speaking yesterday giving a State of the State all I have to say is this:

That's southern slag by the way. LOL

Brrrrrr Sunday Salon

Good Morning from a cold Western NY. I hope this post finds each of you in good spirits.

Time: 7:45 am

Scene: 26* and cloudy.

Drinking: first cup of Breakfast in the Finger Lakes with Italian Cream.

Listening to: Hubby asking me where I wanted to go today on my day off. Don't know, how about we just jump in the car and go is what I said.

Reading: nothing in particular.

Pondering: Just jumping in the car and going for a drive. Roads are clear, no snow or ice, so why not. At some point I/we do have to find ourselves at the grocery store.

My Thoughts...

So, most of you know my feelings about what happened on Wednesday to regards of the so called "Insurrection" of the Capitol. No sense in rehashing...but...let me say, it has been a very difficult 24 hrs - 48 hrs thanks to name calling from direct family (brothers, cousins, parents etc.)...the good Lord has commanded me my 2021 Word

Long before this happened.

I will not ever apologize for taking Patriotism over Antifa, BLM, those yahoos in Congress and the Senate (both sides). Personally, the two party system is dead. There are 79 million disenfranchised voters, I am one of them. I.am. NO. Traitor-unlike those in the SWAMP and who support the Swampers, Men and Women lawmakers. Shameful.

So, where we do go from here? I don't know...I am at a lost of words. Borrowing / paraphrasing from blog friend Joseph Farrell, "I feel like I am no longer a citizen and I am in exile living in a foreign land because most of things I hold dear culturally are far from the minds of those who are in DC/The Swamp...I do know anyway forward must take a honest, straightforward, moral search of the foundations of this country because no progress can be made until then."

Personally, as flawed as the men who wrote this document were, perhaps we all ought to re read and understand it better. Keep us Constitutional Scholars and Alternative news folks in prayer, we will need it. Until next time...

Tuesday 4 on a Wednesday

Good morning friends. I hope this post finds each you in good spirits. In honor of Toni, Ann has a repost.

A Repeat ~ Just Wondering

1.   When was the last time you tried something new"

New? Like food or whatever? I am not sure...I am willing and ready to move and have adventure, but that is another story for another day.  So, I will say; packing up house 7 years ago from Alabama and moving here to western NY and to where I thought I would retire and die (just keeping it real). I no longer have that like for this state; Covid Commie Cuomo has stolen that joy. Sad, but I am keeping it real.

2.   Who in your family do you compare yourself to?

Let's just say, I know whom I don't want to be like. I do carry my some of my parents traits.

3.   What lesson in life did you learn the hard way?

Be yourself. Period. Never ever put on airs and be something your not.

4.   What can you do today that you weren't able to do before?

Today as in Wednesday? (being silly)---day off from work. Probably going to head up to Geneseo to the thrift store and possibly the Super Walmart--I KNOW--DON'T JUDGE. LOLOLOL. I'm emotionally tired, I probably ought to leave it at that.

Photo Overload Sunday Salon

 Please excuse the bragging...

Time: 8:42 am

Scene: 34*, real feel is 28*, cloudy and under another winter weather advisory.

Drinking: My first cup of

with Italian Sweet Cream

What's going on today:

Day off from work. Will make homemade mac and cheese to go with the leftover ham.

Pondering: here comes the photo overload

Through the 20+ years we have stay connected and stayed friends with Sparky and Steve in Georgia. They even came over to Alabama to visit us when we had the farm house. They are salt of the Earth folks and we love each other unconditionally. ANYWAYS...their long suffering lost package from Dec. 2 finally arrived yesterday. Actually, Sparky IM'ed me and goes in something in affect, "Your package is at the front door"--huh? I was so elated---and forgot to take a photo of the large box, plus I was heading out to work...anyways...

All kinds of treats; Tea, Blueberry Coffee (can't wait to try that! She knows me so well! Blueberry is my favorite kind of treat, grin), dog treats--well, you know, our German Shep. is human (lol), and this

It was broken, so hubby spent some time fixing the ornaments and such.

he said to tell Sparky and Steve he did the best he could and it might not be perfect the way she made it, but to tell them Thank you for the remembrance of Sweet Home Alabama. You see, we just don't have huge pine cones, or any pine cones where we currently live.

Actually before we left, I filled a basket full of pine cones, silly I know. Please excuse the darkness of the photos. I took them with my Tablet and not the phone.

yes, it sure does. Thank you Sparky and Steve. You can head over to their blog to see what we sent them. I will leave this post here. Hope each of you have a lovely day.
