🦇 Happy Halloween🎃

Good morning from a nippy central Florida (45*). I know a lot of you don't celebrate Halloween...but I am just going to say it:

It has been a long week...today's ensemble thanks to it being quite chilly and it is only supposed to be 60* today (quit laughing, that is cold! lol)

Jeans and Hey Dudes. Ultra comfy.

And a sweatshirt that has pumpkins and it says Hey Y'all its Fall. And Jack Skellington earrings from the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I don't normally wear dangly earrings, and I only bring them out on Halloween.

Wishing you all a beautiful day, stay safe.

Falling Behind...

Good morning from a "chilly"(51*) central Florida.

It has been a week, that is for sure. With covering for a coworker and now I am back (today) to my regularly scheduled time, although going in late due to a Master Roster Count and not leaving until an hour later. That was a 13-hour workday...and the bossman & I were pretty mentally ill by then. ANYWAYS, I have not had time to post or even visit...

Today's outfit; khaki capris, leopard flats, black 3/4 blouse. That's all I got folks...running on low or near empty.

Cookie? Someone say cookie? Sure.

Have a great day all!!!

So, I also did a "Thing"...

Good morning. I hope this post finds each of you in great spirits.

So, I also did a "thing". After a few test drives of various vehicles, including a brand-new Ford Bronco and Mavrick which I loved...I traded in my Surfer Girl 2017 Hyundai Tucson aka "BeeBee".

To a beautiful Sage Green 2023 Santa Cruz. Sage Green isn't as fancy of a name as Surfer Girl--but she is a beauty.

Unnamed as of yet. It only has 24,000 miles and still has the full warranty.

And I absolutely adore this vehicle/truck. I immediately took it over to show my dad because he wants one and we took a drive around the neighborhood. I really had no plans whatsoever to trade, none...Why the trade in? Well, I always wanted a Santa Cruz, and my car was starting to have some issues like the AC was coming and going--the payment isn't much more than I was paying etc.

Ugh, it sure is...and I am not looking forward to this week at all. Back to 7-3 and in Alpha cell block and all the drama that brings. That is all I have for this Sunday morning, which is probably more than enough talk. Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Currently Saturday...

Good morning, another warm one on tap...not as humid, but still warm.

Time: 6:45 am... actually been up since 5 or so. The dog needed to go out and bark. LOL

Weather at 6:45 am: 61* and clear. It will be in the mid 80's today. The sun hasn't quite come up yet.

Read:

I actually sat on the couch last Sunday and read the whole book. Delightful.

Watched: What did we watch last night? Thinking...oh...Jesse Waters and then I went to bed. It was a stressful day.

Listening: Nothing really. All quiet (the dog is back in, so no barking).

Commence to UGH: Hubby did a "thing" yesterday and traded his 2019 Nissan Pathfinder SUV in:

for 2023 truck. He had been talking about it for a while now. So, he did it. Sigh. Now today, he wants to go trade my SUV in. He said and I quote, "You gotta get the Camaro out of your system. So, I made an appointment for you to go drive one." Interest rates have dropped radically, and he wants to take advantage of it. ANYWAYS, no new increase in payment etc. So, he went for it. Still under full warranty etc.

Feeling:

The husband is sitting in his truck, under the carport, setting his phone up / truck syncing it and calling me every few minutes, like a child with a new toy. Hence UGH.

Wondering about yesterday? Why do I do the things I do? Alot of you commented on that--why do we constantly cover for an employee/coworker who seemingly can't get her stuff together? And I am afraid, I have no answer. The bossman and I were discussing this yesterday. There really is no answer. Long story short, as soon as I walked into Alpha Cellblock, I was told by an officer the bossman has been sitting there since 5:30 am, waiting (oh snap, that is not good). Walked into the room and there she (coworker who made this mess) was, the bossman and another coworker (who I share an office with) and 2 inmate aides and he said, "Ms. Conley we are at your disposal." Yikes. He was pissed, not at me, but at the situation. Needless to say, I walked out of there by noon, and the situation was fixed. I thanked him profusely for the help he had given me. The coworker will be dealt with when she comes back after surgery. He was really pissed to not deal with it right then and there and I might had offered my 2 cents on that ... and yes, the situation was that bad.

Grateful...for so many things...common sense...funny, I might had mentioned to him/bossman "I sure can fix others' problems, but not my own." He about fell out of his chair he was laughing so hard.

Giggling:

or an inmate. Just saying. Every.single.day. I try so hard to be good, honest.

People are always asking me what's in my pink thermos---I say, "Bug juice." (aka Vodka)---I have folks thoroughly convinced that is true, LOL. In all honestly, I stop at the canteen every morning and get ice, water and add those drops/water additive--I use pineapple.

Ok, I better stop...have a great day all.

The "Fixer" is in the house...

Good morning, a tad bit cool this morning, and today's high is only projected at 77*. Nonetheless, I'll just get on with the post.

To make a very long short, the "Fixer" is in the house. We have an Operational Review coming up next week and we have known this for weeks. My classes have been cancelled today so I can go handle an issue in one of the cell blocks. It seems a fellow coworker has NOT been keeping her files in order etc. They started pulling files yesterday...and well, guess who has to go fix it?  All 150 files. The bossman is spitting mad, an understatement. That's what I do, that is my job (fix things) ...and it has gotten a little UGH/ARGH regarding this one coworker. So, yeah, the "Fixer" is in the house...not trying to be ghetto, but there you go.😉

I told the bossman he might want to keep her out of her office while I am there. I can no longer keep my big mouth shut. He gave me that look again, I doubled over in laughter. He kicked me out of his office. LOLOLOL

ANYWAYS...thank you all for being kind regarding my daily clothes posts. Today's photo is brought to you by Harley Davidson:

Long sleeve Harley Davidson pullover racing shirt since the cell block is freezing cold and I will need to bring a jacket too.

dark jeans, pink and gray Skechers. Since I will be on my feet all day (actually, when am I not). On a bright note:

Thank you, Lord Jesus...now, to make it through next week during the OP Review--make it out alive. That sounded over dramatic.🙄😊

Behaving is overrated...

Good morning, another warm one on tap.

You all would be happy to know I have been working very hard to behave at work...that is until yesterday...actually the last couple of days were leading up to an issue. I will not tolerate anyone cursing me out, period. I had to call for backup as she was way out of line. I am pretty sure Front Support thought I was joking when I called--because I never call for help, never ever never ever. Then it got quiet and the officer said," The captain is on his way, stay locked in your room." (because I asked for the captain)--The behavior of these 'guests of the state' has been just something else lately...What is wrong with these people? It's mindboggling, truly. P.S. Yes, she was put in confinement if you're wondering.

Today's clothes: Striped blue pullover and blue capris.

Thank the Lord Jesus...just saying. Oh, and the bossman told me I need to behave. Why? It's overrated. Yes, I did say that. He gave me the look, lol.

Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Hodgepodging...

Good morning. Can you believe its Wednesday already? Thanks, Joyce, for the Meme.

1. What do you like most about your family?

Sigh...well, my family consists of my husband. Since I /we / they don't have much to do with us...so, anyways, the husband makes me laugh. He definitely makes want to come home and I hope you understand what I am saying, he makes it safe, clean, can cook, etc. He is a keeper, and I always tease him, because it must be nice to be retired. I know I got it good.😁

2. What's something nice that's happened to you recently?

Hmm...nice? Well, let me answer it this way, how about made me smile?

That made me smile. And yes, some of you ask did I moo at them? Yep, and they are called moo's. LOL

3. Do you like the color orange? Yes Besides a pumpkin and an actual orange, what's something orange you love? hmm...the change of leaves, and orange sweatshirt I recently bought...I like the color.

4.  What's something you have now you couldn't have imagined having five years ago? A house aka mortgage. How does that make you feel?  Sometimes, I wish to just sell and go back to renting. Property taxes, insurance etc... just keep going up and up. But, when one is conditioned all her life to own a home that is what one does, just keep plowing thru. What's possible now because of it? Because I work, full time. Slaving away to the man, LOL.

5. Let's wrap this one up with an October this or that...

pumpkin bread or apple cider donut Both

cozy sweater or cozy hoodie both

apple picking or pumpkin picking both

scary movie or Hallmark movie Hallmark

hay ride or corn maze hmm...both

twinkle lights or candles twinkle lights

autumn hike or autumn bonfire hike

6. Insert your own random thought here. So, here is todays blouse:

Black and white palm trees by Larky Lark / Ruby Rd. ---really can't see the pattern

and black capris and multicolored Skechers

That is, it, that is all I got for the day.

Have a beautiful day.

Tuesday Meme...and a couple of photos

 Good morning.

Just a Tuesday thought.

Autumn evenings were always special when I was a kid. The day ended early, and the family gathered in the living room where my mother and grandmother watched a little TV and my father sat on the sofa reading and smoking his pipe.  My parents enjoyed a cup of coffee and sometimes a snack.

1. Does your life go along in the same way all year or do things change with the seasons? My life keeps going along the same way...I get home from work, change my clothes into pjs', wash my face and get all the makeup off, sit down, eat dinner and watch tv for about an hour. We really don't have a change of seasons here. Although, I have been noticing some color changes in the trees.

2. Do you have a favorite meal on the chilly night? I like soup or chili.

3.  Do you have a snack while you watch TV or read? Sometimes. I really like Sahale snacks. They have nuts & dried fruits. And sometimes it's a bowl of frozen yogurt or a cup of decaf. coffee.

4. Do you have a fireplace in your home? Nope. This is Florida, like we really need one. However, my parents have one. My mom always wanted one and Dad had one put in.

Today's blouse by Alfred Dunner, red sailboats and blue polka dots.

...and coming home yesterday evening, what did my little eyes spy? Cows that made me smile.

---Have a great day all---

Monday Musings...

Good morning, it rained all afternoon and overnight. Yesterday, I did absolutely nothing (does laundry count?) Hubby put together this cool Lego puzzle:

In honor of our son, so he says. 300-page instruction book and probably 1000 little pieces later. The box said from ages 8 to 80. He said he definitely feels it was more geared towards the near 60 yr old he is.
Yes, why? why? it is? yes. Why, thank you. 😁

Breakfast of champions, no not Wheaties:

Lightly toasted Asiago Cheese bagel and a cup of coffee.

Today's blouse. It has gray, red, pink squirlies? Gray pants and the new black Skechers.

I saw that on FB. Puts things in perspective, at least for me. Wishing you all a beautiful Monday.

Currently Sunday...

Good morning...I hope this finds each of you in good spirits.

Time: 8:07 am

Weather: Sunny and 62*. Another warm one on tap for today. Yesterday, the humidity came back...it was quite warm.

Watched: College football than Fridays episode of Gutfeld.

Listening to: Hubby getting up...I personally went back to bed after I let the dog out at 6 and he/the husband is just now getting up.

Just wowed: Went to visit the parents yesterday and my mom gave me her Tupperware set that they got as a wedding present 60 years ago and some other things. They are cleaning out the attic.

In pristine condition. Just wow.

Thinking: tomorrow is Monday, ick.

Feeling: Shouldn't have stayed up past midnight.

Ordered: Some Skechers that were on sale:

Soon, like in a month or so, regular shoes will be required as the temps usually drop around the end of Nov. into Dec.

Making me laugh:

Thankful...that I do live in the land of flipflops and where it is still warm, although I do miss the change of seasons.

Oh...forgot about this:

Going to work on Friday and spotted some (little) flick of fall color. Not much...but just a little.

P.S. Never did find out what the make/model of that car was. I guess it was just an oddity, and I will never see it again, sigh.

Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Currently...

 Good morning, Currently...

Time: 7:30 am

Weather: 58*, no worries will warm up to the mid-eighties or so today.

Reading: Nothing really...however, I am laughing over "Your Mom" comment made by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in response to a stupid press question. LOLOLOL---so, yeah, I guess I was reading something-the news.

Watching: Thinking...what did we watch last night? Jesse Waters and then Diners and Dives.

Loving: The little bit of backed off humidity we have been having. It has been very breezy the last few days.

Thinking: Sigh...

---a coworker is going out for cancer surgery on the 27th. I will need to cover Alpha education--it's a cell block. Back to 7-3 hours for a while. The coworker who I share an office with is covering my classes. Want to talk overload, both of us, are on overload. Sigh...and this is what happens when one can be trusted to do a job, sigh AND its audit season. So, she better have her books ready.

---It's haircut and color day and grocery day.

---and I want to go by the Jaguar dealership today...why? Because I saw an emblem on a car last week that was behind me at a light, and I can't quite figure it out. After looking at countless emblems, I do believe it's a Jaguar electric car. My husband is adamant that it's a Maserati I saw. Could be. He goes, 🙄"It's going to be a long day, isn't it?"😁---we will go to both places. Yes, we have both car dealerships here.

Feeling:

Thankful: That I do not live in a nation of Kings and or communism...because people, if we did, you wouldn't be protesting downtown today, just saying. 🙄(rolling eyes---you people are so stupid, just saying)

Giggling:

Today's clothes: shorts and a t shirt. FYI I am still in pj's. LOL---I really need to get going, sigh.
