Currently...been a day

Welcome to the swamp...it's been a day in a half, yesterday. More on that below.

I'll start off with this...

Thinking/Celebrating/Grateful...how incredible lucky (no such thing, just saying) my folks were to survive a head on collision yesterday. The state trooper was so kind and caring and pulled me aside and said, "I can't explain how they survived. Your mom either hit the windshield or the airbags. We are waiting on the video." A little nursery across the street captured everything as did the paving company they / my folks finally landed in. The nursery owner said my folks were so lucky, unbelievable they survived. The troopers have cleared my folks, no wrongdoing. There were 3 cars involved.

I did take more photos. I won't show anymore...they really were so lucky...I know, no such thing.

All the airbags came out, front, side etc. The radiator came out. Not only were they hit on by a driver going north on a south bound 441/301, but that hit caused their SUV to hit another car, that car spun them around, and my folks hit a pole, their SUV is totaled to say the least. Mom has a concussion, bruising etc. Dad has cuts and bruises, his glasses flew off, his watch since he been wearing since Vietnam broke in half and also was thrown in the car. Moms seat belt looked like it was severed. It was a relief to see my folks sitting there...no one should get a phone call like that. No one. They will be fine, but the trauma of it will last a long time, unfortunately. They were not at fault. The other driver and passenger of the 1st vehicle are not alright; the other driver is. So, anyways, after the hospital, and getting them home, settling in and me handling the insurance stuff etc. they settled in for the night. Dad told us to go home. While going home, I said to my husband, "Where are my brothers?"  Perplexed, my husband said to leave it alone as he asked my dad that. My husband, "You were called and not them and stay out of it." I don't think I like this...Ok then...

Weather....a balmy swampy 74* at 8 am. We had a whopper of a storm roll in yesterday afternoon. More incoming storms today, no pool again. It has been so blessedly humid here. I wouldn't say blessed. Because it really isn't that. More like...ick. an 80% to 100% chance of thunderboomers again today.

Feeling...

Between yesterday's happenings and being in the heat for a solid 3 hours waiting for the state troopers to clear everything...I am done. Just saying...by 11:00 last night, I jumped in the shower and then bed. D.O.N.E. Put a fork in me, d.o.n.e. Of course, I will check on mom etc.

Watching...I vaguely remember watching Lara Trumps show last night.

Finding something to smile about...

Ok, that's all I got. OH, P.S. Yes, I am going back to my formal job-teaching Mandatory Literacy, still at the prison etc. And it's ok.
Have a beautiful Sunday all.

Currently...touching the 3rd rail

 Currently

...joining in on the meme and sounding like a repeat parrot.

Weather...at 5:52 am it is 73* and the humidity is 94%.

Why am I...up this early on a Saturday? Probably because I fell asleep like at 7 pm. It was storming outside.

Watching...the last thing I remember was something on HGTV.

Listening to...the central ac just came on. Other than that, all is quiet.

Touching the 3rd rail...do you know what that means? Refers to engaging with a highly controversial or sensitive issue, particularly in politics, where doing so can lead to severe consequences. A recent comment got me so spitting mad to which was directed at another commenter. I feel sorry/pity for those who live this life in the forever socialist viewpoint. For one, NY is expensive (especially NYC), & who knew 24 yrs after 9/11 NYC would be having a socialist/Muslim/communist mayoral candidate. How sad. The truth hurts. Period.

Feeling...alright. Tired, but that is because of the humidity here.

Thinking...I met the new person/guy who is taking my place. I saw this gentleman sitting all by himself (we had graduation yesterday, btw, 8 out of my 10 students who took the GED passed and graduated, smiles). So, I walked up to him and stuck my hand out and introduced myself. I actually thought he was someone from Tallahassee. ANYWAYS, nice person and he had a million and half questions about the program etc. My/our boss walked up, and the man told him he wanted me to stick around for as long as he needed me. Wow, cool. The bossman agreed. He is retired military (Army) and quite strict, to which is what these girls need. I am happy to support him. He said, "You know, Ms. Conley, I heard a few things about you and the program. I think you and I will be just fine." Yes, sir. The bossman on the other hand was quite confused on how we were getting along. Both of us being alpha people and all. grin

Wowed/not meaning to boast, but...one of my students gave a short speech yesterday. She almost made me cried. The kind truthful words she spoke about me (the good and bad), it had my boss standing there in pride, and the administration all turned around and looked at me. I will miss those girls, but I will at some time need to head back to my old job. The new man was sitting next to me and whispered, "It looks like I have big shoes to fill." I was absolutely stunned by this students' words.

Grateful...I realized yesterday during the ceremony it was time for me to go back to my old job. My present assignment is over. I understood clearly my assignment and what is to become. And I am ok with it. So, grateful for the opportunity to work SSCU (Short Sentence), now, it's time to get back to GP (gen. pop.) and once again become homeless i.e. no office etc. lol

Making me laugh...

Wishing you all lovely day...my husband wants us to get going, we have things to do today before the storms roll in.

So...yeah...

 So...yeah...

not me, lol...I don't have a flamingo, but I do have an orange floaty.

I was wasting away in the pool on my floaty yesterday...but hubby came and told me to get out and get some lunch or I will turn into a prune. So, yeah...before that, we went over to Pinch a Penny NOT Penny Pincher.

not my photo
My parents told us to go there, it's right next to the police dept. ANYWAYS, got the water tested for free and they recommended a stabilizer for the PH content. So, we got a bag (hey, cheaper than Walmart!)--nice folks and I even bought 2 little rubber ducks, I really need to get a life. Seriously. lol

So...we are not really like overly mad about mil...we figured she would pull something like this--we are just deeply irritated by my sister in-law and brother in-law. When my husband called her/mil, she was screaming and caring on like a banshee, "I'M NOT MOVING!!" etc. This is what dementia does, we have to remind ourselves. This is why she has to move here or risk the state taking her. My husband, bless his heart, is doing everything to avoid that. So, a solution has come forward, hopefully it will happen. The realtor is talking to the person who wanted to buy the house and who had a contract (an investor who buys and rents out houses). Hopefully he/the investor will allow her to rent it. We could force the issue, but hubby is trying to avoid this at all costs, or she could live there, pay rent and have the nurse 7 days a week come in. The realtor said to let her work on this --we did tell mil she doesn't have a choice. The house has to sell she can no longer afford the taxes. Those NY taxes are just something else. So, yeah...

So, that is where we are at...have a beautiful day all.

Currently...Wednesday

Currently Wednesday and linking back to Stacy.

Currently...

The weather: 77* at 8 am. Under a severe weather threat for today--So much for getting into the pool.

Reading: Still reading

Watching: I fell asleep during Jesse Waters last night. I just simply couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

**As soon as I got home from work, I have been getting in the pool...so refreshing but wearing me out more. LOL

Listening to: The husband talking to the dog.

Loving: I took off today and tomorrow. Today--have to make phone calls, pick some things up at the store, head over to Penny Pincher (the pool store-they have to check the PH balance and its free), and hopefully get some pool time in and tomorrow I have to get a bone scan and more pool time.

Grateful: for plenty of sick leave and annual leave that I have built up in 3 years.

Thinking: Thank you to our great governor. We now have July 3 and 4th off and then I head down on that Sunday to Orlando for a week-long conference. I was told we all are getting our own room, we shall see. Received the itinerary for that week. So, thinking about that.

Feeling...ok. Just this humidity is wearing me out.

Enjoying...pool time. It's nice to just sit there/float away and not think about anything.

Saving the best for last...so to speak...

Extremely Annoyed/irritated...Well, folks, she did it again...and not surprising...my mil. The realtor called yesterday and to make a long story short...we had no idea the mil cancelled the contract. YEP. AND my husband's siblings knew before we did. My husband might had said, "Then rot in the house and let the roof cave in" (the roof needs to be replaced). Again, we had the house sold and she cancelled it. YEP. And that folks is the second and last time. I will remain POA/executor and continue to pay her bills etc. and nothing more. Hubby is fit to be tied. I shall not say another word about that. She did this on Sunday and we just found out last night from the realtor. YEP.

Laughing:

Have a great day all!!!

Good morning from the swamp. lol

The temp...76* sunny at 7:45 am. Yep...swampy.

Reading...will be

Watching...well, last night we were watching Castle Impossible on Demand and then we both got alerts about Iran. So, we switched to the breaking news and stayed up watching that. BTW, I really could less for you folks who are pro Iran. It truly is sad the pro boo hoo Iran is the victim. No.their.not. So there.

Listening to...the central ac just came on. Other than that, all is quiet here.

Loving...the pool. Hubby took out the ladder and put in two non-slip steps. So much better. The ladder caused some issues with my arthritic feet. My feet simply can't bend that way anymore. BTW, the pool is 85*. Yep. Bathwater.

Planning on...staying in the pool today and hubby is going to cookout. How's that for a lazy daisy Sunday. LOL

Visited/Liked...visited the folks yesterday. All is good with them-my dad being former military/Vietnam vet, surprisingly supports the bombing of Iran. ANYWAYS, Mom suggested we try a new antique store down the road from us/them-Olde Rusty Barn, so we did.

Thinking/Feeling...have you ever just thought, "Enough of being told what to do, when to do it, etc." Yeah, that is how I am feeling...liked boxed in/backed up against that proverbial wall/trapped.

Celebrating/Enjoying??? Not sure if I can celebrate trying something new, but here goes:

not my photo

Yummy Blueberry Lemon Goat cheese. Yummy.

Giggling...

Maxine is so bad, isn't she? LOL

Have a great day all.

Intentions are good...

My intentions were to post this past week. Sorry about that, intentions were good, honest. I just never got around to posting. BTW, at 7 am it is 73* with 95% humidity.

Today are just simple things I am grateful for which outweigh the not grateful for.

Grateful for:

*For late after thunderstorms that rock the ground/house. Old fashioned storms that really just rock everything around us. I know some folks don't like this sort of thing, but me, I love them. The lightening has been something else, that is for sure.

*For that one cup of coffee in the morning. Just one.

*As soon as I walked through the door, hubby goes, "Wanna go for a swim?" Sure, and we had a brief dip before the storms rolled in. It was like bathwater, beautiful. He worked all week to get it ready.

*Grateful for central ac. Just saying...we have had temps 100* for a few weeks now. Some of you are just starting summer, here in central Florida we have been in it for months, LOL.

*For common sense and holding my tongue on some things (professionally speaking).

*For my husband who listens and has my back, even though he is dealing with his own set of issues.

Not Grateful for:

-Rude doctors/medical staff. I have this coming Wednesday and Thursday off (taking some sick leave) to deal with this and find a new doctor. The cardiologist I am supposed to see wants another EKG done because she said so. No reason why, just because she said so and that is her rule. NO was my answer, because I just had one ordered by my doctor to you, what's the big deal you ask? It will cost me $60 --$30 for her visit and another $30 for the EKG. AND then my dr. said she is not renewing my bp medication. Why? "Because I said so" she said, that is the reason I got. WHY? I pressed. Because she said. Enough of this nonsense. Whatever happen to lovely doctors who care? Out the window I suppose.

**On that note, Grateful for a hubby who said, "Enough! Get a new doctor!"

-Oh oh, I just lied...I did not hold my tongue. The stress at work is unreal, unnecessarily so. For instance, if you think I am going to attend a weeklong convention in Orlando and be around people/socialize/network/party hardy for 12 + hrs--your nuts. And if you think I am going to dress professionally (wear proper shoes/heals and stockings) you are cuckoo for cocoa puffs. I did say that, btw. My boss said I will be written up if I didn't obey--oh contraire I said because I do have a dr. note stating so and so about the shoes/arthritis. Go ahead, try me. I did say that. (The gall (of me saying this), y'all are thinking, lol)--I have reached that breaking point. You.are.not.going.to.mess.with.my.feet. Period.

**My husband, "Linda, you always look professional when you leave for work. I don't understand." Nor do I.

And lastly...

Something funny:

LOL. So very true.

Have a beautiful day...
we have some running around to do today...sigh...not looking forward to going out and about in this humidity.

Because I am so really lazy...just saying...lol

The weather...76* at 7:15 am. Another of round of thunderboomers are on tap for later today.

Reading...surprise! We stopped at Ollie's yesterday. To make a very long story short, we compromised and got 12 3x12 rubber mats to set the pool on. So, while hubby was looking around, of course I found myself in the book section.

About a man who lost his wife of 40 years and a year a later while going through her things he finds a jewelry box with a charm bracelet. This sets him off on an amazing journey to find out about those charms and his wife's past.

Watched...The Army's 250th birthday celebration and my thought:

yeah, think about that one. Although, the UK has been allowing protests, just not against the king. Just saying.

Listening to...not much.

Loving...so yesterday we made the conscious effort to not go to Walmart. Instead, found ourselves at Target (Tarjay). Both of us were pleasantly surprised because the last time we were in there, they were fully supporting the Pride movement. Nope. I desperately needed more Clinique Happy...well, while I was in the bathroom, hubby thought he was going to be smart and surprise me. I really didn't think to look at it before leaving.

My Happy??? I was perplexed and he was too, because he goes, "I swear she handed me the orange box." ANYWAYS, very nice. It's called My Happy Pink Peony. He also thought I would like Coach and I do. Ok, so win win.

NOT Loving...

the temps. 100*...and it's not so much the temp, it's the humidity.

***after all the running around yesterday, I told hubby we had to head home. I was starting to personally overheat (stop laughing). Whatever causes this momentarily sickness, whatever it's called, I had had enough of being out and about. Maybe I ought not to have been wearing a black t shirt.

Thinking...do I really got to go back to work tomorrow? whineeeeeeee

Grateful...guess who is out this morning setting up the pool?

I asked him did he need help, and he goes, "You know darn well you can't be outside." ----Ohhh...the trailer behind our house, yeah...don't t look at that, last year's hurricane did some damage, a tree fell on it. And since the insurance industry is seriously slow here...yeah...nonetheless, I simply like living in a non-communist state (oh no she didn't).

P.S. I have not sought permission to share my Dads photo...and since I have to have permission to visit, I figured I better not share without having permission.

Our late son and his dad at Niagara Falls.

Happy Father's Day to my husband.

Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Good morning...maybe this should be Goings On...sigh.

Weather...76*, 95% humidity at 6:38 am. We have been having some awesome thunderboomers in the late afternoon into overnight. It does very little to cool it off here.

Not reading...anything. At all.

Watching/Listening to...the news. Totally back Israel and totally back Florida; is NOT a sanctuary state and who will shoot you dead if you violently protest or block traffic. We are a stand your ground state. Don't mess with Florida, period. I am unapologetically pro America and pro Florida. Thank the goodness I live in a state where common sense prevails.

**On that note, had a nice dinner last night with our Godson who called us up and said, "Hey, Mama 2, wanna have dinner? I'm paying." ---anyways, he is a Sgt. with the sheriffs dept. I was seeking clarification on what was said in the news etc. about said topic. It is indeed 100% correct. For the record, I needed that extra hug.

Feeling...I was hit by the proverbial Mack truck last Friday and was out all weekend until Tuesday. Whatever hit me, it got me good. So, better, not 100%, but better.

Enjoying/Celebrating...having the weekend off...Although I only worked 4 days this week, it was a long week. We are all wondering at work what has gotten into these inmates as of late. From darn right crazy women streaking down the center tower to drug overdoses to darn right crazy...my part of the world is darn right dangerous. OHHHH look at that, darn right is my word for the day, LOL.

Thinking...not in any particular order:

--darn right crazy stuff going on at work from my personal job to this and that. My Godson has said the same at his job too...

--Did you hear about that Walmart heiress putting out a full-page ad backing this NOT KING movement? Crazy rich fool. Walmart had to put out a statement against their very own. Well, sorry, CYA Walmart. Hubby goes, "Where can we shop now? Walmart is not getting my money now." He is fed up with this TDS. At some point in time, grow up folks and quit blaming Trump. Some of you have this forever TDS, he lives in your brains for free. GEESH.

--hubby still doesn't have the pool up...we are dealing with some personal issues...

--speaking of...we are selling my mil's house in NY and moving her here. Have too, due to declining health, she has to move and be near us, period. She is not liking this at all. Too bad. The house went up for sale Thursday. Also, have to kick out the squatter who is living in their basement, his/Hubby's late brother's girlfriend who has lived for free for the last 2 years-not paid one cent in rent or utilities. She is legally called a squatter. Proceedings have started for that. It has gotten really real in the last 48 hrs. We both have mixed feelings about all of this. But, when you're the court guardian of someone, you have to do what is best. We will be moving her into a community for seniors with dementia etc. I am really proud of my husband with handling all this very well. He will be going up soon to NY to deal with whatever.

--I did not do any Memes this week. Not feeling up to it really.

--Ms. Lilybelle has to go get shots this morning. We have to go get haircuts and do some running around. I see downtown Ocala is having a NO KING protest as well. Interesting...

Hmm...
100% Gutfeld. 100%. Thanks for keeping it real. I feel sad for those who are supporting this nonsense.

Making me laugh...

Ain't that the truth. I told hubby yesterday why do I bother to shower in the morning? By the time I get down to my classroom, I am soaking wet. It is just nasty out.

Wishing you all a beautiful day folks.

Tuesday Meme on a Saturday...

Good morning, Florida is being hit with some Sahara Desert sand, yep, 5,000 miles away across the Atlantic. So, since I have no desire to go out today, and the fact that this affects my asthma, I am staying put. All that nasty stuff has settled in my throat, and I am, frankly, not feeling well. So, how about the Tuesday Meme?

Well hello again!  I am so glad you stopped by, and I do hope you are here to join in for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4. We ask 4 questions each week to get you blogging, thinking, discussing and visiting with other bloggers. The commercial song said, "the best part of waking up in Folger's in your cup".

1. What is in your cup in the morning? A cup of half caffeinated New England brand coffee.

2. What brand of coffee or tea is the best in your opinion and why do you think so? I like New England coffee brand. However, I am a bit spoiled and like Filicori Zecchini Italian Roast. I also like Maxwell House Breakfast Blend. Those don't upset the stomach and are mild. At least for me it is.

3. Where do you drink your cuppa in the morning?

Do you have a nice view? Right there at my desk at home. I allow myself one cup a day.

4. Besides the morning, do you take little tea or coffee breaks during the day?  No, I simply don't have time. I have classes from 6:30-2:30. If you are out and about where is your favorite place to get some tea or coffee? I don't get tea or coffee out. I can't see paying like $7 for a cup of whatever.

That's all I got...well, hubby did buy an above ground little pool. It's only 3 feet tall...

he has not put it up yet as he has to get the ground tilled up etc. and do some things before, he sets it up. A neighbor of ours sold to him for $20, still in the box. They had recently divorced, and they were going to set it up and never did. Can't wait for it to go up.

Wishing you all a beautiful Saturday.

Sharing Four Things...

Thank you all for the kind comments for yesterday's post. More on that below...oh hey, there might be more than 4 things, just saying.

Somethings I have not loved...notice, I changed that up, lol.

**Pharmaceutical companies and dr.'s go hand in hand, and I would say, although there are great strides in medicine, I do believe mostly it's a con job regarding all these medicines. When questioned about "preventive" I got this, "Well, you're at that age." I am not one size fits all, period. Now, with that said, I have managed to keep 60 pounds off since our son passed away. I'm a skinny mini? Nope. But I am healthy, for the most part...ok, with that said, arthritis has been a bear. At first, I wasn't so keen on Kennedy and the MAHA movement, and now, I get it.

**The utility bills and gas prices. Another con job.

Somethings I have learned...

***I had no idea until yesterday, that Florida has a high-speed rail that goes to Miami. My folks took it from Orlando to Miami. I was blown away. Wow...and its relativity cheap. $100 per person round trip and it takes 3 hrs. It normally takes 4 1/2 - 5 hrs. if you're driving. ANYWAYS, we are discussing taking a little trip to Miami in the fall.

***Goodwill will no longer accept clothing. Odd.

***Maxi and midi are two different types of skirts/dresses. Who knew, not me. I did buy two new midi A Line skirts for work. I don't normally wear skirts or dresses...but you know, it's hotter than hades here. Unfortunately, because I am short, they fall between my knees and ankles.

and

Somethings that went well...the skirts above. I really like them, and hubby said I should wear skirts more often.

Something(s) I need to let go of...

****I really really need to clean out my closet. I have been avoiding it. So, old clothes or clothes I no longer wish to wear because the "seasons of my life" have changed.

**** Work issues and the underwhelming's of it. Notice I said underwhelming...I don't do politics in the workplace, period. And its politics that drive me to madness.

That's all I got for this Sunday morning. And I did not do the regular memes this week. There are no books on my summer list, sad to say. And the Hodgepodge, well, I just couldn't get in to either.

Have a great day all!!!
