Sunday Stealing...

Joining in with the Sunday Stealing.

1. Do you decorate for Autumn?  A little bit.

Apologies, our phones are not allowed in at work, so no photos of my desk which is decked out in Halloween; skeleton mermaid, Trick or Treat candy dish and sign, ghost & witch banners, a witch sign that says" The Witch is In." and fake black roses with eyeballs.

2. How often do you clean out your closets?  When I get disgusted, which will be soon because I have clothes that don't fit anymore.

3. When was the last time you planned a surprise for someone?  It's been a long time. I am not a surprise person, no thank you.

4. Are there foods you really don’t like?  Oysters & snails.

5. What is something you recently learned?  It's ok to walk away and let a coworker fail; quit doing their work or extra work, especially when your ordered to do so (walk away or just say no). I have learned I am an overachiever & my expectations, work ethic is not necessarily someone else's. And yes, its stressful to know this and to just say NO.

6. Items you’re most likely to buy at a convenience store. A cup of coffee, a soda pop and a lottery ticket.

7. Do you believe in the paranormal?  I believe there are certain unexplainable things.

8. How would you describe your spirituality?  I am a work in progress: 2 Timothy 2:15 was my son's motto.

9. Do you make plans far in advance.  It depends. But since we have been back in the land of flip flops, we just kind of take it day by day.

10. Do you like being scared for fun?  Nope.

11. What has been difficult for you lately?  Working. I'm really tired of working. Inflation is really taking a hit in my wallet, so to speak. The way things are going, I will probably work until I die/ no retirement for me. And that is depressing.

12. Have you ever written or read fanfiction?  I had to look it up. Nope.

13. What type of wall art do you have in your home?  Most are tin signs, some watercolors, artwork and some photos.

14. Are you more likely to be private or overshare?  I share a good bit on my blog because it is my journal, but I have become overcareful due to the fact all social media is being watched by my employer. I am private at work, since I work in a prison. I have no personal photos, no first name, etc. Oh, they know I love the beach because I do have mementos on my desk.

15. What have you recently learned to live without?  Wow, not sure how to answer this one. Maybe not so much chocolate or sweets? I don't know.

So, the Chick Fil A Chicken Honey Pimento sandwich is very good, just know it has Jalapenos on it. It was well worth whatever it cost, I didn't check-hubby paid for it. Plus, our Chick Fil A if one goes inside, they have people taking orders at the door or while standing in line and when called, you pick it up. We are getting a 3rd Chick Fil A soon further on down St. Rd 200/ Hospitality Road and hopefully that one won't be as busy. On another note, today is homemade Stuffed Peppers and Apple Crisp for dinner.

Currently...

Joining in on the Currently meme from Stacy's blog.

Currently...

Outside my window...the sun is starting to come up. It is going to be another warm day here in Florida. Not so much humid, just warm. Although the high 80's are back. Currently 63*, humidity is 98% and dewpoint is 62*.

I'm enjoying...the slightly cooler weather in the morning. It had been darn right chilly, now the warmer weather has returned.

I am grateful...times are hard people... I am just grateful for a job.

**although I cannot afford to pay my student loans; $1,500 a month...get a grip people. Yes, I have applied for this or that, but they want blood...that's all I am going to say.

I am a little sad...so much turmoil in the world and the sad state of affairs we are in as a people. Makes me sick to see the hatred for Israel.

--on that note, it seems the minions in DC and the courts want Trump's head, but its ok to spew hate toward Israel and such from certain members of congress and senate; the real insurrection but the folks are too stupid to see it.

Also, a little sad, because the Halloween stuff gets put away on Tuesday...although my boss says she is going to keep hers up, lol.

In the kitchen...hubby made Beef Stew the other day, been eating on that. He also made chocolate cookies for my luncheon at work. So thankful and grateful for him.

On tv...I did laugh myself silly last night watching Hocus Pocus, much to my husband's dislike- him "You do know this movie is pretty dark, right?  Which caused me to laugh more.

I'm planning...actually on decorating my desk at work for Christmas. Suggestions have been made, but I have not quite decided yet, some of the suggestions have been to get out of my forever traditional red/green color wheel and go with silver/blue. I have not decided.

--we are planning to go over to Chick fil A as hubby wants to try the new Honey Pepper Pimento Cheese Chicken sandwich.

At the store...inflation everywhere. Gas was $3.04 on Wed. By Thursday it was back to $3.29. But that's ok, "nothing to see here" comes to mind and /or "Oh, we can fight 2 proxy wars, but that's ok, we will just leave the homeland gullible." Yeah...sick of it.

A thought or two:

Bahwaaaaaa, lol.

Bibbity Boppity do...

A good very late Saturday evening.

Just dropping in for a bit...we started off our morning early, heading over to the

Ocala Equestrian Center where the second annual Ocala Yard Sale was being held. We quickly split up (as I prefer order and he does not, LOL). Much to my delight, most of you know I collect green depression (uranium) glass. I found 2 more candle holders, and she threw in the sugar bowl and decanter. The candle holders are now complete, shortly before Liam passed away, I found one in an antique store. Now, I have three, as we have always done things in 3. Funny thing is, I have 3 sugar bowls now, this plain one and 2 that are called Royal Lace.

$12.

My husband picked up some tin signs...but I haven't taken photos of those yet. By noon, we were hungry and decided to call it a day and headed over to one of our favorite places Horse and Hounds which used to be the Castro Convertibles place, back when sleeper sofas were in.

not my photo.

We ordered Cheese Curds.

and I had Shepherd's Pie (again)

hubby had Bangers and Mash (again).

All in all, it was a good day. I will try to check in with your blogs soon. smiles

Currently... on a Tuesday

You might be wondering what I am doing posting on a Tuesday? I am off today as hubby needs to have dental work done and I also have my last Workmans Comp doctor appointment. So, that leaves me with a little time this morning. Joining in with Stacy.

Currently...

Outside my window...Can you believe it's actually only 48*? Yep. In central Florida and the high is only supposed to be 70* today. The sun is starting to come out.

Thinking about...not much in anything particular. How about I answer some comments that were left here?

---Yes, I work in a prison. Every single person convicted in a court gets codes/sentencing codes/Uniform Commitment. I am that person who codes that inmate into prison, one has to know how to read court documents, confidential documents, police report's etc. I am what is called Classification Sentencing Tech. Yes, we have lifers in for murder, rapists, drug dealers etc. Florida is a no-nonsense state when it comes to drugs. We usually get in somewhere between 50-100 women a week. BTW, don't take offense to the use of Inmate. They have no names, and we have no names as well. It's yes or no ma'am or sir. I do deal with inmates on a daily basis, safety is always a concern, but we do have several security measures in place (like those folks in DC: congress and senate, have you really paid attention to their lapels or necklaces they wear?) and we do have an officer who is in our office. The officers know where we are at all times, privacy is zero. Actually, we get treated just as they do, only difference is we get to leave out those gates and go home.

P.S. I work in a prison people, I ain't telling you no trade secrets here, use your vivid imagination. It ain't no joke working in one.

I am grateful...for having a good job. Although it is stressful, it pays well, the benefits are wonderful, and my education gets put to good use on a daily basis.

I am loving...this cooler weather, albeit it won't stay cool. It is Florida, LOL.

Small and inspiring things...

no, not heading to the beach...but inspiring none the less.

In the kitchen: see above. I made French Toast for breakfast.

At the store: Inflation. No worries, we have a capable, well sounded president who is doing a fabulous job (catch the dripping sarcasm?), a wonderful media who does nothing but covers and lies etc.     Nothing to see here folks sort of attitude.

Leaving you this thought and where I stand i.e. jumping off the mountain (no longer cliff):

SO, the president is going to Israel. I put my 2 cents on the table that he will tell them to back down.

Sunday Stealing...

Good morning, friends. I think I shall join in with the Sunday Stealing Meme.

1. Write about the best decision you ever made. How did you make it? Was it reasoning or gut instinct?

Hope this doesn't sound cliche...Marrying my husband. I just went with it and never looked back. (Because my folks told me that if I went through it, I would never be welcomed back, so there you have it and all these years later, they have kept to their word.)

2. What ONE thing would you change about your life? How would your life be different?

Just one thing? Impossible. I probably shouldn't take life so seriously and learn to loosen up.

3. What is the hardest thing you have ever done? Why was it hard for you? What did you learn?

1. Finding my one and only son had suddenly passed away...NEVER EVER do I wish that pain on anyone. It has shaken me to the core and still has. I miss him every single moment of the day. Which brings me back to #2 question...life has a way of hardening people...and humbling them at the same time.

2. Picking up and moving back to Florida. It was hard to leave NY, but I/We knew we couldn't stay there...here we are.

What have I learned? That one is never too old to start over. Open your heart and mind and quit being so stubborn.

4. What is your greatest hope for your future?

Love and peace for mankind.

What steps can you take to make it happen?

Unfort. I don't know.

5. If you can time travel, what will you tell your teenage self?

Just.do.it. Travel, take a risk, etc. See the world (well, not right now, but you get my drift).

6. Write about the most glorious moment in your life so far.

Not just one thing but many. Being in love, having a child and loving unconditionally. Becoming a Born-Again Christian at age 30...so many things that have made it glorious.

7. Write about a moment you feel brave.

Every single day walking into a prison and hearing those metal gates slamming shut. Every day I have to give myself a pep talk. Working in a prison is not for sissies and I know some folks take their jobs for granted by NOT following the rules.

8.  What made you happy today?

Waking up and seeing my husband.

9. What do you dislike most about growing up?

Growing up? Who says I am grown up? (grin)

--In all seriousness, paying bills and being responsible.

10. Write about ten activities you love the most and why you love them.

-Going to the beach and just sitting...so therapeutic.

-going thrifting...just something about the thrill of it. lol

---reading. I love to just loose myself in a book.

-preparing for the holidays...not so much last year due to Liam's sudden passing...but I am trying to get on with things. Slowly coming out of shock, disparity and such.

-learning about history. One must never forget how we got to where we are today.

-cooking and baking, again therapeutic

-watching trains and airplanes...there is just something about that...wondering who, what, where etc.

-having dinner (or whatever) with friends.

How many is that? ((grin))

11. Do you have an embarrassing moment that still makes you cringe? Write about it in as much detail as you feel comfortable!

Oh please, I live in the real world. Lighten up folks. I am sure I have plenty of stories, none worth mentioning.

12. What has been your best trip so far?

So many to choose from...

To Canada. We walked across.

Gosh it was so hot that day.

The kid being silly. He sure had a knack to make one laugh.

and at the Corning Glass Musuem...I remember those two being enthused about that necklace. They were always having conversations with one another. Deep thought-provoking conversations.

And then we went over to Seneca Falls the real-life story that inspired Frank Capra to produce It's a Wonderful Life. Of course, we were there to visit the Womens Suffrage Musuem, but wandered over to the bridge etc.

 13. Write a list of 5 things (physical or personality-wise) you love about yourself, and why they make you unique.

I can tell you what folks say...

--I am so nice

--I have beautiful eyes

--Pretty smart and resourceful

--I like to laugh

--I wear my feelings/can't lie

14. Discuss 5 things you wish others knew about you.

--I am really not that nice (lol)

--I wish I could hide those feelings

I would never ever knowingly hurt someone.

-I am very rule orientated/proper

-I can't do small talk.

15. Is social media a blessing or a curse?

Both

Linking back to Stacy for this meme.

Currently...

Outside my window...80* and getting dark.

I've been watching...very little during the week, waiting for the football game to get done so we can start back with Monarch of the Glen. I have mentioned this before; it's on British TV-It's on TUBI (we have Roku).

I'm feeling...

--so, you might have noticed I changed the blog look. You know, with all the evil going on around us, I am just not up to Halloween, well, not on the blog. I am actually not very happy that the Cutest Blog on the Block is STILL down. Been weeks now. Changing the blog look used to bring such happiness and giddiness, now...well...just disappointment with trying to find the right look/feel.

I am grateful...for so many things.

So...(I made this one up, lol)

Before

after, I made it a lighter with changing the cloth.

--we did go out today. I needed some things from the store, carrots, maple syrup, bagels, stuff for my lunch this coming week, powdered sugar, eggs, milk.

--tomorrow will be a complete stay cation in.

Laughing at:

I'll plead the 5th, lol.

yeahhhhh....um...never mind, LOL.

Ok, I'm done. LOLOLOL Have a good evening, all.

Simple Woman's Daybook...

Let's just jump into it....

Looking out the windows...darkness has fallen here in humid central Florida.

I am thinking...

-I can't even bare to turn the news on anymore. Between this country and the world...just saddens me.

-time for a short post...and self-imposed exile from FB. I have nothing to say anyways.

-we had a monster storm the other evening into the day. No power loss, but to the west of us in Crystal River suffered a tornado. As did where my husband's sister lives in Palm Coast. NO direct damage to them, all is well. Hubby spent the day at our friends in Dunnellon (near Crystal River) they had quite a few trees down, one nearly getting their propane tank.

--my folks came by for a surprise visit last Sunday evening. Dad wanted to see the new windows and doors. Both our pleased.

One of my favorite things...a good cup of hot coffee (which I am presently having). I have switched brands once again and to Maxwell House...and no more heartburn, less acidity.

I am creating...well...I still have to fix that dresser top--tomorrow. Hubby has declared tomorrow a stay cation, fine by me. We're both tired.

I am wearing...sleep light green pj shorts with blue daisies, pink tank and a red button-down pullover. Although its 77*, the humidity is just unbelievable at 84%. It's nice and quite chilly here in the house.

I am learning...to just go with it...period...so much evil in this world. So glad I am a Christian.

In the kitchen...well...since I got off at 3 today instead of 5 (actually finished another very busy work week and frankly, there was nothing to do...) and hubby was finishing up at our friends, we stopped at Piesanos and got pizza...yep. SO, nothing in the kitchen except coffee.

Quote:

well...now, ain't that the truth, grin.

P.S.

Thank you all for the kind comments etc...it warms my heart.

Sunday Chat

Time: 7:50 am

Scene: 58*!!!! Can you believe it? In Florida? My husband said it's winter out, lol. It is supposed to be 77* today with little humidity.

Drinking: My first cup of New England Breakfast Coffee with Italian creamer.

Thinking:

--need to get going. Never made it to the store yesterday. My list seems to be growing, lol.

--    Homosassa Springs has certainty changed from when I was a child. Still though, quite desolate in some spots. Beautiful neighborhood we went to yesterday (sorry forgot to take photos), let's call it God's Country. The house we visited yesterday will sell easily sell for $400,000 and above. Had such a lovely pool with acreage. While digging through stuff, I did find a leather recliner/rocker. She let me have it for $25.

My husband wanted a cover on it...to which I hate it and told him it was "inside out" as the black should be out, he refused. Ugly.

...thinking I am really liking all the solar lighting hubby has put up. Even on the fence line, liking it.

Our neighborhood has no streetlights. However, with that said, we all know when someone doesn't belong in the 'hood, just saying.

Hubby was kind enough to drag all the seasonal stuff out...gonna do something with that dresser...

Yeah, too busy. Back to the drawing board.

well...folks, I need to get going. I hope each of you have a great day and I will check in later.

Hodgepodging on a Saturday...

Good morning...another self-Internet outage this week-sorry folks, behind in posting on FB'ing etc.

1. What's something that scares you?

Not much anymore. I used to think death...but since our son suddenly passed away, my feelings have changed. We were discussing this topic at lunch yesterday and it surprises me that young folk and their attitudes. Honestly, I can't talk about that awful day, but the good Lord will call you home when HE is ready. Liam went peacefully in his sleep, in the next room over from where I was, and I had no idea. One minute I was talking to him and vice versa and the next, he was gone. SO, love your loved ones, forgive etc. That is my advice.

2. Do you care where the food you eat comes from? To what degree?

It is on the back of my mind when we go out. I like certain things certain ways.

3. What's something you wish you'd spent more time doing when you were younger?

Listen up young folk, take time off from your job if you have the time saved etc. Enjoy life etc.

4. Let's play autumn this or that.... pumpkin spice or apple cider? Pumpkin whatever. Although I do like hot cider. Corn maze or haunted house? Corn maze. Horror film or Hallmark movie? Hallmark. Blanket or sweatshirt? Blanket at home and sweatshirt when out and about. Watch football or watch the World Series? College football. Foliage-red, yellow or orange? ALL

5. This time last year where were you and what were you doing?

We were still living with friends trying to figure out this living arrangement mess/land mess (we had bought land if you remember) ...then a miracle, this house came up and we sold the land etc. We officially moved in on Oct. 31. I never thought in a million-years housing would be so unaffordable, and never in a million years did I ever think I would be living in a mobile home in a semi-retirement community. But I learned a hard lesson once again; all on HIS timing, not mine. You would think I would understand that, right? As much as I preach it.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

We will be heading out soon...we had only planned to head over to Sams Club and call it a day, head back here and decorate the house for fall/Halloween (NOT that it feels like it weather wise, mind you)...but a friend of a friend is having an estate sale, so we are heading over to Homosassa Springs about an hour away. I shall catch up later on the blogs and FB.

YEP. Have a great day folks.
