Currently Sunday...

Good morning, I hope this post finds each of you in great spirits. Joining in on the Currently meme.

Weather...73*, mostly cloudy, humidity 99%, dewpoint 73* at 7 am. No Autumn colors or feel here. Nope.

***we did get a substantial amount of rain last night.

Did watch...college football yesterday. And I also got caught up with some of my YouTube channels:

The Scottish Isle
Primal England
Kirsten and Jorge

I'm listening to...not much. The central ac came on.

Never made it...to the furniture stores yesterday. It was so just hot and humid. We stopped at Lowes to get some plants, and the service was just so poor, we left without buying anything. We did stop at my favorite consignment store and saw this:

She Sells Seashells. Of course she did, LOL. I have always said if I could figure out a way to sell seashells and make a living on the beach doing so, I would. LOL-Yep, it came home with me $5.

I also bought 3 new tops (well, new to me). Already washed and hanging up.

I particularly like this one because of the lacy eyelets or whatever it's called. All for $18. While at my favorite consignment store, I did find two chairs. I did not get them. I liked them, but I am just not "sold" on them. Then we decided to stop at Twistee Treat and get a treat, LOL.

I'm feeling...tired. Tired of this humidity. It's just so sticky outside. The humidity in our bedroom states 60%. We are looking at investing in a dehumidifier for the house.

Making me laugh...

well, my hair does the opposite, it falls flat. No amount of humidity hairspray works.

yeah...pretty accurate. LOL

Very accurate. LOL--the other day while driving home from work, one side of the road it was pouring rain/storming. On my side, nothing.

That's all I got for this Sunday Morning. Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Share 4 Somethings...

Good morning, the calendar might say August 30th, but it has not cooled down here. Oh, the pool has it says 80* it is usually 90*, but that is probably because of the afternoon showers we have been getting.

Sharing 4 Somethings to end the month...

Something I need to let go...Let it go. Let those old relationships who don't want anything to do with you, just let it go. Case in point, been back to Florida for nearly 4 years now and I still have not met my nephews/my brothers, nor cousins, aunts, uncles etc. Just let it go. My brother's son just turned 15 yesterday, have I ever met him? Nope. They live 5 miles away. I am quite certain they have no idea they have an aunt or uncle.

Somethings I have loved...having a long weekend, tasting new foods, changing out things for the season, although it's still hotter than hades here. That goes for the blog too. Hey, I won $10 on the Mega Millions! Cool beans. LOL

***hubby went to sit on the love seat next to me last night and he goes, "Oh, you sit in a hole, time to get a new couch or pair of chairs." Ok then...lol I guess I can count that as something I loved, new chairs? New couch? Probabilities? LOLOL---the love seat was bought used when we moved into this house--as I had sold our furniture before we moved back here.

Somethings I have learned...time stops for no one. Just when you think you have it figured it out, forget about it, you don't. And it's ok to change one's direction.

Somethings that went well...
I had finished my end of the month reports (attendance and program hours) that are due this coming Tuesday and I turned them in Thursday before I left. I can imagine the bossman rolling his eyes.

I helped hubby set up the canopy in the backyard, close to the pool. Now we can sit in the shade. Sorry, didn't think to take a photo. It's really nothing to write home about or share.

Yep...starting with the bias and hate in the news...turn that nonsense off people, just turn it off. 🧐--and for whatever its worth, PRAYER is important.

Have a great day all, looks to be a rainy day here, no pool time, hubby wants to go out and about looking at furniture. Rolling eyes...

P.S.
**we haven't seen that house yet, the realtor had to go pickup his son from school yesterday as the schools let out at noon. I know this because my mother said she had to go pick up my brothers' kids, 3 different schools. So, hubby suggested I put her birthday card in the mail (her birthday was Monday). And since I have to make an appointment to see my mother... Let.it.go.

So...TGIF

So...TGIF. We decided not to go to the beach; it looks to be mostly cloudy today and rain later this afternoon. I'm ok with it, I will head into the pool in a bit for a couple of hours. In the meantime, we headed over last night to a nice place called Milano Italian Grille in Heath Brook Commons. It's a family-owned business and the service (extremely attentive) and food was very good.

Hubby ordered Pepperoni appetizers. Very good, bought that home with us.

I ordered a large Milano Deluxe (everything) Very good, ended up bringing all of it home as well.

Hubby ordered Spaghetti and meatballs, and he had to bring that home too. The food was excellent, and the waiter was nice, attentive, the place was very busy etc. Definitely a must to go back. It was a nice Thursday get away/ dinner.

Every day I pass by this house, it has been for sale for months now. So, hubby stopped by yesterday, said, "Ok let's go look." So later today or tomorrow we will meet up with the realtor. It is a 4-bedroom 2 bath home on a corner. Been re done. Photo is off the website. So, we shall see. It is still high though, $235,000. But, while at dinner yesterday, we figured out what we are paying, the escrow etc. That is what we are already paying --so who knows. But he has agreed to house hunt.

We are in no rush to move etc...it's just the wanting too and not really needing to. Have a great day all. I hope to get caught up on the blogs today.

Hodgepodge on a Thursday

Good morning, another hot one. Thank you for the kind comments on yesterday's post, yes the ac is fixed and it was under warranty, thankfully. Joining in on the Hodgepodge.

1. When someone finds out what you do or where you're from, what's a question they always ask?

You work where? Why? Those are always the two questions. But to be honest, I really don't talk about it or offer up first where I work.

2. Did you participate in 'Greek Life' when you were in college, or have children who did? If so, what was your experience like? Nope Taking another tack...have you ever been to Greece?

Nope, does Tarpon Springs, FL count? If not, is that a destination on your bucket list? Yes

3. Do you like Greek food? Yes, If so what's your favorite dish?  Souvlaki, Spanakopita, Baklava

4. What incredibly common thing have you never done? Common thing? A tattoo, I don't have any nor do I want any.

5. What is a telltale sign that you're upset?

Folks say I have my mother's look, lol. I wear my feelings, so really, you will know.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Speaking of feelings, there are some inmates who think they are entitled and think they can boss you around etc. Yeah, try that with me and see where it gets you. One would think they would learn by now. I guess they haven't figured out that I do indeed have eyes in the back of my head and have hearing like a bat. Just saying, LOL.

P.S. Apologies I am running behind in catching up with your blogs.

Wednesday Yada...

Oh geeze, apparently, I haven't posted since Sunday. Let's see...

Well, yesterday morning (overnight Monday) our central ac went out. Yep...anyways, it's fixed now.

***Not for the Squeamish***

Apparently, a big rat got into the blades somehow, yeah...well...that is enough of that talk. Apparently, (oh look, it's the word of the day, lol) that's what happens when one lives in the country. NOT was my thought. That is just plain nasty. Calling the pest control person today.

I've been noticing this crane by the county buildings, actually across the street from it. Wonder what's going on...probably another parking garage going in or street widening. Don't know. I do know they knocked down a block of buildings. Interesting.

Yep...and I am taking Friday off. Not sure if we are going to the beach or staying in the pool. All depending on the weather, of course. Well, that is all I have...not much really going on in these parts.

Have a great day all!

Great Saturday Finds :)

So, today, late Saturday, was quite an adventure, that is for sure. It rained pretty much all day, we did have some breaks in the rain, but all in all, it was a rainy day. Some of you asked did I find anything great...well...you ask and you shall receive, LOL.

So, we first stopped at the Goodwill in the Villages...I am sure I have mentioned before how nice that Goodwill is...its where all the retirees dump their stuff, LOL. This is how the conversation went...

Me: was standing guard at these chairs.

Hubby: notices and he goes, "Whatcha' doing?"

Me: Hey, I am willing to give up $50 of my clothing budget for these chairs.

Hubby: ((laughing uncontrollably)) then he looks...

Two outdoor wrought iron loungers/ recliners, yes, they came with cushions, 2 blue outdoor cushions each, but when we got them home, we took them off because the cat had already claimed the one.

Hubby: $24.89 a piece? ((he quickly tears the price tags off and goes, "Lets go!") lol

Me: Why, are they worth it?

Hubby: "Shh...don't talk so loud!" LOLOLOL

Aren't we a pair, whispering like schoolgirls, that is what I told him. lol

Unfortunately, we couldn't fit both in his SUV, but the man was nice enough to let us come back...ok. 19 miles home, 19 miles back, whew...so that is why we took the cushions off because when we got back with the second one, the cat was already sitting on the one. SO, if and when he gets the patio pavers down, we will have someplace to sit by the pool. Onwards---oh wait, so 19 miles back to the Villages. LOL---onwards to Marshalls.

I personally have spent the last 2 weeks without caffeine and honestly, I was really starting to get unnerved. I had run out of coffee and well, being the ever so coffee snob, and knowing it, hubby did not go out and buy any coffee for me. Found Garibaldi coffee, I bought the two boxes they had, $12.99 each --yes, bad Linda, but I do love a good cup of Italian coffee.

Pure Maple syrup. There is nothing like pure Maple Syrup. Yeah, a little pricey at also $12.99.

Two silk blouses, one was originally marked $85, got it for $16.99--sorry, I already put them in the wash/gentle cycle. One is a solid green button blouse, and the other one is a giraffe print button blouse that one was originally $30 and was $15. Dude, why are you bothering me, following me around? I did say that to him/hubby, LOL. --he said, I ought to wear more green, because that is my color, by this time I was rolling my eyes. NO, I had my colors done years ago, jewel tones and he goes, "Green is a jewel tone." sigh...back to rolling my eyes. He just stands there with this cheshire grin, like a little boy. 🙄

While I was browsing the soaps, and since our bathroom was out of hand soap, I did buy this and its Villa Flora Coconut and Verbena for $4.99. The container is so pretty.

***Hmm...while I was browsing, I noticed Hubby was up to no good, he was talking to the sales lady, and it looked like she was getting two perfumes out of the locked case...interesting. He told me to mind my own beeswax--well, he did say it very loudly and of course; he had all these women around giggling...hmm...he's up to no good. He keeps asking me about Christmas, and I told him, what I wanted, Black Opium perfume. And for whatever its worth, I did happen to see one Black Opium bottle/box in the case, and I simply left it there, as I know how expensive it is and since I only wear French/expensive perfume, I had to walk away. Moving along...I also bought some Halloween towels, again, in the wash with the blouses, some Italian pasta and a few other food items. Then we went to Hobby Lobby next door, and I bought some fake fall flowers for the dining table and will decorate the house for fall, probably tomorrow. Both Marshalls and Hobby Lobby had 40-50% off, great sales.

Then, we went to Walmart, still in the Villages. And was pleasantly surprised to see this spice packet. Guess what is for Sunday dinner? It takes 1- 28 oz. of tomatoes, 1- 14 oz of tomato sauce, ground beef and lasagna noodles. Yes, I know it's hotter than hades here, but we use to get this soup up north and we both miss it. Plus, it's supposed to rain all day on Sunday, again. Then we stopped at home, unloaded and got my SUV, went to our Publix, got gas in my car/SUV and came home and settled in.

NOT that I am ready for anything remotely Pumpkin whatever, but I did bring out the Hocus Pocus cup and had a nice cup of Italian coffee this evening. Gosh, it was so nice to have a cup of coffee.

So, that is it...I shall post photos once I get the table done up for fall. Have a great Sunday all.

P.S. We never made it to Costco, well we did, but the line was down the parking lot to get in. No thanks-it was raining and neither of us really had a desire to fight that crowd.

Tuesday Meme on a Saturday

Good morning from a rainy central Florida. No pool time today, oh well, hubby wants to go out and about anyways.

Hello! You are so welcome here at Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
I hope you are enjoying the questions and the chance to blog about your likes, dislikes and opinions and find out about those of other people.  Be sure to visit around.  That is part of the fun.

Let's inquire about stuff....

1. What gets your blood to boiling? People who choose to be ignorant and remain that way. Also, liars, no need to lie, but hey, that's on you, not me.

2.What does a really good day look like for you? A good day is when I can pack up the beach stuff and get to the beach. Just sitting there watching the waves and take a nap. LOL

...BTW, the beach stuff stays packed up in the trunk...one just never knows when she needs to escape, that is according to hubby, LOL.

What makes you say, "That was a great day"? Any day when I can walk out of those prison gates and go, "Well, now, thank you Lord for a good day, no CC'S, no DR.'S, no yelling, everything went smoothly." Unfortunately, those are few and far between.

...I will say, any day and every day I walk out of those prison gates and get to go home to a loving husband, a house, dog, cat is a good day.

3. Are you continuing to grow mentally, spiritually, talent wise or are you just marking time? To the latter, I am just marking time, and I really need to get in gear to start the professional licensing needed to keep the job. I have my temporary license...I just really am dragging my feet. New demands are being sent down from Tallahassee it seems every day, and frankly, I am just too tired to care. What was needed for the job when I first started, have changed dramatically. Now it's being talked about that we will go on salary like regular schoolteachers, but we work year around. Yeah, no. (and why do I currently stay? The benefits.)

4. Have you changed your hair style since high school?  Yes and no...I once had long thick hair down to my rear and when I had cancer when I was 36 yrs old, it all fell out. My hair has a mind of its own now...always goes to the right and its thin and I keep it at the collarbone now. Sigh, it has taken many years to realize I will never have long beautiful hair again. A coworker just asked me yesterday why I don't like my photo taken and go kicking and screaming when someone wants to take my photo...well, folks, it's just hard to see myself at 58 years old and all my life I have suffered from unresolved self-esteem issues. The coworker, "But your just so lovely and pretty." Thanks...yeah, well, especially these last nearly 4 years with losing our son has a taken a toll. I have been working on myself since then...just keeping it real.

LOLOL...yeah...well...yeah...well, hubby wants to get going, he wants to go down to the new Costco in the Villages, not that we need anything, ok, fine, but then we are going to Marshalls. LOL---oh no, you want to drag me kicking and screaming, we will also to Marshalls, LOL.

Have a great day.

Out with the Old...

Good morning. Another hot one today...what else is new, right? Well, how about out with the old...While reading the Evening Tribune from where we used to live in NY, found something very interesting.

Oh wow, you can see our former house of 9 yrs. LOL

Out with the old and in with the new (soon). Tearing down the old high school gym. Shocking really...32-million-dollar budget so says the newspaper. Anyways, yes, I still read the paper, I know, it's been nearly 4 years since we left.

As much as I complain about the humidity here, life is better in flip flops than snow boots, just saying. LOL

WISHING YOU ALL A GREAT DAY!

Hodgepodge...

Good morning...no need to say from the swampy, we all know it's true LOL.

1. What's worth standing in line for?

hmm...maybe the movie theatre. I am not much of a line person...my patience is one of a knat. LOL--I will say, it's worth waiting for the guy who cuts my hair. So, I can guess I can count that. LOL

2. Tell us about a favorite food related memory.

When we moved to Hudson, NY all those years ago and went over to Stockbridge, MA every Thanksgiving to the Red Lion Inn. They served a 10-course meal. It has been over 30 yrs now since we have been back. Hubby and I were discussing this, and we both think we should make plans for next Thanksgiving to fly up to Boston and rent a car.

3. What are some things you find particularly peaceful or calming?

Floating away in the pool, walks in the woods (not here in Florida though, LOL), the ocean etc.

4. Is there something you do now that gets you just as excited as it did when you were a child?

Sigh...no, not much...probably the ocean...it used to be the holidays, but since our son is gone now...sigh.

5. To what degree are you in touch with friends from grade school? None  High school? FB, that is it--I have 2 I speak too. College if you attended college? I have one, she was my mentee, and she is a young mom of two now, smiles.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Thankfully, no storms yesterday. And sadly, I did not win the lottery either, LOL. So, yeah, still here, living the dream working a 40 hr week job, slaving away, LOL.

Have a great day all!

p.s. yikes, this post was sort of depressing, LOL.

Yesterday's Storm...

A good Tuesday morning to you all. I hope this post finds each of you in great spirits. Since I don't take to many photos, thought I would share the photos I did happen to take yesterday sitting in traffic. The storm we got yesterday late afternoon-early evening was something else. The cloud to ground lightening was something else.

While waiting at the time clock, I was trying to figure out how to get to the Front Support without getting hit by lightning and thought for sure I would have to stay awhile. There was a bit of a lull, so I made a run for it, bad mistake...the stupid girl officer would not let me in (we have to go through Front Support to get out of the compound). She looked straight at me and turned around. Finally, she let me in, it took a lot of banging on the window etc. Then she had the nerve to yell at me about banging on the window. I might had called her stupid, and didn't she see the lightening? My words meant nothing to her. Anyways, made a mad dash to the car and no sooner I got in, it started pouring.

Above on Old Gainesville Road, a couple miles from work. Heading home. Road already flooding.

Sitting in traffic on south 441/301. Don't worry about the yellow light in my car, I had turned the turbo on.

Man was it ever dark, the photo really doesn't catch it, but trust me, it was dark. You can see all the water/flooding. At one point, near the Courthouse, the water reached the top of my tires.

South 441-301 the rain was so heavy, and the roads were flooded. The radio said 2-3 inches had already fallen. But that is Ocala, well, pretty much all of Florida, we do pretty much sit at sea level, even central Florida. You can see how much rain was falling, the sky was something else. Sadly, I couldn't capture the lightening.

That storm had come out of the Gulf. Not the Atlantic, however, while waiting to clock out, I was watching the news in the staff canteen and high tide was being shown from Daytona, the storm out in the Atlantic is pretty powerful, high tide had pushed the water all the way up to the storm wall and waves were something else. Ok, that's all I got, LOL.

Wishing you all beautiful day.

Currently...

Good morning. I was putting off doing this past week's memes until today and I then looked at the memes and my brain went blank. Poof...just like that.

Just keeping it real, folks.

Yeah, ok...moving along. Nothing to see here, LOL. 😉

Weather...ok, it's Florida...hotter than hades, we all know it. At 8:16 am it is 77*and real feel 87*. Cloudy.

The last photo on my phone...

our daily thunderstorms, some look innocent and sometimes the sky is just ominous.

While driving home from work the other evening...I am sure I showed it...it's pretty sad because I don't think to take photos.

Then...hubby wanted ice-cream yesterday. So, we got out of the pool, put on proper clothes (shorts and tanks) and since we needed to put gas in my SUV for the week...off we went.

Not my photo, because we all know I forgot to take a photo. Got it off their website.

Our favorite, Twistee Treat on State RD 200. He had a Butterscotch milk shake and I had a Caramel Sunday. It was a nice treat.

Watching...I got caught up on my YouTube shows late yesterday:

Primal England (you want a dose of reality, go see Molly the dog and her human Nigel)

The Scottish Isle (want a dose of Scotland and home improvements, go see Scott and Katie)

The American Highlander (want another dose of Scotland, go see Jason)

Irish Homestead (want a dose of home improvement and Ireland, go see that channel)

The Domain Sauvage (want a dose of the French countryside and everyday living, go see Phillipe and Anicia)

Kirsten and Jorge (a lovely German couple in England who travel to B &B'S)

Danu's Irish Herb Garden (want to learn about holistic plants and etc. Go see Terri)

All are receptive to comments etc.

On that note...I am done with Bealtaine Cottage. I cannot come to grips with someone supporting the lies of Hamas.

Listening...the central ac came on. Other than that, all is quiet.

Thinking...I still have not found a new doctor. Labs and the appointment are coming up next month. And honestly, I just want to be done with being treated like a stupid person. She and I are going to have to have a "Come to Jesus" moment. And I really don't like confrontations.

Celebrating? Nothing in particular. But we did stay in the pool yesterday morning until noon. It was just nice to float away worries. Today, doesn't look we will be able due to overcast and cloudy conditions.

Grateful...for a lazy weekend...no grocery shopping was needed...just putting gas in my SUV for week. Didn't even stop anywhere but the ice-cream drive through and 7-11 for gas.

So, that is about it for here...

Saturday, August 16, 2025

Currently Saturday...

Good morning, Saturday. So glad it is the weekend.

Currently...

Weather...real feel 78*. Humidity 98% at 8:35 am. Thunderboomers and lightening are expected later today. They have been very intense as of late.

I'm drinking-was coffee. Already finished it.

I'm thankful...another work week behind me. 2,300 some more days until retirement. Come on lottery, LOL.

I'm going to...head out to the pool in a bit.

I'm listening to...nothing at the moment. I was listening to Skillet-a Christian rock band. Wait, what? you ask. You read that right.

One of my favorite things...

Heading over the bridge to the beach. This one is in St. Augustine. Although I detest bridges, there is just something about smelling and seeing the ocean.

I'm wearing...still sleep attire: green flowered sleep shorts and blue tank. Yes, I know, I am 58 years old and dress like a teenager, get over it. LOL

Keeping in prayer...over work. So yeah...I know the bossman was spoken to, he apologized in his own way. After much reflection on my part, his IQ is way up there (think Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory) he just needs to stop and think before he says anything. Quit trying to fix everything. Yes, I said all that.

A moment from my day...our phones are not allowed in at work, so no photos...but I will tell you, this humidity is just about ready to do me in. I think it's about done all of us in... emotions are running high with everyone. I hit the ground running as soon as I get there and stay running (figuratively) until 5:00 or so when I let them go to chow and I have an 1/2 hr.-45 min. to write reports and lesson plan.

Dinner? More like breakfast, lunch, dinner...hubby surprised me with two 20-inch pizzas last night from our favorite pizza place 484 pizza: one pepperoni and one pepperoni and sausage. I swear, I don't know what he was thinking, LOL. The slices are huge. Anway's, I have mentioned it before its NY style pizza, and it's owned by a Puerto Rican family.

Not ok...listen, I am all for free speech, but I do have my limits,"...since the Orange Hitler..."--that comment was not allowed and put in the Spam folder. It is NOT ok to call someone Hitler, period. This TDS is getting out of hand. I don't agree with everything the man says or does, but calling someone that name, it should be wiped off the face of the Earth. He is no Hitler not ever even remotely.

Weather 102: Hmm...still keeping an eye on Hurricane Erin and something in the Gulf. The Atlantic and Gulf are way to warm, ripe for storms.

Smiling...

Wishing you all a beautiful day. I really need to get caught up on your blogs.
