Hey Y'all

Just a quick drive by (lol). I am ok, etc. Work, work, work...and by the time the weekend comes, the folks just want to go and go.

that would be Kim. One of the folks who we are staying with.

The other day we went up to Gainesville to the Bass Pro Shop-beautiful place but lousy customer service. I'll get to the memes this weekend and answer emails, comments etc.

Father's Day Front Porch Chat...

Linking back to Monica for the Front Porch Chat.

P.S. I just found over 28 messages in SPAM. So sorry and thank you Jeanette for saying something on your blog. WHY ARE COMMENTS GOING TO SPAM?

I'll just leave this subject here. My husband is not up to par today in regard to remembering its Father's Day.

Time: 9:30 am. Been up since 6 though.

Scene: 88*partly sunny but calling for severe storms later after lunch.

Drinking: I already a cup of

Kim found her 1 cup basket for the Kehrig, we all have been enjoying a cup of this.

Listening to: Kim and Bob--she is painting the living room and they are bantering back and forth.

Watching: Does paint dry mean anything? grin or how about keeping an eye on the weather because the laundry is out. Yeah its "soupy" out.

takes on a new meaning, airing my dirty laundry, grin

Randomness: Let's see...I did read your comments from a few days ago

---Yes, it's hot and the humidity here is something else. It is what it is. AND one does not have to use much or any moisturizer on one's face, just saying.

---However, the hair is another issue, LOLOL.

---And all that changed once we moved back here. Let's just say, glistering / shimmering takes on a whole new meaning, LOLOLOL.

---Bob spent the last week in Sarasota and was kind enough to remember Jasimine is one of my favorite things.

don't worry he bought his wife home some too, LOL.

AND he bought home Ham Salad, which I have not been able to find anywhere here. He found it at a Mennonite Market.

---visited my folks yesterday...and I wish my husband would quit pushing this subject. I know where I stand with my parents. There is not one photo of our son anywhere, all the photos are of my brothers' kids. Go ahead and ask me how I know...because I was nosy. I'm over it because I am deeply troubled, and the good Lord knows it. I will leave it at that.

*** and there no photos of me either.

---Speaking of one's parents...thank you and Kim thanks you for the kind thoughts regarding her mom. No funeral plans etc. Yet. Maybe next weekend.

Scripture:

Just keeping it real. I think if I was being truthful to myself and the good Lord, sometimes, a person just has to walk away and let God do the healing on his time. AND if I was being truthful, the hurt only gets worse regarding my folks. I can't fix or work on something if I don't know the true meaning on why and I have asked AND they just sit there stone faced. Ok then...moving on.

The Simple Woman's Daybook...

Somehow the week got away from me, yet again. Thank you all for the kind thoughts/comments...I had good intentions of answering your comments, honest I did.

Today is Thursday June 16

Outside: it's 95 degrees at nearly 9 pm/ Yep...it's that hot out. The heat index has been hovering around 105.

Thankful for: For you...and the love that has been shown to us.

Thinking: Our 'housemate', Kim, lost her mother this afternoon. Luckly she was with her when she did pass on to Glory. All we could do is be here, listen, pray and cry with her. Been there, doing it still. Just keeping it real.

Wearing: I don't care what our hosts/housemates think, but it's been so hot, I have been coming home and throwing on pj's; gray Pj shorts with coffee cups and a pink tank with Sunday Funday on it.

Going: I have tomorrow off, since I was eligible for a paid personal holiday that had to be taken before June 30, I elected to take it tomorrow. So many things to do in regard to the house buying etc.

Wondering: I was offered the teaching job at the prison...I am somewhat shocked---because rumor has it, I am moving up to fast. Jealousy rules the roost with some. And I simply don't understand that concept.

Praying: Keeping so many in prayer...I often fall asleep before I can finish. I know the good Lord knows...

Looking forward to: Finally, getting settled if or when in our own home.
*** I am forever thankful for our friends who have put us up during this very difficult time(s).

In the kitchen: My husband has been kind enough to cook for us--but since I am not working tomorrow, he wants to go out since we will be out and about. It' a date day (not night, lol)---we usually have Bob and Kim with us. Kim is going into work for a bit and then heading over to the funeral home .

    Scripture:

AMEN.

Thinking...

This past Saturday was 6 months since our son passed thru those beautiful pearly gates and into our Lord and Saviors arms. What a beautiful thought. Thinking before I head off to the j-o-b this morning...

I could just leave it at that...but I want to quickly say...thank you for your kind comments and thoughts...and emails. You def. warm my heart.

Front Porch Chats

Thank you all for the kind comments from last night's post. Linking back to Monica for the Front Porch Chats...

not a front porch, but our friends living room

Time: 10:20 am

Scene: 82* but real feel is 89*, partly cloudy. The temp is why I am not out on the front porch. It is like pea soup; thick.

Today's Plan: hang up the laundry. As humid as it is, it won't take long to dry.

Drinking: I already had my 1 cup of Keurig coffee with Italian creamer.

Listening to: Nothing much. Pretty quiet. My husband is outside, Kim is dealing with an issue with her 80 yr old mother (they are admitting her to hospice today-she has severe dementia), Bob (Kim's husband) is on his way home from Vero Beach to help her and then he is heading to Sarasota for a job (he works for security firm). All TMI. {{{grin}}}

Watching: nothing yet. I need to get caught up on my Youtube videos.

Randomness:

--please Kim in prayer...the time has come to put her mom in a safe environment and the end of life is coming sooner than later.

--please keep my dad in prayer. Unfort. he is not doing as well- as expected-- in recovery for his hip replacement back in late April. And all (them and the dr (s)) are concerned.

--this world needs the good Lord. So much evil going on between the social engineering, the government(s) etc. So, let's keep in general prayer.

Thought for the day:

UH OH Oopsie Daybook...

It's a Uh OH Oopsie Simple Daybook Post...

Saturday June 11, 2022

Outside: Rain incoming and 96*, dewpoint 72*, humidity 59%.

Thankful: Uh oh...oops, sorry and apologies, have not posted or FB in a week. Thankful for having a job with benefits. I am. fine. Truly. Just tired. Not only am I learning my job, but I am also working towards to being certified to teach the GED AND TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) Programs at work/prison. Not many folks have the education to do so...and the prison is in dire need of someone. The good Lord is leading this direction...why? I dunno.

Thinking: We finally narrowed down a home today. You can view it here: Clayton. It's a 4-bedroom 2 bath home. I am not crazy about the kitchen cabinets as I wanted white. But overall, it's a nice home. We are just waiting for the final approval-it will take a week or so. The best part? It has NO carpeting, NONE. The photos must have been taken somewhere else.

Wearing: Blue jean shorts, white t shirt that says Gator Nation with the Univ. of FL emblem on it and pink flip flops.

Creating: nothing

Going: just came back from town; Clayton, Walmart and then Bojangles for lunch/dinner. Gas is now $4.89 here in central FL.

Wondering: when are folks going to wake up and proclaim enough is enough.

Reading: Nothing really. There was a really good Bible lesson yesterday at work, receiving and giving.

Praying: About this loan and house. If it's HIS will then it is.

Looking forward too: next Friday. Being forced to take my personal holiday. That is one thing with the State-1 personal holiday a year and sick leave adds up too.

Learning: Not sure that my patience will last in dealing with some things.

In the Kitchen: we stopped at Bojangles and got chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, dirty rice and sweet tea for dinner. **on that note I started this at 5 pm and its now near 7, sigh.

Around the Homestead: Not much. It has been raining nearly every afternoon here. Summer is upon here in central Florida as is the hurricane season.

Scripture:

I am under no illusions that my job is dangerous etc. With that said, I firmly believe every person should be warranted an education and the State of Florida requires every inmate to get a GED, including 'lifers'... I have enjoyed being back in the classroom part time--and wherever the Lord leads me, I shall go.

Tuesday Meme

Hello! Glad you are back for more of Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4..  If you knew Toni you would know that coffee was one of her great pleasures in life.  So friends, let's talk about those two popular drinks tea and coffee. Okay?  Let's go....

1. What is/are your favorite coffee? (brand or flavor)  If you are a tea lover, which tea is the best for you?

Well, normally I would buy Finger Lake Roasters if we were still in NY...BUT since we are not in NY anymore and the price of coffee has gone up to $13 a pound, yeah...so, Publix or Walmart Keurig brand right now. As for Tea, I only buy Twillings; Lady Gray, Earl Gay, English Breakfast or Irish Tea.

2.  How do you take your coffee or tea? Sugar, cream , flavoring?

Italian Sweet Cream and 2 sugars, please. Even in tea.

3. Do you go out for coffee/tea with friends?

No, sadly.

Ever enjoy a real tea room or a  tea party?

Once and it was really nice.

4. If you could design a coffee shop or even a coffee/tea station in your home, what would it be like?

I like the idea of a seasonal bar, but since we are living in FL now...

I like the beach theme, grin.

as for a coffee shop. How about books and coffee?

Oops Sunday Chat...

OOPS, I just realized May 30 was the last day I had posted. Last week was a short week at work, nonetheless, it was a very busy one. Between recovering from the asthma attack, certain dorms shutting down to the c word, prisoners had to be moved, had to walk to the other side of the compound in million-degree weather to pick up a pallet of records, and an audit on the vault records, oh and still learning my job, yeah...I was feeling a little burnt out. You'll be happy to know I did indeed survive. ((grin))

Flagler Beach, FL June 4, 2022

A little r and r were on tap for yesterday. Linking back the meme to Monica.

Time: 7:15 am

Scene: Extremely humid and 69*. Suppose to be in the mid 90's today with 60% chance of showers.

Today's Plan: Supposed to get our (me and hubby) haircut. Yep, on a Sunday. Living back in Florida has def. been somewhat a culture shock to say the least. F-R-E-E-D-O-M rules or as my husband says, "The land of plenty".

Drinking: Nothing yet. I really need to get around though...we did bring home Krispy Kreme donuts yesterday, I already had one, grin.

Listening to: Everyone is up and getting around. WHY??????? Is the question.

Watching: Nothing. I have been coming home by 5:30 and crashing by 8. 4:30 am comes awful early during the week, just saying. grin

Randomness:

We made the short 45-hour trip over to Flagler Beach and I was plum excited to feel like I was going to fall off the Earth, LOL. YEP, that's the Atlantic straight ahead.

We quickly got ourselves unloaded and I begin to collect shells.

There was one lone fisherman fishing. He was very nice and said he hadn't caught anything. He repeated several times there is a storm brewing out there. Indeed, the skies did look ominous at times. But nonetheless, it was nice.

awwww....and one little fish didn't make it back out to sea. I know most of you saw my post on FB in regard to me finding a Sharks Tooth and then promptly losing it, sigh. I was so excited as it was a game me and our son played. I was so excited that I was jumping up and down and fell on my rear in that soft sand, LOLOL. I am quite sure Liam was looking down from Heaven laughing and doing the cuckoo sign, LOL. Yes, it was a tad bit bittersweet and sad. I did bring home 2-gallon bags of seashells. Which prompted a comment from my husband, "Did you leave any? And hey, you do know we live in Fl right? You can come to the beach anytime." I plan on decorating our second bathroom in a beach theme.

Since the skies were looking pretty ominous by midafternoon, we went over to JT'S Seafood Shack. I had hushpuppies and fries, my husband, Kim and Bob all had shrimp and grits. Kim and Bob always go there to eat when they camp/tv at the beach. Then we went over to Buc-ee's--the world's best and largest gas /rest stop around. Want to talk about a sensory overload? Yep.

took this off the web. Yeah, it's a city in itself, rolling eyes.

Then we stopped over to Harley Davidson in Daytona. Yeah...I shall refrain from mentioning its another sensory overload.

On the way home we did stop at the Barberville Art Emporium. A very funky place. AND another sensory overload. I was itching to get back to the beach for peace and quiet...yeah...nope.

I wish I could state my batteries were recharged and ready to start another work week, but nope...not. I am still on beach time. And the best thing about yesterday? I didn't have to bother about getting dolled up; wearing a bathing suit, a cover up, a ballcap and flip flops were the norm for the day. GRIN

Amen to that. (((GRIN)))
