Last Saturday of June Post(s)...
Good morning from Humid Florida. I came home before lunch yesterday; the ac wasn't working at work, and I was not feeling well (understatement). Was supposed to go into a "4-hr. working lunch" aka teambuilding meeting and told the boss, "Sorry, I got to go." Not an issue-I had already finished my duties for the day. I have about had enough of this extreme humidness...P.S. you might be surprised to learn that the majority of prisons here in Florida do NOT have ac. Yep. That.is.cruel.in human. Our offices/admin. buildings do.
ANYWAYS...

| is what I was thinking on the drive home. |
2. What was the first thing you learned how to cook? I really don't remember, probably my grandmas Sarma.
Do you prefer to cook or bake? I like both.
3. What are some of your current priorities in this season of life? Elaborate.
Right now, economically, just trying to survive, seriously. We just paid a quarterly $950 house insurance bill, and we are talking about letting it go next season...we simply can't afford it. It's up 150%. No lie. I guess this years hurricane season will foretell...btw, there are 4 storms heating up in the Atlantic. We had a monster storm yesterday, wow...it was something.
4. How much time do you spend on your hair each day or, put another way, what's your hair care routine? Well, you would think humidity would be good for hair, right? Yeah, not. Baby fine hair here. I use Paul Mitchell products (shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, mousse) use the blow dryer, curling iron, spray it and that's it. My hair does what it wants. And no sense in making it do otherwise. As soon as I walk out in the morning, forget it...
Do you get it cut regularly or just whenever the mood strikes? I get it cut every 4-6 weeks. Do you go to the same stylist every time? Yes, although when I went last week, he wasn't there, so a lady cut it...I shall refrain from further discussion...when I go back in 2 weeks, he will fix it. Do you tell your stylist everything? Nope. He speaks to me (rather the hair), I prefer not to say anything. Actually, when I first started going to him, and walked in, he goes, "Come and sit and let me look." And voila, he is amazing-how's come men can figure out what do to do with a post cancer post-menopausal (non?) hormonal woman and a woman stylist can't? Any other beauty treatments you indulge in throughout the year? Nope. I had to change my whole beauty routine since moving back here, including deodrant. LOL
5. What is the most awe-inspiring place you've visited? I don't know...we have been many places. Niagara Falls, Boston/Quincy Market, Seneca Falls, NYC, etc...I just don't know. All the places we have been to have been amazing.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
This week is all about you …
1. Were you an adventurous child at all? Yes...what humidity? It didn't seem to bother me.
2. What were some of your favorite places to go when you were a child? Amusement parks, movies, restaurants... zoo. etc? Disney was relatively cheap back then, my folks always had season passes and Floridians had deep discounts, not anymore. Busch Gardens etc... Silver Springs, we use to do it all.
3. What games did you play outdoors? indoors? I don't remember, things like tag, dodgeball, baseball...inside it was always board games etc.
4. Where did you grow up and do you think it affected who you are today? I grew up right here in Ocala. Sure, it affected me who I am today. I couldn't wait to leave at 18 and did. I always knew I would end up back here or Alabama (where we spent 19 yrs-20 yrs). But when our son suddenly passed away, my husband thought it best he bring us back here...and here we are. NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING. Never in a million years (though) did I think we couldn't afford to live or not afford a proper stick house. Never in a million years did I think I would be spending my middle age in a mobile home community. And, folks, reality is what it is. Again, NOT COMPLAINING. The humidity must be getting to my brain, yeah, that's my story I am sticking to it, lol.

| if you call swampy extreme humidness beautiful, then ok. lol |
1. What is most important to you. Faith/my belief in Jesus, integrity, friends, family etc.
2. Your best trait. People tell me that my brutal honestly, my loyalness and my nearly black colored eyes.
3. A movie that makes you happy. Just one? The Birdcage.
4. Something that excites you. Seriously? Each and every time.
6. Actions you admire. Loyalty (there is that word again), honesty/truthfulness.
7. What year has been your best so far. Hmm...don't know.
8. Who do you trust? God, that is it. Well, my husband...but that is a different subject.
9. A Song from Your Childhood. Bohemian Rhapsody
10. What you wore today. It is 8:30 am and I am still in pj's, green flowered sleep shorts and pink tank.
11. A book you are currently reading. Nothing at the moment.
12. What do you want less of? Profanity and women with tattoos.
13. A question that needs to be asked. Why do folks believe everything that is told to them from our own government and the world body. Or as my husband says, "Stupid is as stupid does."
14. The best idea you’ve had this week. Hmm...Two great feats I might add...kept my big mouth shut when I was being verbally attacked at work by two coworkers this past Friday. And I kept my fingers from replying back to a rude email from a US Marshall whose service has two of our inmates in current custody.
15. How are you creative? I am really not. I know my strengths and weaknesses.

Another week...
Another week gone by. Another week of the Tuesday Meme.
Howdy friends and welcome back for another of Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
I need renovations throughout my home and that includes the kitchen. So, I've been collecting pictures with ideas on painting my cabinets, replacing my 1957 kitchen window, my cracked tile floors and my rusty sink and damaged counter tops. Could be talk about kitchens for a bit?
1. Is this kitchen in the photo one that you would enjoy working in? What a cute kitchen! I love it. Did you have one of those step stools in your home growing up? Not growing up, but later in my adult years. Come to think of it, I haven't seen it in years, wonder where it went?
2. What appliances are absolute necessities in your kitchen and what can you do without. The microwave and stove are a must. I haven't had a dishwasher in like 10-11 yrs. So, I would like a dishwasher.
3. What items are always in your pantry?
Pasta, canned tomatoes and sauce, rice. You can make anything out of those items.
4. How about your counter tops... filled with things or empty?
I don't have much for counter tops as our kitchen is L shaped, so, there is a toaster, and a microwave. It's pretty empty. I need to really get around and take updated photos.
Random thought...so yesterday, there was major excitement that my husband captured on his phone. He said Ms. Lily Belle was herding these ducks to safety-thru the front gate. They were lost in our backyard. Strange. Usually, we get huge birds that pick the worms etc.

Tuesday Meme...
Sorry I missed the meme this past week.
Welcome back. Toni Taddeo began this Tuesday 4 Tuesday 4 question and answer postings, and I am continuing it in her honor...
1. How do you feel about rainy days? Do they make you happy or sad? Do they always get you down?
I love rainy days...they are brief showers here in Florida, yesterday was a prime example. We had a pouring rain for about 10 minutes and then it stopped. It.did.not.cool.off-it only made the humidity worse.
2. How about Monday. Do they get you down or do you think that just might be a habit of negative thinking?
Work is always busy Mondays and Tuesdays. I can't even begin to explain to anyone how busy it is. The sheriff's departments deliver the convicted women Mon-Thurs. from every single 67 counties here in Florida. This coming Monday we will get 32 convicted women in. I suppose it could be a negative thinking. Workload is always divided between the 3 of us, usually I get the extra commits and the huge commits (more than 3 counts). It usually takes anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to do 1 commit and they have to be put in within the 24 hr time frame. Frenzied is more the word than anything. By 4 I am mentally worn out because one has to speed read the commits, and even call the sheriff's dept. or the courts. Lately, the courts just don't seem to care to get it right.
3. Did you play in puddles as a kid? Yes. I can remember one time we were out at a family friend's house here in Crystal River, out on the farm, and it had been storming and us kids (maybe like 8 yrs old?) were out playing; my mother was furious. lol--I remember coming home in just a t shirt. LOL
4. Are there foods/meals that you find especially comforting on stormy days? Nosy people want to know!! No not really...I like soup. But it has been so hot here, I have cut down on the meals now.
