Good evening, a quick dip in the pool and the dog even got a nice, refreshing bath...and now we are settling in for the evening. I haven't been able to sleep all week, it just has been so hot, and we have been getting late evening overnight storms, yes, we have central ac and ceiling fans, but it just so hot. Anyways, how about the Tuesday Meme? Thanks Annie, truly appreciate these memes.

Hodgepodge
Good morning, sliding into the Hodgepodge.
2. July 23rd is national lemon day. Are you a fan of this flavor? Love it. What's a favorite dish or beverage you enjoy that calls for lemons? Lemonade and Lemon Bars.
3. "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade"...is this something you're pretty good at managing? Have you had to do this recently? If so, tell us about it.
Usually...because being on this Earth for 59 years and dealing with life in general certainty has given me lemons. Hence why it's probably a good idea for me to do above and get away from people...lol...anyways, just this week, my one inmate aide that teaches the math part for me up and quit--well, she tried to quit and the bossman turned her down and then he fired her because she lied on me. Yeah, go ahead and burn bridges, to which she did. So, yeah, I gotta keep moving and figure this stuff out. Nothing new, just working in that environment. One has to know how to just keep going. I think it's something your born with, just saying or maybe it's the survival of the fittest. Hmm...I will have to ponder on that. 😎
4. Something you love that is lemon yellow in color? Hmm...what do I have that is lemon color? I really don't wear the color or have anything...oh wait, I do have a table runner that is yellow...yellow is not really my color. Which why the table runner is not out. LOL
5. How would you describe your attention to detail? I am a little obsessed and over the top and everyone including my coworkers know it.
6. Insert your own random thought here.

Tuesday Meme
Good morning, keeping y'all in prayer who live along the Gulf Coast and expecting Bertha.
1. What brand of shampoo do you think works best for you and what does it do for you? I have used so many different brands because of the climate we live in...so, I have gone back to the expensive Paul Mitchell products. I couldn't get them up north, but luckily, I found them here. I have fine limp hair...sigh...no amount of humidity will fix that.

Summering into the Hodgepodge
Good grief, somehow, the last two days got away from me, sorry about that.
3. July 16th is National AI Day. What are your general thoughts and/or experiences with AI? Have you purposely used it? I use it for lesson planning. Does it excite you, scare you, or worry you? A little of all three. What do you see as a benefit? Well, if I have a question, it usually gives me good answers, LOL. How about something relating to AI you see as a negative? It knows way too much, and how does it know too much? LOL --who are those bots inside this computer getting all these answers?
4. You're invited to a summer potluck and are asked to bring an appetizer, salad/side, or dessert. Which category do you go for and what are you bringing? It's always a dessert...and usually something from Publix.
5. It wouldn't be summer without the beach? lol ---you see where my brain is. LOL
6. Insert your own random thought here. I ain't got /nuttin. Nothing at all. This heat/humidity is frying my brain, LOL.

Hodgepodge
Good morning... thank you for your comments on yesterday's post. Jumping right into the Hodgepodge.
2. What was peaceful about today? Peaceful? Not so peaceful, I have to go have annual blood work done at 6 am and then hurry up and get to work as my first class begins at 7. Where to find time to eat, I don't know, because I had to fast. I do not look forward to having blood work done, they always leave my arm bruised.
3. It's National Blueberry Day (July 8). Will you celebrate? You can have one of the following right now-a slice of blueberry pie, a warm blueberry muffin, or a stack of blueberry pancakes...which do you choose? Hmm...love blueberry pancakes, I do have two cans of Oregon blueberries, so maybe I will make a cobbler than.
This or that-blueberries or raspberries? blueberries or strawberries? all of it...love blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. I like to put them in my yogurt.
4. Do you need a break? From what? LOLOLOL--Well, I have certainty loved being off of work for 10 days...now, if I can only think of a way to
...and sell seashells by the seashore. LOLOL
5. What has surprised you most about getting older? ... to be honest, nothing really surprises me anymore. Sure, I go "Wow"--but nothing really just surprises me. When our son passed away, it just took everything out of me, just keeping it real. You know what, it does surprise me of the younger generation wanting to go socialism, but should I be surprised? Probably not, history is really not being taught anymore and that just breaks my heart...teachers and professors are just too far left leaning for me, and these young minds are just falling for whatever. I see it in my nephews and nieces...and it's just sad. I experienced when I went back to school/college...I am surrounded by it at work...it's just sad. The hatred of one person who holds the highest office is just so sad...I could go on and on...but I will stop.
I probably should re word this question, "What has saddened you most about getting older?"
I pose this question every single day to myself...just being silly.
--where did 59 years go?
--hey, where did that line on my face come from?
--hey, how's come everything goes pop and crunch?
--then the startling reality, when the 300th America's birthday comes up, I will be long gone as I will/would be like over 100 yrs. old and our nieces and nephews will be our age. Yikes...got to get that thought out of my head.

Patriotic Hodgepodge
Good morning, we have been under a severe heat advisory for a couple of days now. We have been getting thunder and lightning in the afternoons and evenings- we got a monster of a storm last night, wow...finally some rain.
Onward to the Hodgepodge.
3. Red, white, or blue? Stars or stripes? Something you own besides a US flag with some combination of those colors or decorations as part of its design? Ok, I have a blouse:
4. What's one thing you want more of this summer: fun, rest, adventure, connection, quiet, or confidence? Elaborate. Rest & quiet-because I do have a stressful job, confidence to do what needs to be done. I really don't want to elaborate on the latter, but for some odd reason I have been procrastinating on an issue.
5. What was your ultimate, go-to summer activity when you were a kid? Disney or swimming.
Do you still do any version of that today? Swimming. Since we do have an above ground pool-having a pool is sort a must in Florida and since we couldn't afford an inground, we decided to get an above ground. BTW, it would cost upwards of $150,000 for in ground, crazy.
If you answered yes, does participating in this activity as an adult make you feel like a kid? No, not really. It is way too hot and expensive to go to Disney or Epcot right now, but if it wasn't, then I would probably say yes. Honestly, if your resident of Florida, theme parks should be either free or a deep discount and have block times for residents.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
The news has been reporting on several states like Conn., Massachusetts, Washington, Pennsylvania, Illinois, NC, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont are not officially participating in the America 250 on the National Mall. I see though, Sen. Fetterman and Sen. McCormick are doing something for PA and a bunch of businesses are also going on their own. It's sad, truly, the hatred of one man stands in the way of Patriotism. So, what I do I love about this country? (getting back to question 1) --what is there not to love? My love for this country is more than hatred of one man that folks seemingly have--drop that mic. OH and a new poll came out, 53% are proud to be American. How sad is that? You folks who are not Patriotic, shameful...that is not open for argument or discussion. Either you're for America or you're not. No, America is not perfect, but you keep plugging along to make it that way.

Tuesday Meme
It's time again for Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4 and this week our friend Susan suggested the topic of decorating our homes for the holidays, especially for the 4th of July as it is the USA's 250th birthday. So, let's do that.

Summering into the Hodgepodge
Good morning...and ugh...yes, indeed its summer here in Florida. At 4:50 am its already feels like 86*, yep.
2. What song always reminds you of summer? Vacation by the Go Go's.
3. What's something you remember about your childhood summers? Happy childhood memories of going to my grandparents in Chicago and Michigan. Do you think kids today get to enjoy summer the way you did as a child? Hmm...prob. not. Families are so splintered.
4. We celebrate Father's Day on June 21st. Do you favor your dad in looks or temperament? Both Tell us something about your dad. Or your husband as a dad. Or a son/son-in-law as a dad. Or your grandpa. My husband was an excellent dad to our son...sure they had their moments, but they were best friends. I am not going to elaborate as it makes me sad.
5. Let's wrap up with a summer this or that-
- flip flops or sandals flip flops
- beach or pool both
- watermelon or peaches both
- shorts or sundress shorts. I am to round to wear a dress, lol. Round is a shape, right? lol
- iced coffee or ice-cold lemonade lemonade
- amusement park or water park neither
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts regarding the dr. visit and my heart. I have had enough and I keep saying this, of the dr. situation here in Ocala. Don't know what the 'blip' is, and frankly, I am going to sound a little selfish, I really don't want to know and that is where I am and I know that upsets folks. Plus, the insurance will prob. not cover this new test...anyways, we shall see. I will more than likely follow thru with it, but right now...since no one has answers on why I need this test...well...this is where I am. I certainty do not like to be poked and prodded.
Have a great day all!
