Hodgepodge...

Good morning, rumor has it we will have a taste of fall next week, hmm...

1. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.' How does this saying ring true in your own family, either the one you grew up in or the one you made?

Well, I look like my dad and act like my mom. And they raised a strong resilient girl, period. So, yeah, the apple doesn't fall from that tree. Or maybe it does? Because my brothers, well, that is another story.

2. Something you're nuts about these days? Not too nuts about much anymore...however...How about something that's driving you nuts?

The current political climate. It's truly sad.

3. What does abundance mean to you?

Whenever I hear that word, I think of the song Amazing Grace. How He saved a wretch like me...yeah, that sums it up...and I can't get through it without bawling like a baby.

4. Caramel apple-caramel cake-caramel corn-caramel sundae-caramel macchiato...what's your caramel treat of choice? All of it please.

5. What's a childhood memory that always comes to mind as the leaves start to fall?

Not so much a memory but a feeling from adulthood...and I have said many times, I do miss the glorious seasons in upstate NY. Not so many in childhood because I was raised in Florida.

6. Insert. your own random thought here.

My boss yesterday, "When Doves Cry." Me--oh I love Prince and Purple Rain (because the bossman talks in riddles, all.day.long.) Bossman: I'm sick of you complaining about not having a computer at your desk and having to go out the gates to the Resource Room, "When Doves Cry." (Me grinning, because really, I'm not playing along.) ---apparently what I can decipher is, when his laptop comes in, I will get his computer. LOLOL--whenever that happens. LOLOL---gosh he mentally wears me out.

Mentally I am there...not in real life where it's still a zillion degrees and still wearing flip flops. lol

Have a great day all!!!!

  1. I love the pic at the end of this post. It reminds me of a street where I used to live in north Albany when I was first done with grad school, still single and teaching in downtown Albany.

YAY for AMAZING GRACE. I too sob through that song most times. Someone else mentioned Reckless Love.....we sing that sometimes in church and I get goosebumps.

I love your humor regarding your boss and your job. You always make me smile.

Our current situation in America is appalling.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week, flip flops and all!

  2. I agree fall in the northeast is a beauty. We are close to the mountains so can run up there easily, but there are a lot of pines in our area so it's not the huge swaths of color like you get up north. Hope you get that computer!

  3. I think some apples do fall close to the tree, others appear to have been tossed far!
Love that last photo, I'll sit there with you and have all the treats you mentioned! :)

  4. I'm with you on any the caramel items that were part of the hodge podge question, Linda. One of each, yes please! I'm also with you on the political climate; it is sad and when did we come to this point of lack of decency. Hope your Wednesday is a good one.

  5. The political climate drives me nuts, too, Linda. Let's pray for some common sense and love of God to take hold! Have a wonderful week!

  6. They keep teasing us with predictions of fall weather here in Texas and then saying "Oh, never mind-still going to be in the 90's." Ugh.

  7. I can only imagine how beautiful Fall is in the upper states. Each state has their pros and cons and for Texas, the con is that we do not have the beauty of Fall in our Area. Yep...I'm thinking you will end up with the bosses old computer...

  8. Good job to your parents for raising such a strong resilient girl.
Ugh! The political climate over here in the UK is awful too. It is so sad.

  11. For all your parents' faults, they did something right when they raised you. So they do deserve some good credit for that! LOL. Your boss seems to care about taking good care of you, and that's a good thing too. I'm sure he knows when he's got a great employee who needs to be properly taken care of. Good employees who are willing to work where you work and in those conditions are hard to come by. I hope that they value you for the wonderful person you are!
Oh, I hope fall weather is coming. But I hope it stays around too, because we'll be going to N. GA mountains next week, and hopefully it will be nice there, but I'd like to have it nice when I get back too! It's always hard to come back from there to here and find it hot and muggy still.
I hope you have a great rest of your week. Blessings.

  13. 'Amen!' to your definition of Abundance. It's not all about the Publishers Clearing House, folks.

  14. I love the changing of the leaves and that nostalgic feeling the fall brings with it. Even though I don't have specific fall memories from childhood, I do know that the grown-ups around me did love driving about and seeing the leaves at peak color. Hope you're having a great week!
