Good morning, another forgotten to "Post"...sigh...
Currently on this Saturday...
Weather- is 47* and sunny and the temps will continue to drop today. We are under 3 weather alerts from 7pm today: Wind, Extreme Cold, Freeze. Wind will be in excess of 45 mph at times, extreme cold with that wind will be 8* to 20* windchill. You saw that right. Hang on my fellow Floridan's the next 36 hours or so will be rough.
🤣P.S. Hey, you northerners come get your weather. 😉
Not enjoying- this cold weather. Like I told my husband last night, hey, didn't we move from NY to get away from this? He gave me that cuckoo for cocoa puffs look. lol
Watched-the news last night, Lottery Dream Home and Greg Gutfeld. I see the government has shut down yet again...you know...just my two cents, but both sides need to grow up. There are no more adults left, so it seems.
Because wackos want to defund ICE/DHS. Protests over Protests...just sick and needing mental help.
The husband-so he had his "consultation" and waited 2 hours, these dr. offices/surgical places have kiosks to check in... anyways, now he waits until once again, they (the dr. office) said probably March...in the meantime, the cataract gets worse and now, if the gvt. remains shut down, that will prolong long it even longer.
Listening to...the husband asking me (because he just woke up) if the government shut down and did the LA protesters burn down the Federal building because when he came to bed last night, they were almost there and a neighbor's dog is barking.
Thinking...
1. so, all the kitchen stuff / redo stuff remains piled piling up.
I came home the other day, and hubby was standing there grinning (???) and he goes, "Hey you didn't notice anything over there in the corner?" So, last weekend we went to my favorite consignment store, and I saw this beautiful blue marble island on wheels for sale...way out of my financial means ($350). ANYWAYS, he apparently snuck one over me and it was delivered the other day. He did not pay $350, he paid $200 total with delivery. He said since I shop there a lot (oh oh) the owner gave us/him a deep discount.
It has a drawer for pots and pans. Everything is on hold right now due to our "guy" who is working a bigger job. It's ok.
2. Homework...since there was yet another crisis to solve (walked into a mess yesterday) I had to bring my lesson planning home. Which is a big personal no no for me. But here we are...I will only lesson plan for the upcoming week and will allow myself a week-to-week basis. The bossman and I were talking, I am NOT that person to be 4 weeks ahead, sorry. Nope. Hopefully things will calm down enough and all this running around will cease to exist, righttttttttt? (I said this to him) He said, "Sure" not very convincing.🙄
3. Do I really need to be "productive" today. No, I don't think so. I do at some point need to get gas in my truck for the week.
Feeling-unmotivated.
Dinner--is it too early to plan? Putting on a pot (does crock pot count?) of chili. Why? Because its cold.
Laughing:

I'm chuckling about your lesson plan comment, Linda. I couldn't have planned 4 weeks out either. Working with kids who had moderate to profound disabilities put the kabosh on that and the administration during my last 4 years finally got it through their heads. Well, that is when they remembered! I hope your weekend is relaxing. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't send you our weather, cause it's still here! :) But supposed to make it to 24 tomorrow - hooray!
ReplyDeleteWhy would they want lesson plans 4 weeks ahead, that's crazy!
Nice island!
You are so right about the government.
One of my facebook friends posted a meme that said something like "hey, northern friends, come get your feral child". It made me laugh. It is 2 degrees at my house this morning with negative wind chills. It will be warmer tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI love your blue island! How nice of your husband. That will be handy.
I don't understand these people rioting against ICE. I hope they are paid protests, because the thought of people that feeble minded is scary. I am watching Ben Dykes on YouTube live as I am typing this. I also like Professor Nez. I watch Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly on YouTube too.
I am the 4 weeks ahead with lesson plans kind of gal. I like to plan for being sick just in case. Last year it was my mom's stroke. Next year might be different, we are changing curriculums. Stay warm. Have a nice weekend.

Stay warm, enjoy your chili, and embrace the frigid. Hot, sweaty days are in your future! 😅
ReplyDeleteI love your new island, Linda! We've had one for years now and it's one of our favorites. So useful in the kitchen. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteIn the summer, I might wish it was a bit cooler, but NOT COLD!! LOL That rolling island looks amazing! I can't wait to get through the next two days and put freezing behind us! Hope you have a relaxing weekend, Linda!
ReplyDeleteI wish your husband luck with his cataract. I'm not sure how his eye doctor could have first diagnosed it as a detached retina. I've had both, and they are very different problems. No matter where you get cataracts fixed there is a long wait. Almost all seniors need the surgery eventually. On the good side it is a very easy surgery with a good result.
ReplyDeleteThe Elsa joke ... 🤣🤣🤣 Yes, please apologize! ✨🥶
ReplyDeleteOnce the DemonRATS and RINO's stop showboating the Gov will open up again. Maybe they won't be jerks for long and Hubby can get the surgery done.
The island on wheels is super! Nice color too.
Y'all stay warm and safe. Love ya. 💓
That last meme is so me, spot-on. (Well, maybe without the tan.)
ReplyDeleteYour new kitchen island is beautiful; I love how Dave enjoys spoiling you!
Those forecasted strong winds have arrived on my side of town. Hubby had to go outside to secure better some of the bush coverings that had blown loose and were flapping. But the clear blue sky with abundant sunshine and watching the trees dance to the wind from our chairs in the lanai -- this is so nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm in central Texas and the temp is 36, only going to 38. (by Friday it will be 71) Sheesh, I left upstate NY to get away from the weather too. You sound too busy, wish there was something you could do to settle things down. Linda imagesisee.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHi Linda. Wow, that island with the marble top will be a great addition to your kitchen! Your husband got a great deal on it. Wow, I cannot believe how cold it is in Florida! We were up in the 50s here today, and still no snow. I'm with 100% on yet another government shut down and also the ICE protests. I don't lesson plan much more than a week ahead. When students are off-task, which is every day, we don't make as much progress on lessons as I hope. Have a good Sunday. Can't wait to see the new kitchen when it is all finished!
ReplyDeleteIt's cccccooooollllld here too, just up the road from you. We were supposed to have snow flurries last night at 6:00 pm, but I watched and waited, and none appeared here. And it was too cold to go outside and watch for them, so if they came, too bad, I missed them. Blackie is loving being inside with us. I may never get him back out. I LOVE the turquoise blue island! That is SO pretty, and SO YOU! Kudos to Dave for going back and getting it!! I can't wait to see your new kitchen, but I know these things take time. Praying for you and your job situation. Never a dull moment there it seems. May God keep you surrounded by His angels. I hope stay warm and cozy this day. We are still debating about whether or not we are going to church. Just not sure about it...John isn't feeling to perky (still in bed right now), so this may be a stay at home and worship day. Take care and God bless you both.
