Good morning let's get straight to it...
Currently at 7:30 am...15* and the pump is frozen. Solid. Hubby is out there trying to fix it etc. He has a heating lamp on it etc. No matter we let the taps drip, no matter the pump sits in its own insulated house. It is darn right cold, and it froze. And this is where we are this morning. Can not use the water or even flush the toilets. The wind is also blowing a good 10 mph. In Florida...you northern folks better come get your weather.🙄
UPDATE: as of 8:25 am hubby put the heat lamps on and the so far, the pressure is slowly rebuilding and there are no leaks. Praise the good Lord ---and praising the good Lord for having enough common sense to keep all the northern gear etc. Who would have thunk it--needing all the stuff we had up north. Hubby had to dig through his shed to find all the winter gear.
Not enjoying--this weather. NO. NOT AT ALL. And before anyone says anything, yes, we did live in upstate NY for 9 years.
Watched--a variety of tv yesterday and a movie. Playdate-bad language but all in all it was funny. If you have small children or grandkids, and because it's filled with bad language, don't allow them to watch it. Every once in a long while, I personally need a movie to just laugh myself silly.
Thinking--
At some point, I will have to get out of pj's and this blanket and be productive. I still have to work on the lesson plans for this week. Although, class rarely goes as planned anyways, so I wonder why I bother. These adult women are just like children, just saying.
We do have 2 space heaters on in conjunction with the central ac/heat unit. It's cold--that is an understatement.
🤣It ain't funny...truly it's not.😁

Glad you got the water flowing again! This weather is not what I moved to Florida for! Thankfully, it will be gone by Wednesday! Glad I have fuzzy socks and sweatshirts! Stay warm!! xo
ReplyDeleteYou'll survive. ....it is just kinda funny that folks in the south just can't seem to deal well with the below 40 degree temps. We've been laughing our heads off all week (well, not that some people have been seriously injured with all the ice down there...but you know what i mean). I'm loving our real winter here in Eastern NY....it's been a LONG time since we actually had snow for January for more than 2 days. I love it.

It's funny alright...We laugh when those northerners have 90* days and start whining! It's all a matter of where you live and what you are used to. Just saying.

ReplyDeleteOh Linda...I sure hope that the pressure picks up as the lamps do their job. It was miserably cold here yesterday...the wind made it even colder. Today is supposed to be better. I'm one that doesn't mind at all staying in my Pj's all day on a cold day. lol. Hope your week goes well.

ReplyDeleteAt 1:16 we're at a whopping 15*. We're watching the Reacher shows again. (Read as Tim's snoring through them and I look up now and then...it's the 3rd or 4th time he's put it on from beginning to end. Lord, I hope there's a new season coming.)

ReplyDeleteOur power (with SECO) was out for 2 hours this morning, going out just before sunrise. I was grateful as the daylight began streaming in the windows so our flashlights were not needed for long. All is good here now. Baked cookies this afternoon.

ReplyDeleteSorry the pump froze and am thankful it's all working again with no problems. So far we're OK, as far as I know. Might even venture out this evening for some Japanese food in Waycross. I've gotta hankering for some.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm finally ready for our temps to quit being so disrespectful. Thank goodness Dave got the water going again. I'd have probably panicked and begun making motel reservations.

Hi Linda. Yes, it sure is good that you kept your cold weather gear. I hope you warm up down there. We are in the 50s and snowless here in Utah. People are praying for snow because we really need it! I hope you have a good week. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I feel ya'll! Until today, we were below freezing, and most of the time below 20* with wind chills in the negative numbers. On top of that, we were covered with snow and ice. Matter of fact, we still have some of that mess hanging around! So looking forward to warming up this week!

It was definitely a cold night and morning. Thankfully the sun came out today and warmed it up a bit for a while, but it's going right back down tonight. At least the wind isn't as bad, and they finally have that fire here in Interlachen pretty much out. Thankfully no one was injured or no houses burned, but it was a big 300 acre fire close to a lot of people, some from our church, who were ordered to evacuate but they didn't as the order was lifted not long after. Anyway, it was scary. WE are thankful our power did not go out and nothing froze up. But we have 'city water', not a well/pump, so that is a blessing. Yes, we are ready for spring weather...

ReplyDeleteWe're having similar weather in SC and had almost three inches of snow on Saturday. We lived several times in the Northeast and I grew up there, but snow there is a whole 'nother ball game. They are so well prepared to deal with it and heating units are too. These heat pumps so common in the south are not. Hope you warm up soon!
