Saturday Post...

Good morning, already 75* at 7:30 am. The Weather Channel is calling for 60% chance of rain this afternoon, and something is cooking up in the Caribbean for late next week. I hope so, we are in a 100% drought here in our county. It's sad that we are so excited for the hurricane season, lol.

UPDATED 10:40 AM ---it has been raining since 9:30 am, or so, there has been no sun whatsoever, not complaining, it is beautiful to see the rain. Never got a chance to get in the pool yet. lol

Currently in these parts...

Watching...after coming in from the pool yesterday, we got caught up on all three episodes of Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spinoff. Then we went back out to the pool at 9 pm, it was 85*. Yep.

Reading...still nothing. Have little want too truly sit and read anything.

Listening to...the hubby, he is sweeping the floors and discussing the sad state of the world. Since we have a German Shepherd, she sheds, a lot. Enough said about that.

Eating/Ate...hubby was kind to go to Publix yesterday and get some Mardi Gras chicken wings--he was already out filling up my truck for the week. Where was I? Yeah---lazy daisy floating the morning away in the pool. Just saying ---oh and I did make a homemade butter cake with chocolate frosting late in the afternoon when it got too hot outside---yes, 🔥. Even the pool was warm at 84*.

Thinking...

...He parked both trucks, locked them and the gates up and that is where we are. Not doing anything, not going anywhere etc.

...really need to get painting the kitchen and cabinets. Am I? Nope.

...will be heading back out to the pool soon.

...I posted the Saturday 9, but it just wasn't working right.

...maybe sausage and eggs for breakfast.

...about the phone conversation I had with my mom yesterday, she called, actually several times, but since we were out in the pool, sigh. She was also a lazy daisy yesterday while my dad was gone with my one brother and the grandkids ballgame (why do you want to sit out in 97* weather? Just saying). My mom needs another breast cancer surgery for a tumor, it's not cancerous, nonetheless, she has to have another surgery. She and I were talking, because honestly, I think its heredity...and it's really sad that they found hers so late in life, as did they with my aunt (her sister). I was 35 years old and yes, it was miserable. That was 24 years ago...wow, where did the years go?

Feeling...Relaxed. Came in last night and took a hot shower, just to wash the chlorine off.

Giggling at...

100% true. Unfortunately, I know what snow tires are. LOL

Wishing you all a beautiful Saturday.

  1. I do hope your mom is able to have the surgery..Prayers for her as she goes through this. What a wonderful day for you and hubby as you both were able to relax and enjoy that Florida sunshine. Our pool is still too cool to enjoy. Even though it might be a great opportunity to paint the cabinets...I most likely would say "that can wait". Enjoy the weekend to the fullest...

  2. I think it's a good thing for you to be a lazy daisy this weekend and recuperate from the craziness at work!

  4. "Signs you're from Florida" -- I enjoyed this. Now that I've lived in Florida for just about exactly 9 years (this time; I've lived here before 2X), I can almost everything in this list speaks for me. Thanks for the smiles.

Praying the best for your mom.

  5. Hi Linda, I think pool therapy is just what you need! Paint can wait. I had to wait several weeks to get a mamo and ultrasound. Luckily they didn’t find anything! Praying your moms surgery goes well. You were so young when you got diagnosed. Enjoy your long weekend! 🇺🇸

  6. The weather here has been bi-polar. We have made it to the 90's and did not make it out of the 50's one day last week. It has been raining, so it has been cool. I think it is supposed to warm up this week, but we still have chances of rain and the humidity is back. Your blog looks so pretty! Have a nice holiday!

  9. You got rain all morning????? Wow! We are STILL waiting for the rain to fall. They keep moving the time back farther and farther, and then it just goes around us. There are puddles on the other side of town, and you know how small our town is...and we have nothing! So weird! But next week does look more promising. I'm glad you've been able to enjoy your pool anyway! And I'm glad you've been chatting with your mother. I will be praying for her as she goes through this potential surgery. Not fun at ANY age. So thankful to hear that it isn't cancerous, but still it is a concern. Tomorrow the "kids" will be here after church for lunch...hopefully the rain will hold off long enough for Scott to grill our chicken and some ribs. If not, then into the oven they will go. Our church is supposed to have a picnic on Monday, and hopefully the rain will hold off long enough, but golly, we really need the rain even more than food and bbq's. But God knows...and His timing is always perfect. I hope you relax and enjoy your extra time off even if you do absolutely NOTHING! (((HUGS)))

  11. Sometimes lazy weekends are needed!! We are being lazy today too (Sunday ) because it's been pouring rain since yesterday around 6 pm! I led a hike in the Berkshires yesterday morning and it was partly sunny but cool at 62. Now it's in the 60s but that damp rainy feeling. I think it will be a day for movies and books and good strong coffee.

The florida poster cracked me up.

Will say a prayer for your mom.

I love your blog look. Where do you get the templates you use and are they free? please do share.
