Hodgpodge

Good morning.  Yes, those love bugs get into everything, Debbie. sigh. Hocus Pocus, I need more coffee, lol.

1. What's something you may do this month? Umm...dipping into the pool and possibly finishing the kitchen, yes, it remains unfinished. Neither of us have any get up and go. LOL

2. Hola! Hodgepodge Day lands just after Cinco de Mayo... how do you feel about Mexican food? Love it. What's your favorite dish? Enchiladas Do you make it at home or is it a strictly dine out option? Strictly dine out. Speaking of tacos, hubby texted me about having tacos yesterday. Did we have tacos? NOOOOOOOOO...we had Stuffed Peppers. I was a little disappointed. LOL.

3. When the children of today grow up what do you think they'll say about this time period? Sigh...well...most of these young children are stuck on their gadgets and I am afraid we will end up like the movie Wall-E. Also, they are being fed lies, boys can't be girls, girls can't be boys, boys can't get pregnant, and so on. It's a mess. I know, I probably didn't answer the question.

4. What advice would you give a new mother? Relax. You only have a short time with them.

5. What's a phrase your mother often said to you? "Listen Missy, you think your *hit don't stink? Well, it does." If you're a mom do you say it to your own children? No, never. I never cursed or said bad things to him. Oh, we would have our moments of butting heads, but all in all, he was an easy child-young man.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

Someone left a comment about hugs at work. The inmates are not allowed to touch us and vice versa. However, the officers & administration are big huggers, and the majority of people are Christian. Some pray with you and some hug, and some do both. For the most part, we are family oriented, sure we get on each other's nerves etc. But all of us know, all that can be taken away--I am meaning death. We live and work in a very dangerous situation every single day. We do have health professionals we can go and talk to and no, it doesn't get reported.

  1. Oh, I just realized that I made taco meat last night on May 5th, and had a taco salad and hubby ate a burrito, and I never gave it a thought to being Cinco de Mayo! LOL. My subconscious must've known and directed me to cook Mexican food! LOL. Sorry you just got stuffed peppers, but maybe they had a Mexican flavor? And I'm glad that you have some good people at work that give good hugs and good words of advice when needed. That's a blessing. I hope today is a good good day for you! It's going to be a hot one, however...93!! Yikes. I hope your pool is ready!

  2. I have been helping get my mom moved these past two weeks and it took all my get up and go. There's a lot I should be doing at home but I'm pooped. It will get done eventually. Hope you enjoy your new kitchen!

  4. Interesting hodge podge questions! The one about the current generation and their thoughts about this time period made me snort my coffee (and not in a good way). They won't be able to form an opinion because they are not being taught to think independently. Have a good day, Linda!

  8. Mexican food -- enjoy it all. When I visited family in Texas I became addicted to freshly-made flour tortillas. It's just a good thing they aren't as readily available here.

  9. I love a good hug from a friend or family member, but I'm not a big hugger of folks I "sort of know." Does that make sense? Most of my co-workers are like family to me. It sure does make going to work a happier event!

  10. I hate to hear how some parents talk to their kids. They take them for granted. Now I want tacos!!
