Saturday Thoughts...

Good morning, another hot one on tap...it is the middle of May, so, yeah...

Temperature...70*, 61% humidity, 67* dewpoint. Yeah, a little sticky.

Watched...absolutely nothing. I was in bed by 6:30 and slept 11 hours straight. That lingering cough is just about done.

Have had enough...the ac in the portable where I work is on the blink. By 8 am my room read 79*, I let both classes go very early.  No sense in dealing with 26 different angry personalities, just saying. Keeping.it.real.

Listening...hmm...the hubby is feeding the cat and talking to it. The dog is lying next to me and is hmming and hawing because she wants her "spa" treatment (brushed and sprayed with coconut dog spray).
😉
--hubby took her the other day and got her nails done, if you know anything about a German Shepherd, they have to be pampered--as they have quite a personality. LOL

Thinking...about nothing in particular. Learning to sleep without a fan directly on me.

Needing to...

--to shower and get around.

--get haircuts today. Never did go get it done. Really need to. Shaggy DA is the word.

--need to fill up my truck--yesterday the gas price for $4.03. Oil closed yesterday at $101 a barrel. Rumor mill (aka the market) has it that if oil closes or gets above $111 a barrel, gas will be near $6 a gallon. NO ONE WANTS THAT. Me thinks, these companies are playing games. sigh.

--get in the pool at some point. I have not been in it all week. I have been coming home and just going to bed. I am just exhausted with dealing no ac at work; mentally worn down.

--needing to look into getting a dehumidifier for the bedroom. Why?

because my little sound / clock machine states 68* and 58% humidity and that is at 7 am.

Feeling...ok. Just hot, although the central ac and the ceiling fans are on. This humidity here, is just something else. You would think after 4 years of being back here, I would get used to it, nope. I haven't.

Making me laugh...

Wishing you all a beautiful day.

  1. I am praying that the A/C in your portable gets fixed ASAP. I hope you are able to spend some time in the pool this weekend, Linda. Thinking of you.

  2. Yes they're playing games just like they did during the Covid pandemic, but there are other causes as well. There's no supply issue but one of delivery, and the force majeure declared by Gulf suppliers is still in effect. This is totally self inflicted crisis caused by the chess game played by the US, Israel, China, Iran...with us little people paying the price. Another reason for high gas prices is that the $109/barrel today for Brent crude is just a paper figure for speculators, the real physical $130/barrel price is probably closer to reality.

  3. I never knew that about German Shepherds, probably because I've never really been around one. I've always been a bit "timid" around them and other big kinds of dogs. I can't imagine a German Shepherd 'having her nails done", or getting the "spa treatment". I guess I only see them as Police Dogs! LOL. I need to meet your doggy I guess and get acquainted! Oh, I am sorry your AC at work is not working well. It's been really hot these afternoons. I can well imagine how miserable it is. I know I get cranky when it gets that hot, so I can imagine what you and your "students" are feeling...not a good situation to let them get too cranky. Although I don't believe they have AC in their dorms, do they? They never used to. Anyway, I hope it gets fixed before next week. I hope you get to enjoy the pool some too. I think I could enjoy one today! LOL. Please take care and have a relaxing rest of your weekend.

  4. I've been here 36 years and I still hate the humidity!! Ugh! My cats got their nails trimmed today... not at a spa, though! LOL And they hate it. Wishing you a restful Sunday - get in that pool - and a good week ahead. Hope the AC if fixed at work! xo

  5. Gas here is between $6 and $7 for regular but I can still find cheaper gas in town that is $4.80 but you sit in long gas lines like in the 70's. Our Beast only gets about 22 mpg, whereas our plug in hybrid we fill up once every 8 weeks and we get 26 electric miles that is enough to get around town. It's a manufactured crisis because we don't get our oil from Iran. Oh well. I'm thankful we're still able to manage without it being detrimental to our budget. It's the food prices that are unreal, especially beef!
We had a close call with our AC this week not blowing air - thankfully it was just a capacitor and a cheap fix.
