Joining in with the Hodgepodge today.
1. August 12th is National Middle Child Day...are you a middle child? If not, where in your family do you fall in terms of birth order? Do you hold true to the typical characteristics of oldest-middle-youngest-only child? (a quick list can be found here) Elaborate.
I am the first born and only female. Yes, I follow all these characteristics
Reliable, Conscientious, Structured, Cautious, Controlling, Achievers. Fear of failure is a real concern.
2. Tell us about a time you felt like (or you actually were) in the middle of nowhere.
Right now. I'm stuck and can't get out of this nightmare of being in the middle of nowhere.
3. What's something you're smack in the middle of currently?
trying to find a job. Either I am over qualified or not enough work experience. Which brings me to this thought, how are you suppose to get work experience if no one will hire you? So many teenagers and young people ask the same thing...hey guess what? So do many stay at home moms or folks like myself who haven't worked in 15 yrs. etc.
4. What's a food you love to eat that has something delicious in the middle?
Pizza is a food, right? I like Lindor Truffles.
5. Share a memory from your middle school days, or junior high if that's what your school dubbed kids somewhere between grades 6-8.
Honestly, I really don't remember. It must of not been that great, right? I met my husband when I was 14 and he was 15, does that count? That was a good thing.
6. Insert your own random thought here.

Yes, we are definitely stuck in the middle of something we have no control over and can't get out of, for sure! I still am holding to the thought that most of this will "magically" disappear after the election.
ReplyDeleteOver qualified/no experience...that is soooo frustrating. Like being a kid and half the stuff you want to do they tell you that you're old enough to know better and the other half they tell you that you aren't old enough. That used to drive me nuts!
You could think of anything from middle school and the only thing I could think of was something bad. Doesn't say much for that time in our lives, does it?
Hot and humid here already this morning. Have a blessed day, my friend!
I'm just like...so over it...thankfully with the Executive Order my student loan payments have been put off until January. SOMETHING has to break, right? At least in my mind, it has too.
DeleteHot and humid already here too. Try to have a good day, Stacy.
I love Lindor too! My wish for you is to find that perfect job and I know how frustrating it is to look and wait. I feel it will come tho! I was a cheerleader in Jr. High and that is about all I remember about it. Being a spoiled rotten only child is what I am!
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda...your not a spoiled rotten child either, grin. smiles
DeleteI liked your answer to #2.
ReplyDeleteI also consider Pizza a food.
I enjoyed your answers.
Have a great Wednesday my friend.
You too Gloria. smiles
DeleteHope you find that job soon. I'm counting the days too, I'm ready for some relief from hot, humid days. Most of all, I'm ready for C19 to go away, I'm really tired of it. Hope all is well with you. ((hugs))
DeleteI just don't know Mary...sigh...about any of this (jobs and Covid etc.)
DeleteGood luck on the job search Linda, that has to be so hard. It's so sweet that you met your husband when you were 14 and he was 15. Did you start dating back then or did that come later? I love Lindor too - yum! Stay cool and have a great day :)
ReplyDeleteWe started dating when I was 15 and he was 16, our parents wouldn't allow it earlier. YOu too! Stay cool and have a great day.
DeleteI am SO ready for fall! It's my favorite season. I wish it lasted for 9 months and spring for 3. No winter or summer, thank you!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Patti
I love fall and the crisp mornings and warm afternoons, smiles...b ut then again, I loveeeeeeeeee winter too, LOLOL.
DeleteIt's the same-old-same-old down this way: hot, humid, wanting Summer and the hysteria to be over ... ugh.
ReplyDeleteI feel like we're all stuck in the middle of some poorly written "B" Horror movie with no end in site. Wish I could help y'alls situation. I just keep praying ...
Love
Its ok Sparky...I keep saying this and mean it, smiles.
DeleteI think that is neat that you met your hubby in middle school. Did you like each other a lot then, or did you kind of grow up and then notice how cool each other was? I met my hubby in community college. I was a freshman and he was finishing up and headed for the University. Couldn't stand the separation, so we got married! I am praying for that job for you...it will be coming soon. Just hold on tight. Anything good is worth waiting for...and I have a feeling it will be something very good. And yes, fall is coming...here in Florida it does last about 6 months! My favorite time! Take care and God bless you dear friend.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, no...I couldn't stand him. He kept starring at me --I was at a football game with someone and he kept starring and walked up to me, he was cocky. I pushed him down the bleechers. Monday morning he came up to me and put an X on my forehead and told me I was going to be his wife one day. ROLLING EYES. Gosh, I should of ran back then, LOLOLOL.
DeleteTalk about a Catch 22 ... that 'business' surrounding job opportunities is a joke. Then again, what we've seen of 2020 seems like a joke. Hang in there, friend ... Fall's on it's way!
ReplyDeleteyeah I know Myra, sigh...sigh.
DeleteYep pizza is a food but you cannot mention it in the same breath as Lindor truffles lol. They are one of my absolute favourites. That and the chocolate bar version that I've just had a few pieces of - but hey I went for a walk in this awful heat. (Well it's evening here so it's a bit cooler.) I do hope you have some luck on the job front soon. I'm sure like here it's really difficult at the moment and yes the need experience but how do you get dilemma never seems to change. sigh!
ReplyDeleteLOLOL. Sorry about that; mentioning pizza and Lindor in the same sentence. Gosh, I love the candy bars, smiles.
DeleteI am also ready for Fall. I have had enough of the humidity and over 90° weather. We had a heat advisory today... but it IS August. I enjoyed reading your Hodgepodge!
ReplyDeleteWe are off!! Harris is ready to rock and roll.. its going to be a bumpy ride.
ReplyDeleteLindor Truffles - Yum!
ReplyDeleteI'm an oldest child too with many of those attributes.
Yes - meeting Dave certainly counts!
Hi Linda, Fall will not come to us until the end of Oct. We are going to be in the 100's all week! We normally don't have humidity, but there is a tropical storm in Baja and so comes the humidity. Good that you don't have to pay on your loans right now. I thought I was young when I met my hubby at 17 and married right before 19. I have some good memories from middle school like my first kiss and being in sports that helped me lose weight. I remember the great pizza they made in the cafeteria that had ground beef on it. They cooked it on a cookies sheet and cut it into rectangles. I met one of my friends in 7th grade and we are still friends. One bad memory was learning P.E. helper crying because her brother was being sent to Vietnam. Have a great weekend!
