Saturday 9

Joining in with the Saturday 9.

Saturday 9: Moonlighting (1985)

Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.

1) Moonlighting was an award-winning comedy-drama that ran from 1985 to 1989. Are you familiar with the show? Were you a fan?

Yes.

2) The series revolved around The Blue Moon Detective Agency in Los Angeles. There have been countless TV shows and movies about detectives and their cases, yet Crazy Sam doesn't know anyone who has ever hired a private investigator. How about you? Have you ever had anything or anyone investigated?

No. But I have been since I am a licensed firearm owner and former teacher and fingerprinted. So both are on file and can be accessed if needed to be.

3) The agency was named Blue Moon because one of the owners, Maddie Hayes, was a model known as The Blue Moon Girl, famous for promoting Blue Moon Shampoo. If we were to rename their detective agency based on the shampoo you most recently used, what would it be called?

I had to switch back to Dove, the Hask Biotin shampoo was drying my hair out. So,

Dove Nourishing Secrets Thickening  Ritual Detective Agency.

4) Cybill Shepherd played Maddie Hayes. Cybill believes we can all find romance many times and said she considers the concept of one true love as "dramatic treacle." Do you agree?

All I know is, marriage is a rollercoaster full of ups and downs and one better hang on. Way too many people just give up.

5) David Addison was played by Bruce Willis. At the beginning of his career he couldn't support himself as a actor and held down part-time jobs as a security guard, shuttle bus driver and bartender. How many different occupations have you had?

Let's see, teacher, lab tech, manager for a retail store, bookkeeper, secretary, mom, wife...not many, apparently.

6) The Moonlighting theme was co-written and performed by Al Jarreau. While in college, Al planned on being a career counselor. Yet once he began performing with a jazz trio, he knew that music was where his heart was. Tell us about a time you found joy from an unexpected source.

"Finding" joy is all around us, you just have to open your eyes and heart to experience it.

7) Moonlighting was created by Glenn Gordon Caron. ABC gave him the opportunity based on his work on Remington Steele and Taxi. Of these three shows -- Moonlighting, Remington Steele and Taxi -- which would you prefer to binge watch?

None of them

8) In 1985, the year Moonlighting premiered, Coca Cola introduced The New Coke. It was not successful and disappeared from store shelves quickly. What's the most recent beverage you drank?

my second cup of Canandaigua / Finger Lakes coffee with Italian Cream

9) Random question  -- Each day, do you put more time into improving your mind or your appearance?

Both...and I still haven't gotten around to coloring the hair yet...waiting so when I get called for interviews it will be fresh.

  1. Whoa! When you mentioned Biotin shampoo a while back I went right out and bought some. A few weeks ago, however, my 'hair artist' (ya, that's what she calls herself!) commented how abnormally dry my scalp looked. Hmmmmm.

Just realized, back in the 80's I was also fingerprinted when I purchased my handgun and got my concealed weapon's permit. May sound strange, but I find that sort of comforting.

    1. Yeah...I don't know why...all of sudden that happened, Myra...so, I went back to Dove 2 weeks ago and it really helped with getting it back too being not dry etc. I guess I learned my lesson. I thought for sure I would have to buy expensive stuff to fix it, but nope...Dove. I had used Dove in the past, but you know, I have baby fine hair...well, now that I have a super duper hair guru, its still thin, but manageable.

  2. Never did watch Moonlighting. If I ever see it on Netflix or Amazon Prime I'll probably binge watch it though. I've heard it was pretty good1

  3. Joe and I both just got our renewed concealed carry permits. Good until 2027! I have been fingerprinted several times... worked at the FBI, worked in a school, and got my concealed carry permit. I loved Moonlighting when it was on TV. Can't find any reruns on TV, though.

    1. gosh, we can't even get concealed carry permits here, you know NY still being shutdown. PLUS normally, it takes like 2 yrs! Yes, I have been fingerprinted and background checked via the FBI too. That is awesome Terri!!! smiles.

  4. I like that show, but always thought Cybill Shepherd was a bit stuck on herself! I like Remington Steel better.
I don't know anyone who has used a private detective.
I have been fingerprinted several times because of being a nurse.
Bob is probably going to get a concealed carry license - the way things are going I think it would be a good idea.

  5. I appreciated and enjoyed your answers. Like the name of your Detective Agency. That shampoo sounds nice too. I love anything with Lavender in it. I could O.D. just smelling it. LOL. I guess I've been fingerprinted a few times, worked for the school board so had to be checked out. I never watched any of those shows. I'm not much of a tv watcher. Praying for your upcoming interviews, whenever and wherever they may be!!! Take care dear friend.

  6. I didn't think about the firearms angle. I guess I've been checked out that way, too. I also have all my state and federal clearances for working with kids and in the nursing home.

  7. I enjoyed your answers.
Been using that shampoo and conditioner recommended awhile back. Can't remember the name 'cause whenever I'm in the shower, I don't have my glasses on. Can't read the print. *lol* It's the one in the brown bottle. Love it! Smells like orange peels to me which I love. I like anything orange or vanilla. So yummy.
I've been fingerprinted and investigated too because of the gun permit and because I did Top Secret work for the Navy Way-Back-When. I'm a good Patriot. Would never do anything to endanger others or start a war. I do hope "they" (the Left) will quit pushing their luck though. They're about to get on my last nerve ... *wink*
I hope you can find a job in the right town & State soon. I know that's ever present on your mind.
    Love & Prayers
