Wednesday Hodgepodge

Please be patient, I am falling behind in commenting, visiting and replying back. I am currently working on typing my final paper...it will probably take 2 weeks to do so.

1. In Monday’s post I mentioned I would incorporate the word I was given for letter K into this week’s questions. That word was karaoke. On a scale of 1-10 how excited would you be to find out there was karaoke happening at your next gathering/outing with friends? 10=gimme that microphone!, and 1=I suddenly remembered there’s somewhere else I need to be. Have you ever actually done karaoke? If you had to perform karaoke what would be your ‘go-to’song?

Ummm….I suddenly remembered there’s somewhere else I need to be.  Yes, I have done karaoke. I prefer rock songs. Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody comes to mind. Longgggggggg ago.
2. How do you listen to music these days? Favorite app or do you listen the old fashioned way? Do you have music playing often in your home? Is there still a CD player in your car?

Yes, there is a CD player in the car. Sometimes I listen to music, but while I am typing or doing homework, I usually just put in the earbuds and no music. There are times when I need just quietness when I work on homework.

3. The HP lands on US tax day this year. Or what used to be tax day before everything including filing your taxes was cancelled, delayed, postponed or extended. FYI- filing your taxes has not been cancelled, only delayed for a bit.
Besides staying away from anyone and everyone, what have you found taxing lately?

Being under "house arrest" and when your out and about the cops give you a dirty look...like, really, folks, get a grip on reality.

4. You’re without power so no oven, and you can’t open your frig or freezer in order to keep what’s in there from spoiling. And you don’t have access to take out. What will you make us for dinner?

Been there, done that without electricity. Sandwiches? My husband has a complete outdoor kitchen; grill, fryer, pizza oven. We could do something along those lines.

5.  I’ve seen this exercise going around Facebook and thought it would be a good one to include in the HP...what are five things everybody seems to love and go crazy for that you personally don’t care for?

That silly cat meme (FB)

The Stay Home meme (FB)

The tv show the Bachelor (sorry folks, not a fan)

Wear a mask when you leave the house

I can't think of a 5th.

6.  Insert your own random thought here.

  3. I'm with you on the "meme's". Enough with them already! *lol* And I will NOT wear a mask. I asked my personal Physician about that and he said they're useless except in a sterile environment. Guess who I'm gonna trust MORE than the Media .... ??!! Maybe this hysteria will be over soon.
    Sending love & prayers.

  5. The mask debacle: my daughter is a nurse practitioner with over 10 years hospital experience, in ICU, and general patient care, now working in general practice, and she said that wearing masks does not prevent transmission, because the dampness from breath creates an area favorable for germs to breed. She will wear them working with patients, but only because she has to. (Obviously, since she is heading to work in a hospital overrun with Covid, she'll wear a more protective mask, N-95, I hope). I get tired of all the memes too, the complaining and whining. Then I find myself whining and complaining, oops, ha. Other things I detest: stupid laws. Wear a mask while jogging? nope. Wear a mask while driving? nope. Don't go for drives in the country? nope.

    1. well...I am sure you know by now, the governor has issued EVERYONE to wear masks, NOPE. NOT GOING TOO. Go ahead and fine me. Hubby said, "You're going to need bail money, ,right?" lol

  6. My hubby would kill for that outdoor kitchen! In fact, he's spending almost all day outside on the deck. It's been so pretty, I suspect Mother Nature's trying to apologize for her tantrum Sunday. (heh-heh)

  7. Nice! My husband looks at those outdoor kitchens, but thankfully, he admits he'd never use it enough to justify it...and I'm not using it. I have to cook inside. Outside is NOT my job! Ha!

You singing Bohemian Rhapsody? I'd pay to see that. :D

Hope you are having a good day. We went to a local meat processing place and stocked up this morning (hearing rumblings that we might see some meat shortages in the next couple of weeks due to processing/packaging plants having to shut down and debug after having employees with the virus). Kept the grands for a couple of hours and whoopee...our "free" money was deposited in the bank today. It got here before unemployment has kicked in, if you can believe it.

  8. Hi, Linda … it's me, again. Another of my favorite bloggers just posted something I think you'll appreciate. I've not smoked in nearly 7 years, but Jon's words made me want to step out back for a cigarette. :)))

  9. My ovens been broken for 14 years now and will probably never be repaired. No car for a CD and wouldn't listen in the car anyway.
Masks do no good at all, especially the homemade ones. I am more concerned with Planet X heading our way than some stupid virus anyway. Some people call it wormwood. seems why there are asteroid deflection plans in place in the USA. who knows.

  10. Wonderful Women Wednesday...That's a good idea! We all deserve a special day because we are all wonderful women. I only wear a paper surgical mask when we go to the grocery store. I got tired of people looking at me when I didn't have one. It is different here than there...there is no mask mafia out there ready to grab you and force you to wear one. I do grab the sanitizer cloths and clean the buggy really well, and then grab some more to keep in my hand for touching things or picking things up in the store. Then I thoroughly use more sanitizer when I get back in the car to go home. I don't like that stuff, but I guess I'd better use it or else. I wash my hands constantly anyway at home but use moisturizing soap that doesn't dry my hands so badly. Music...I love music, but listen only with earphones at the computer these days. Hubby watches TV and I don't want to compete with his noise. Sometimes I sing along to the music I'm hearing out loud, and then I get the "look". LOL. Too bad. Our car radio/speakers/CD player don't work anymore. But I rarely go anywhere alone since retiring, and so we don't listen to radio because hubby wants to talk. Sometimes I do get in a word edgewise. LOL> Have a blessed day. Keep looking up my friend. This will soon be over. God is still on the throne in spite of the Cuomo's and all the other pontificators.

  11. I agree with your 4 things. Not a fan of any of those either. The mask thing is frustrating. I have to wear one all day, they are so uncomfortable and I know they don't do a lot to protect us, unless they are the N95 and those things are beyond uncomfortable!
