Joining in with the Hodgepodge today.
1. Expect the unexpected on From This Side of the Pond. Here's my x-ray question...when was the last time you felt like Superman? What's your superpower? Explain.
My superpower? Hey, I'm a wife and mom, that's enough super power yielding power. LOL
2. Are you a fan of the 'superhero' type movies? If so what's your favorite?
Oh, let's see...Aquaman Jason Momoa is easy on the eyes. wink
3. Have you postponed or cancelled a trip to the dentist in recent weeks, and if so when do you think you'll feel comfortable going back? How about other routine medical procedures?
Our nimroad governor has SHUTDOWN doctors and dentists. Yep. EVERYTHING essential (and I think dr. and dentists are essential) is closed. My husband really has to see the dentist, he broke a tooth. But, nope, EVERYTHING is closed.
4. What's something that makes you feel youthful? Something that makes you feel 'not so youthful'? Tell us why.
Right now, sitting in this blasted chair for 10 hrs a day for the past week typing up this final paper. My back and tailbone have about had enough, so yeah, that makes me feel old.
Feel youthful? I don't know...probably when I see kids out playing and having fun.
5. I feel compelled to include some sort of corona related question in the HP these days. What's the strangest thing you've seen in relation to the virus? Something that really struck you as odd, made you stop and think, 'Dorothy we're not in Kansas anymore?'
How about I just show this graphic...truth bomb.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Aren't I just a ray of sunshine this morning? (not and I know I'm not). Today is the final push to finish typing up the final paper. These last 15 pages have turned into a nightmare. Then I will spend tomorrow proofreading and typing up the Bibliography. Lucky for Word as they have a spell and grammer check embedded. Just saying...which is the reason why for the nightmare and also I have been adding the footnotes as I go; 72 and counting.

The next two days sound like LOADS of fun. (sarcasm) You'll do great, though. I have faith in you! You will blow them away and it will all be worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteTry to have a good day!
Back in the day we were still using white out.....and a typewriter... with a ribbon.... no cutting and pasting. How much easier those papers would have been today! Be grateful for small things!! Spell check? We had to get out the old dictionary... yes I feel very old.. Keep going.. you are almost there!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi LInda. I know you will really be proud of yourself when you are finished with that paper. Good for you! You go girl. Love your ending meme and quote. I don't even know what to believe right now. We are opening back up in a limited way here in Utah. Governor wants everyone to wear masks. Many people are mad about that, but it seems reasonable. I should be able to finally go get my hair cur next week. Glad about that. Thanks for "keeping it read" my friend. Have a good day. Get that paper finished and then RELAX!
ReplyDelete*Keeping it Real - not Read LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat Bunkerville just said. (Been there, done that!)
ReplyDeleteYour first meme made me chortle out-loud! :))) Love Allen West, and hadn't seen that quote. Wish more folks took him seriously.
The end of your schooling is on the horizon. You're gonna make it!
ReplyDeletePraying for your endurance. Hang tough. I found this post pretty ☀️
ReplyDeleteFinish line is here!! WooHoo !! Sore back, sore butt, going to pay off in the near future. You've got this. I hope all this virus stuff is gone soon so you'll be able to go out and celebrate!
ReplyDeleteHang in there girl..you are doing awesome! i am in awe of you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDelete"Have you postponed or cancelled a trip to the dentist in recent weeks..."
ReplyDeleteYes, the orthodontist.
But, a ray of hope, another doctor's office sent us an email today saying they are open for routine and allergy visits. They ask people to wear masks, but at least they have re-opened. This is in NC.
Glad you are now on the home stretch. So thankful for good Word processing. I told you already my nightmare with my hubby's dissertation, which was 30 years ago before we had a computer! Talk about nightmares! But you will survive this and come out of it with a nice big degree and God is going to lead you someplace really really special! (and not the "funny farm", let's hope...but I know you'd like to live on a farm...tee hee). We, your cheerleaders out here, are very proud of you, and we will jump up and down with you when you finally get that beautiful degree in the mail. YOu should have your hubby take a picture of you when you receive it, and you should do something very special to celebrate!!!
ReplyDeleteThat final paper!! And you can't even go out to celebrate when it is finally done! Our restaurants are opening up on Monday with 25% capacity. That should be interesting. I think we will just stick with carry-out for a while yet. I hate waiting for a table at full capacity! LOL Hang in there, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThe governor is not to blame for doctors and dentists. They aren’t covered by any executive order. They are making their own decisions on whether it’s safe to see patients. My orthopedist is seeing emergencies only, and has an elaborate protocol for bringing a patient into the office. Hope you can find a dentist who is seeing patients right now.
ReplyDeleteoh for petes sake, get over yourself. He said all NON essential and businesses ran with it, grant it. There is not ONE doctor or dentist open here. Too may people not questioning the directive...and for that, I do blame Cuomo because continues to act like a king.
DeleteHope you got the paper finished. Our dentists are closed but there are procedures in place for emergencies.
