Stepping into March...

Good morning...just my thoughts on this Monday morning.

Just some things I am going to try to do in March...all about self-reflecting and my word for the year Listen.

...Learn how to keep my tone down in the classroom and use the inner voice that I used to have.

...Learn how to even my responses to people who really don't like me at work. I really need to realize that problems are theirs, not mine. I need to realize that their actions, feelings etc. are theirs and not mine to control. Besides it's just not healthy, period.

...Just worry about me. I sure worry about things that are out of my control.

...I really need to get back to that joyful & jovial attitude. I just need to be that happy person again and quit being something I am not.

Do you have any that you would like to share? Any thoughts?

Have a beautiful day.

  1. OH, I said something about being in control and letting God be in control on my last post! Must be a message God is trying to get through to us! Yes, when we "let go, and let God" be in control of our lives, our thoughts, our actions, our tongues...we find that things go a lot better for us. It's not always easy to do, that I know full well. But when we at least try to purposefully let God guide our thoughts and voices, it does make a difference in our attitude and also how we are perceived by others. We can't change them, but we can certainly work on our own attitudes and often times that begins to make a difference in how others see us and treat us. It can be a slow process, but it's worth a try anyway. I will be praying for you this week. Please be careful out there this morning. It is extremely foggy here right now...and probably is down by you too. Praying for your safety as you drive to work. (((HUGS)))

  2. Hope you find joy again Linda. While we know in our heads that the way people react to us is theirs to manage it still impacts us and it's hard to sometimes to say 'not my problem'. I think we all have to learn that. Have a great day!

  3. I could benefit from every one of these, myself. Every day's a school day!

  4. Linda, thinking of you and praying the week begins smoothly. I know the Lord is going before you as well as walking beside you. The items you have written regarding self-reflection are items I think we all need to work on. I know I do.

  7. Staying positive and realizing that the only person you can change is yourself are such great attitudes to have, Linda. One step at a time and hang in there!

  8. My mantra.... Relax, God is in control. Worry is interest paid in advance for trouble that rarely comes. You are on the right track! xo

  9. Linda, if you find a way to become that person you used to be, would you please let me know. I always say that...but then life. I didn't get this way overnight nor did I have much to do with it. It is what happens when you have had enough and aren't willing to take it anymore. I don't like it and I pray about it all the time. I do know God is working on me but then I get in the way! Hang in there, kiddo!

  10. It is very hard to govern the self especially when there are provoking people all around you but I know you can do it. You are quite a special young woman my friend. Hugs and prayers go your way always.

  12. My goodness, I agree with your sentiments. I am so, so thankful to be retired. I was a middle school librarian in my career and nearly all the adults in that building acted like middle schoolers themselves. I kept my head down and tried to smile but there was jealousy as some colleagues thought I had it easier than they did in their classroom positions. I would counter that with the sincere comment that it only took 18 months to get my master’s and they could certainly do it too if they wanted my job. I think some people love to live in the midst of drama and unhappiness. I, however, did not! I wish you peace and grace in your job situation. Your blog is uplifting and a joy to read.
