Good morning...
Currently...Feeling...
down with the crud...yep...truth be told I was "hacking up a lung" Thursday evening. But I went in Friday and by mid-morning, I had had enough. "Whatever" is going around, and it was my turn, I guess. The bossman actually literally pushed me out security and threatened to call my two moms, actually, my two moms aka the warden and asst. warden saw it all and responded to it as well...GO HOME (I responded, but, but, but--bossman "Yes, yes, I know your dedicated, but this is what happens when your over dedicated and I knew this would happen, go home. Your job is safe, don't care about the students/inmates...etc. etc. You got 300 hrs of sick time etc. etc. I am not very happy with your co office sharer who was out sick and now got you sick etc. etc. It was a matter of time etc..."---let's just call the bossman a mother/daddy hen, shall we? Whatever it's called)....anyways, thankfully, I made it home and promptly thru myself on the couch and stayed there for the rest of the day, loaded up on medicine etc. I am not a good patient, but this time, yeah...I need to listen. ANYWAYS...
Grateful for--my workplace. No matter how much it drives me crazy...I did get to know the bossman a little better that 24 hrs. while in Lakeland...and understand better now what has been going on etc...the politics involved.
Weather/Scene-63* and sunny. Another warm and humid one on tap and then come Monday-Tuesday the bottom will drop out. Highs of 60 and lows of 30*.
Reading-I haven't even touched the new books yet.
Watching-did you know the Peacock channel is free with Spectrum? Download the app and sign on and voila. Since I was stuck on the couch, hubby has decided he needed to watch Downton Abbey from the beginning...so that is what we did, we got all the way to Season 2.
Listening--hubby just left, I was in such a hurry to get home yesterday morning, I did not put gas in my car, and it was on a quarter of a tank. So, he went to put gas in the car and stop at the store. He was asking me what I needed etc.
Thinking---
--so many of you commented on why not the mileage etc. extra pay...don't know...the bossman said he was working on it etc...and he is not very happy etc... we always get paid etc. So, I am not going to worry about. It seems that news has been reverberated thru out the region and it's not good.
-- Hubby mentioned to me last night, that Walmart and Amazon have Thanksgiving meal plans and we can order a complete meal for under $40, and would I be interested in doing that? He also mentioned going over to the beach. He said and I quote, "Bump it, let's just take off." Wow, cool. It seems folks are just in a foul mood with this DC shutdown. I honestly believe, those folks in Congress and the Senate should NOT be paid. P.S. Hey NY, you get what you get...just saying.
-- did I do the memes this week? 🧐
Making me smile--
Not this 6-7 going around. 42 is the answer and the bossman and I had a lengthy conversation about the movie and book The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. My boss is a walking talking encyclopedia, btw.
Have a great day

Take care, Linda. Let your hubby spoil you a bit!! xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that silly training trip offered you and "Bossman" an opportunity to communicate. I hope you're feeling much better soon!
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, Linda, so you can enjoy what's left of the weekend! You've got a great boss man and a wonderful husband. You are blessed!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon Linda. Take it easy until you do.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you're sick but at the same time, glad to see how the moms and pops of your employment see after you when you're nearing death's door with that cough.
ReplyDelete42. I don't know what that is, just as I did not know anything about the 6-7 that Joyce had on her Hodgepodge.
Get well. Enjoy the down time as much as you can!
Oh no. I hope you feel better soon. Get lots of rest.
ReplyDeleteI agree about them not getting paid. They aren't doing anything to get paid for. It is so frustrating. Have a nice weekend.

Oh no, Linda, I am so sorry to hear you have the "Crud". That is NO fun. This is the time of year to get it I guess...and with these fluctuating temperatures you don't know how to dress for the day anymore. I just wish it would rain. That's all I care about right now, weatherwise. I do hope you are resting and you will feel better soon. I'm glad your bossman and others sent you home! Yes, you have sick leave for a reason!! I'm glad you got out of NY when you did. I have a feeling the prices for homes down here are going to sky-rocket with all of the people moving down here. It's tempting...no I won't say it. Anyway, the stuff that's going on is all crazy. Praying for our country more and more, and also for all those who are still unsaved. Jesus is coming soon!!! Take care my friend. Get well soon. (((HUGS))) praying for you.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda. Hope you feel better soon. We didn't want to cook on Thanksgiving so we are going out to eat that day. Hope you have a good Sunday. See you again soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I am sorry you are sick. Use your sick leave and get your rest. Those meals sound like a good deal. I agree with you about not getting paid if you are not working. Have a restful Sunday and maybe Monday too.
ReplyDeleteWell Goodness!! No fun being sick but glad you listened to Bossman!
ReplyDeleteWe watched DA twice now...I think we'll give it a few years before going round three! lol
Get Well!
hugs
Donna
Linda, I've been coughing all week too! I don't feel sick at all, just have a constant cough. The weather was hot the last few days and this morning it's cool and breezy. Yay! I'm glad your boss pushed you out the door. Rest and relax and feel better soon :) Take care!
ReplyDeleteJust curious: I live in the Capital Region of NYS and haven't really watched the news. What about NYS are you referring to???? or do you mean NYC?? (which some of us up here would like to see be its own state hahahah!!)
ReplyDeleteLinda, you stay on the couch and rest! That is an order! But seriously, feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are feeling better. And look, I think Google or blogger were glitching!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby and I just got over the covid. I hope you feel better soon. Get plenty of rest!
