Good morning...Currently Monday
Feeling- Where to start? I have been in bed all weekend and can finally hold my head up this morning and the fever has finally broken. I am taking today off and of course tomorrow/Tuesday is a paid day off due to Veterans Day. Whatever hit me hit me good. Texted the bossman that I wasn't coming in, several people are out at work etc. So, it's going around. It's not the flu or covid. Whatever it is.
Weather- It is 52*. The temperature has dropped, and we are expecting a hard freeze tonight and tomorrow. Yep, heard that right. Tis the season for sickness. One day its near 90 and today it's only going to be near 60. Hubby said he is throwing some windows open to air out the house (we had to turn the ac back on as it has been 90* and humid).
Reading/Watching-nothing. Like I said, I haven't been able to hold my head up at all. It's been miserable.
Listening--nothing. All is quiet. I do hear the birds outside, that is about it.
Thinking--
-Nothing really. I do feel guilty for not going into work. And the bossman reminded me to use my Sick Leave and how many hours of sick leave I do have. Yikes, maybe I am thinking that is a problem, NOT taking time off. Been going and going nonstop. He said no wonder I am sick. Maybe he has a point.
-Awaiting to hear when hubby will have surgery--we are hoping and praying after Thanksgiving.
-I am glad I didn't meet up with Terri, because she probably would be sick now.
Grateful-for a great husband who has been worrying and waiting on me like I am a child. Just saying...he is a keeper.
Happy Birthday-
250 years old today. Semper Fi.
Wishing you all a beautiful day.
P.S. To Faith-I was referring to NYC and we hope and pray that NY state doesn't become like NYC or what it is going to become.

Linda, I am glad your fever has broken and even more relieved that you are taking today off. Very wise so hopefully, you won't have a relapse. Continue to rest and keep yourself hydrated. Thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've spent the weekend sick and it's very good you called in today. Even better that you have tomorrow off too. Rest up and feel better!
ReplyDeletePS - Dave is certainly a keeper!
Sorry to hear you're sick. I hope you'll be feeling like yourself again in no time.
ReplyDeleteOOH I KNOW (About NYC) so many of us "up here in the lower ADK/Capital Region" would love to see the city (along with Long Island) become their own state. WIll never happen I know. I avoid going down there at all costs and haven't been since 2008!! we much prefer Boston anyways HA!
ReplyDeleteFeel better! Sounds like a bad cold or the flu! I rarely get ill and haven't had a cold in over 6 years although I did have covid in 2023 and yes I was vaccinated. but......don't get me started.....
anyways, feel better!
OH forgot to tell you. Saw your answer to my class question on the post today. I LOVED getting my MS degree. Loved grad school. Won a fellowship so didn't have to pay a dime except for my rent, car, food, etc. Of course I was only 26 and single so......
I will pray it begins well for you!
Oh Linda, I'm so glad you are off today and tomorrow! It's going to be SO cold in the morning tomorrow, and today is windy and cold. You needed this time to recuperate. Glad your sweet hubby is taking good care of you. I am fighting either a cold or an allergy/scratchy throat and just don't feel too perky, plus I was outside all morning covering plants and preparing a warm space on the back porch for the kitties. They probably won't use it, but at least I tried...the rest is up to them. Please take it easy dear friend, and drink lots of fluids and maybe eat some chicken soup! Take care and God bless you real good.
ReplyDeleteUgh on that bug! I wonder if the residents aren't down with it, as well. I'm guessing y'all breathe the same recycled air? You've sure got a caring boss!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are feeling some better and that you have tomorrow off as well. I was sorry to miss a visit with you, Linda, but am happy I didn't get exposed to whatever y'all have going around up there in Ocala. Continue to take care and let Dave wait on you for another day, at least! xo
ReplyDeleteHope you are completely recovered soon, Linda. Being sick is NOT fun - EVER! Your husband is definitely a keeper. I wasn't aware that he has to have surgery and I do hope it can be scheduled after Thanksgiving, too. I'll be praying for him and you! Happy Birthday, Marines!
ReplyDeleteRest is the best thing when youre ill. I am glad you are staying home. Feel better. Keeping you in prayers.
ReplyDeleteLinda, I wonder what you had? Maybe just a really bad cold or RSV? I've had a non-stop cough for a week now. But, like you said, the weather can't make up its mind. I do think that sometimes the Lord has a way of telling us to slow down. If you have not taken a break, maybe it was time you really needed some time away from work. I hope you get some good rest and don't feel guilty. Every job manages to carry on without us. Just get the rest you need and enjoy it. Take care :)
ReplyDeleteHi Linda. I hope you are feeling better by now. Yes, you need to take some sick leave. I know have almost 17 days that I need to use before I retire in May. Take it easy, and yes, I agree with you about having a Socialist mayor of NYC. Very troubling indeed. I worry about our country. See you again soon!
