Late Saturday Chat

Time: 4:54 pm

Scene: 86*, dewpoint 60*, humidity 42%. It is quite balmy out...

Drinking: Nothing.

Been:

Out and about today. Met friends for breakfast, then we went here and there: Lowes (bought more pavers), Ollies (bought 2 books), 2 thrift stores, Marshalls (bought 2 pairs of linen clamdiggers, 2 summer blouses for work), odds and ends for the house such as my favorite detergent:

I saw hubby literally running down the aisle practically screaming my name. Thrilled he found this. I know, one can buy it online, but there is nothing like finding it in a store. ((grin))

and finally, we stopped at Target for groceries.

Feeling: Sick...I knew better than to eat breakfast on a hot humid day. Going here and there, in and out of the car did me in. Took a cold shower and put on fresh PJ'S. Just keeping it real. I keep telling hubby with the high blood pressure med I am on; I simply cannot be doing this (going here and there in this heat). 86 might not seem much, but with the humidity, the car said 95.

Looking at: Awnings for the house. Which is another reason why we were out and about. Our house faces the sun and the 4 windows we have that do face the sun --it's just miserable even with the room darkening shades/blinds/drapes.

In the kitchen: Nothing right at this moment. I am going to bake/make cupcakes. Hubby said he was going to grill some hotdogs. I asked him to wait a bit, the heat (I became overheated) is just too much--although the central ac is on etc.

Wishing you all a beautiful rest of the day.

  1. It sounds like a good day, except for too much heat. I've always said that people who live in the south are tough to deal with that!
I've never heard of that laundry soap. Now I'm wondering why you like it so much. :) I think it would be a good post idea!
I have a home made pizza in the oven and it's smelling good.

  2. I went to Lowe's and Publix this morning. Came home to do not much of anything. I really spend way too much time in my recliner with the TV on but the humidity and heat are not fun (as you mentioned) so I'm with you on not running here and there!! Have a blessed Sunday! xo

  3. It was hot today...and humid too. We need rain so much. They say we might get a thunderstorm tonight. Do be careful in the heat, especially with the fact that you are on BP meds, etc., and be sure to stay hydrated. Hot dogs on the grill sound good. Hubby here wanted hot dogs and beans tonight, but I was already cooking chicken. So I convinced him to have chicken tonight, and then I talked to Benton and Rose and we might go there for hot dogs on the grill on Monday night. Tomorrow is a busy day (Sunday). I hope John can wait that long for his beans and wienies. LOL. Sounds like you had a productive day anyway. I understand about the sun shining in the windows, etc. That is why we put a covered porch on the back of our house, which faces west. We still get sun in the afternoon, but much better than it was before the porch roof. Awnings will help in the meantime until maybe some day you can add a covered porch. One step at a time. Meanwhile, try to stay cool! Love ya.

  4. I am SO eager to begin re-visiting thrift stores! Hey, fresh pj's are right up there in my list of favs. When you've a moment, please send me a PM about your BP meds. Tom's has recently begun escalating and UAB's put him on a new script.

  5. Sounds like you have had a good and productive Saturday. Getting together with good friends is always fun. Sorry it's so hot there already. I don't do well in the heat either, but out here, the heat is dry with very little humidity. Glad you found the kind of laundry soda you like. I have never heard of it around here. I hope you have a good Sunday. See you again soon!

  11. I love living in Florida but yes working in the yard became a little too much for me the other day. But I do so enjoy being outside in the fresh air. Since my granddaughter, her husband, new baby and with the two that are here every other week, it's nice to go outside. :)
