Wednesday Chat and Tuesday Meme...

Time: 11:08 am

Scene: 78*, humidity 77%, dewpoint 67* and we are under a marginal risk for sever weather today. Boy, did it come down yesterday...we sure need it in these parts, as we are under a drought.

Why am I home?

Hubby had surgery...well...he was supposed to have his Esophagus stretched yet again with the stomach lining/tissue being used---but they ended up NOT stretching the esophagus again and NOT needing tissue from the stomach lining. However, they did pull 2 polyps out from his stomach and will get it analyzed. He does have a small ulcer, but they are not concerned with it. He is fine, up and talking, what a difference from the last time, makes me wonder did NY really know what they were doing. We got home about an hour ago. He went in at 7 am.

Drinking: a second cup of Starbucks Morning Blend with Italian Cream. I can actually relax etc. knowing he is ok etc.

On my mind...

Not much...just going to relax and go back to work tomorrow.

So.. let's talk about topics and conversation. Tuesday Meme

1. What subjects do you find you enjoy most in conversations?

Anything but politics. Right now, I just detest the political scene. I say, since the two-party system isn't working, just burn it down and start over. That.is.where.Iam. Also, I refuse to discuss the state of which our education system is in. Ok, enough of that.

2. What topics do you try to avoid with friends or with family or even with strangers?

See above...I also will not discuss the hot topics of trans, Karen's of the world, whatever. Sorry, I am too closed minded. As a matter of fact, no, I am not sorry. I am a Christian, period. Un apological so.

3. What topics are difficult for you to talk about? Would you like that to change?

Kinda answered that, LOL. No, not really.

4. What topics really can get you going for good or for bad?

See above. LOL--I can sit all day long and talk about History (duh) and enjoy all kinds of Historical topic, tv shows etc.

As always, your ideas for topics are more than welcome.

  1. So glad to hear that your husband is doing well, Linda! It's always scary when anyone has surgery. And I'm with you on those topics, that's for sure.
    Blessings!

  2. Cautiously optimistic about Dave's procedure! Please keep us updated!
I, too, am unwilling to bend to the whims of those who spread evil ... unapologetic!

  3. As you know, I'm a history buff too. I light up when we discuss those kinds of topics.
I'm kinda burned out with all the Communist nonsense but we must remain vigilant and keep protecting children. The devil is trying to molest, kill and maim as many as he can be he's cast into the eternal pit. For that I refuse to remain silent. I will fight for these kids, come what may.
So glad Dave is OK. May he heal quickly and not have any more problems.
Love & Prayers for you both xx

  4. OM goodness I have not ever heard of what your husband had. Poor guy! I tend to have stomach issues/Gerd so I can't imagine how painful that must be for him. I hope this does the trick for better health.

I only discuss politics with my husband, and my 2 sons when we're all together. I mostly listen but we are all in agreement. I'd say the topic I try to avoid like the plague would be same as you - the Trans issues (my daughter-in-laws brother is transitioning to be a woman) and it's a touchy subject. Plus my husband's sister is a lesbian and she invited us to her wedding and my husband refused to go - not that he doesn't love her but he felt being a witness to her wedding would be putting his seal of approval and so that caused a major rift in the family. Plus as it turned out, it was very pro LBGTQ+ type wedding with rainbows everywhere and people dressing up - I'm now glad we didn't attend. That was pretty sad though to have to make that decision. The thing is she knows we are Christians - I feel we were deliberately set up. The thing that gets me is, I don't care one way or another but why do they need me to say I APPROVE. Do they approve of me being a Christian? NO! But that's different.

Oh my, you got me going...just delete this instead of approving it. LOL You never know when even my comment to you could "trigger" someone. Oh what a world.

Take care and your husband - hope he gets well soon.

  6. Aww, hate to hear hubby had to have surgery again but I hope he is feeling better real soon. I’m with you on all of the topics you listed. I’m just so done with this culture we live in. 😕

  8. Hi Linda. I think you and I are in the same place with regard to education and transgenderism. You are right - it really is a matter of being Christian and following what is clearly stated in the Bible. I apologize to no one for my views. Unfortunately, I deal with these things on a daily basis, but I refuse to give my approval either actively or passively. It is just. clearly. wrong. So glad that Dave is doing OK. I am glad you are finding Florida medical care to be better than NY. See you again this weekend. :-)

  10. Glad to hear your husband's surgery went smoothly. Praying for the polyps to be negative. Linda, your responses about conversation are mine. I don't apologize either because 1. I'm a Christian, 2. everyone is entitled to their thoughts/opinions without issue, and 3. see #1.

  14. I'm glad the hospital procedure is over and the news is better than expected (keeping in mind that waiting for lab results is still hanging over your heads). You both are in my prayers.

As for the rains, it has been a blessing to get it this week. Wind has been pretty wild, but no damage here, thus far. Thankful.

  15. I hear you on the politics stuff! I only talk politics with like-minded people! I'm sure you and I could have a great conversation!

  16. Meeeee, tooooo... on anything political and all the such-and-such related. I'm already angry as it is because of things three of my family members have to live with the rest of their lives. Sooo... 1. through 4. agree, same, all of the above. Ha!

  17. No comments on politics here either. Two reasons: I'm illiterate. Forgot the other one. :) Being a Christian is my greatest joy even though I'm not well versed on the bible. You know, Linda, when I was a young girl I prayed every night, of course, and listed each and every one of my family. It would take at least 30 minutes because back then so many aunts, uncles, cousins. :)
    xoxo
