bands in the park, fireworks on the 4rth, community picnics or is the cost just too much?
Our town in the summer provides this...free movies in the park, bands in the park and fireworks on the 4th.

Right now, the fear of this corona virus has taken hold, I wish folks would just calm down and start thinking logically. One of the local business put out a very powerful message yesterday about trusting God and pleading for people to stop panicking.
4. My little high school offered 3 courses of education: Business, University track and General education where you could also major in shop, carpentry, home economics and metal working, etc.
Would you like to see schools bring back business courses, shop classes and home
economics?
Yes, please...and I think the schools really ought to think about financial planning as well. This area is known for the 4 H clubs and farming and I love that.
I love that so many businesses and individuals are stepping up to make this whole mess better for everyone. We all need to be that way. Happy St. Patrick's Day, Linda!

DeleteMy sister and I ate out for lunch yesterday. Pretty much had the place to ourselves except for a couple of anti-Trump people who were making their opinions known. Some people don’t know how to keep their voices at their own table. I almost asked for a change of table, but fortunately they were finished with their meals and left fairly soon. It’s okay to have an opinion, but why all the language accompanying it?

I do beleive the rest. are closed, and only the fast food places are allowing pick up. These anti Trumpers are really affecting my state of mind, especially when these folks don't care to hear the truth, smiles. ANYWAYS...Wishing a beautiful day, friend...been keeping you in prayer.

Our little area has the picnics, movies, doin's in the Blackshear City Park. It's really nice for the kids. Unfortunately, the media hysteria has struck here and many places have shut down. It'll pass in a few days, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't looked at the symptoms for the COVID-19 until today (I'm slow). I'm pretty sure Steve, me, and many at Church have already had this virus late last year! No lie. We all felt crappy with a fever for a few hours, then the cough that wouldn't leave, then we were all better. It was a mystery. Now I know what it was! I should put this on FB. It's not that big a deal. More of a nuisance than anything.

ReplyDeleteThings have settled down a little here today. We were out and about yesterday and it was a little crazy. Today, the crazies must have stayed home. Having the stores put limits on how much you can buy of certain products helps too. Common sense will return soon, I hope!!
ReplyDeleteReplying to #3 (what would I change about my town if I had the power): I'd re-name ALL the streets so they would make sense! We have numbered streets (as you, Linda, know) but many times they are not in numerical order!!! That's crazy.

ReplyDeleteI wish high schools would offer the classes you mentioned - everyone could use them.
Some of my millennial coworkers are so much smarter about money than I was at their age, but alas, they didn't learn it at school. They watched their parents during the 2008 recession. So I agree, we'd all be better off if smart money management was taught in school.
