Currently...Goings - On & Whatnots ...

Good morning from a very warm and humid central Florida-expecting severe storms today. I was going to do the Tuesday and Wednesday Memes and thought I might want to do an update, thank you for the emails on wondering if I was ok etc.

The temperature... is 74*, the humidity is 88% and under a marginal severe weather alert for the day. We desperately need rain here.

Watching /Reading...well...nothing really. I came home and crashed around 6 pm last night. I just couldn't keep my eyes open.

Was supposed to...head down to Lakeland to MayFaire and visit with Terri. Unfortunately, with the weather being unsettled and being b-r-o-k-e now...

Thinking...

*After $450, the electric issues have been solved. It seems the problems were traced to wiring that had been chewed on by some creature that had lived under the house.

yay for the ceiling fan in between the living and dining rooms. Hurray for power!

and power has been restored to all parts of the house and hubby had four outside outlets put in as well. So, really $450 wasn't too bad, just my opinion. Yes, it hurt financially.

**Thinking that the good Lord has told me to be quiet.

Long story short, I am supposed to attend a weeklong conference in Orlando in July. Needless to say, whoever messed up and now I was told I will be sharing a room with a coworker. I voiced my opinion and simply stated NO after the conversation went off the rails. And for the record, he said, "It sucks to be you in July." So, there you go. And I heard the good Lord "Stop. Be quiet." So...which brings me to another thought...

***Hubby voiced his opinion...there might be changes come July-August professionally...we shall see. I am not worried or even concerned, really.

**** Oh, hubby sold his cargo trailer and bought a nice shed and unfortunately all the things that were in there, sits outside (lucky it's in plastic totes and covered with a tarp) until Tuesday when the new shed gets delivered.

***** Which brings us to rearranging the other bedrooms, not this weekend though, because of the impending weather situation and the storage issue. We will be going thru things soon.

Feeling...

It's been a rough week.

For the record...I love my job, just not the politics of it. And readily admit to having a sharp tongue as of late--which has probably upset the boss applecart. NO means no. BE QUIET, LINDA.

Still managing to laugh...

every.single.day.

yep...and I am at full capacity at 26 students in the am class. And he keeps adding more. sigh

Ok, that's all I got for now...that's the goings on and whatnots.

P.S. Ocala has this concert thing going on and we can hear it as its only like 3 miles from the house: Pretty impressive lineup of Kid Rock, Hank Williams Jr, and many more. Traffic is at a standstill here at 475 A &B and it took forever to get home yesterday. Sorry folks, the tickets are $99 for each day (last night and today)...it's a little much for us.

Hope each of you have a beautiful day.

  1. Everyone needs a good shed....for which I do not have one. ARGH! I personally am not good at sharing rooms with anyone but my husband and daughters..granddaughters too. I would say NO for sure. Glad you found the issue for the electrical problems. those critters can really cause havoc on electrical wiring. The squirrels chew my outdoor lights on a reg basis and I have to replace them..I never can catch them doing it though. I know this is most likely a difficult weekend being mother's day, but my prayers are with you.

  2. Thanks for catching us all up on the latest in your world, Linda. Great news about the electrical power being restored, too. You can't do without a/c in Florida! Blessings for a restful weekend!

  3. $450 sounds like a bargain especially with extra outlets added. Well done you.
Good for you, I wouldn't share either. Period. End of statement.
We're getting a pile of rain this weekend. It's really nice 'cause we've needed it desperately.
As always, sending prayers. May your days only get better and better. Love. 😊

  4. Hi Linda! Believe me, I totally get drama at work. I am right in the middle of that right now and it is not fun! I hope things work out for you with your job training trip. I don't like to share rooms with co-workers either. Glad you got your electrical problems fixed. Seems like any kind of home repair is way too expensive. I hope you have a good day. See you again soon!

  5. Thinking of you and all these things you are going through. I will be praying for your work situation. It sounds like things just keep getting more and more complicated. May God give you grace to deal with things the best way, but I pray for it all to get better. So glad you got the electrical issues resolved. $$450 sounds pretty good actually when you consider it all. And I am happy you are getting a new shed! Sheds are great to have, as you can see by ours...hopefully yours won't be as cluttered as ours. LOL. We got too much stuff is what the problem is, and we need to do a cleanout. It's never easy, no matter what the weather! LOL. It's still too hot and muggy to do anything outside. We finally got some rain today, but still not enough. I hope more is still coming. Poor Benton is at Deep Creek Farm event today trying to sell his planters. I hope he sold some before the rains came down. Take care my friend and keep your eyes on Jesus. He is with you ALWAYS>.

  6. Hope the shed arrives on Tuesday like they say! I would be saying NO to sharing a room. Husband yes, my mom yes, and just plain nope to everyone else. I am happy to hear that your electrical issues have been fixed. Wishing you a peaceful weekend, Linda.

  7. We drove past the concert location twice the other day (en route to.... and en route back home) and promised each other that we would not pass that way again until the party was all over, done, and just a memory for those nearby. We are not fans of traffic.

4:16pm as I type this. Thunder has begun. We have, thus far, got no rain on our side of town all of this week. Thinking we may actually get some here in the next hour. Hope so!

Hoping whatever may be in the works for you this summer is a good thing!!

  8. That is cool that you can hear the concert from your house. We are having crazy rain and wind in Alabama today.

  9. I'm so glad the electrical "issues" have been resolved, Linda!
Not so much the "it sucks to be you in July" comment directed your way. Nuh-uh, no way, Jose. I'm on edge to hear what Dave means about changes coming your way!

  10. I went to Mayfaire this morning with my friend/neighbor, Sharon. We got home about an hour before it started raining. I only bought a t-shirt, and an empanada from one of the food trucks. It was fun, though. Hopefully you can come next year!! The invite to visit is an open one, so come down for a visit whenever you can!! xo

  11. Linda, just so you know, you aren't the only one who has had a sharp tongue, lately. I've been very mouthy but in my defense, people are just being incredibly annoying and sometimes I feel like I am having to think for everybody! What in the world!? Did everybody's brain suddenly turn off? Anyhow...

I think y'all got a good deal on the electrical work! It is incredibly expensive to have anything done around here. $450 would probably just cover for someone to come out and tell us what we need to do.

I pray your job will get a little easier for you. It's no fun to have a stressful job and I can't even begin to imagine the stress of working where you do.

    Grace & Peace,
    Pam

  12. Yay, for a new shed! We need one pretty desperately, but with Tim feeling the way he has been it's been on hold since most of the stuff in there to move is his (my things are lucky to get one little corner and have his stuff piled on top). I hope we'll be able to get one soon, like before the old one falls down. I hear you on work politics. It can suck the joy out of an otherwise good job.

  13. I'm glad to hear that your electricity problem has been solved. Not too bad of a price considering. I hope you have a better week this week! Mine are so awful long!!!! I hope we make it to your area in June!
