Good morning from a frigid Florida! Where at 7:25 am it is currently 35* and real feel is 26*. You will be happy to know we did NOT get snow; however, it rained (poured) all night, and I am sure the roads are just a mess.
2. Tell us about the last time or a recent time you were caught up in red tape. Does it send your frustration level off the charts or is it something you've come to expect when dealing with any sort of bureaucracy?
I still have no office and today starts my first official day of holding classes and I still have no key to the padlock that keeps the gate locked. AND I am frustrated because I have to go back and forth carrying my things and it's freezing out. I might just need an attitude adjustment.
3. Do you eat/like fish? It depends. Do you cook fish at home? My husband does, grills it. What's your favorite fish dish? Cod or catfish. Ever been ice fishing? Yes, and I loved it.
4. Did you watch any of the US President's Inauguration coverage on Monday, Jan 20? On a scale of 1-10 (with 1 being not at all and 10 being very very) how interested are you in politics in general? Probably 8, more than usual...just useless stuff in my brain really. Do you follow/keep up with/ get involved with local politics? Nope. Although, the governor is my boss, and I did like him saying yesterday the Gulf of America. LOL
5. What's the coziest thing you own and what makes it so?
I still kept my northern sweaters, and they have come in handy, lately.

Folks, it is cold, and I do not look forward to driving into work. PLUS, I do not like my news hours, and they will probably have to be adjusted to later as well. I do not like getting home at 7pm. Yesterday, it took me 55 minutes to get to work...and work is only 19 miles. Yeah...NOT HAPPY.
I hope the first day of teaching your classes go very smoothly for you and that things you have no control over get squared away toot sweet.

Unusual to see all the pictures of the snow on the beach (Orange Beach). Your job sounds very stressful, not only the job itself, but in dealing with your working space and the hours. Prayers that there will be positive answers for all of this. I will eat fish if we are eating out, but we never cook it here at home. Glad you have those sweaters...to keep you warm...Hope your classes go well today for you.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Sorry you didn't get snow :) Or maybe you didn't really want any. We got about 4 inches and it's still on the ground this morning. Everyone had a great time playing in it yesterday. I liked it for a day, but am looking forward to the "warm" 40's this afternoon. I'm a southerner, through and through. Stay cozy today. Hope you get home before 7pm :)

This sort of weather is a real challenge in Florida. It's freezing here in SC today too. I saw where Pensacola had some kind of crazy amount of snow. I hope you get everything sorted at work so your job runs smoothly. Have a good day!

ReplyDeleteHello there, Linda. I'm sorry you're getting some winter down there, but good you kept some sweaters! My daughter-in-law, Grace, hails from Louisiana...her mama and grand-paw are getting snow, like 6 inches of it, first time ever. (Grace and my son live in Oswego with their three little ones, talk about snowy! Right on Lake Ontario!)(Last year she said winter there wasn't so bad, this year she recanted those words ha). We do have some ice for ice fishing...I went when I was younger and I loved it. Now, Paul can go with the boys and the grandkids, I'm fine to hold down the fort here where it's a little warmer. When it gets nicer down there, I'd like to visit the Gulf of America....:).

ReplyDeleteOH dear! At least you can sleep in a little later?? I wouldn't like going to work later either, especially during peak traffic times. I hope something works out for the better soon for you. Or maybe y'all can find a house closer to work so you wouldn't have to commute so far! I know, that's a long shot, but you have mentioned it so I thought I'd bring it up. Praying for God's direction for whatever you should or shouldn't do! I'm glad we didn't get the snowy/icy mix, but we sure did get some rain and it was COLD, esp. the wind. I hope you stayed warm today. (((Hugs)))

ReplyDeleteOh wow, hope everything gets sorted out with the padlock and the office and all you need as you start your new job! It's been very cold here too (central Ohio) and the drive to work etc has just been so unpleasant. Hopefully it will warm up for both of us very soon! Have a great week!

I can certainly see your frustration...and I hope all is resolved and there are much fewer treks through the frigid air while hauling your things. We have ended up with a couple of winter moves - and I don't recommend it. No snow but so cold. Not fun (not that moving is every really fun, but you know!)
