Thank you all for the kind thoughts, emails, snail mail, texts, IM'S, phone calls etc....they mean so much to us. Truly they do. Our son was a special young man and he loved life, period. Not many things got him down, nope...sure didn't.
This week let's talk about your name!
1. What name would you take if you had to change your name?
I like my name, period. So no changing it.
2. What is the meaning of your name.. how about your last name, do you know it's meaning?
Linda means beautiful. I know there are many versions of Conley (my married name). Conley Surname Origin Shortened form of Connolly, an anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Conghaile ‘descendant of Conghal’, a name meaning ‘hound valiant’ & The surname Conley was first found in County Offaly (Irish: Uíbh Fháilí) originally the Kingdom of Uí Failghe, located in central Ireland in the Province of Leinster, where they held a family seat from very ancient times. ----I will say they were bunch of drunkyards who got kicked out of Ireland, grin.
3. Do you think you fit your name and it's meaning?
Yes
4. Were you named after anyone or given your name for a specific reason? How about your kids?
My mom originally named me Jennifer Lynn. She didn't know my dad had been shot down in Vietnam. Then a Priest visited, and my name was changed...practically took a congressional thing. I was named Linda Marie after the nurse who saved my dad.

Interesting background on your name. I always think it is wonderful when a person likes the name given. Not my story, but I do like it when others do.

ReplyDeleteI never liked my name growing up. When I was a little girl I would never tell anyone what it was when they asked! I think I thought I was the only Jeanette in the world! It wasn't until well into adulthood that I finally started liking it for it's uniqueness! It also never dawned on me how bad my mom must have felt knowing how much I hated my name! Oh well, hope you are doing as well as you can, my friend.
ReplyDeleteNo, you're not a Jennifer Lynn. I like Linda Marie. Pretty name. I'm a Pamela Dawn. Don't know who I was named after as there are none such names in any of my family(s), birth or adopted. I guess my adopted Mom named me? One of many mysteries that will forever be unanswered. As long as God knows who I am and I'm covered by the blood of Jesus Christ, that's all that matters anyway. Amen? *wink*

ReplyDeleteLinda Marie, I love that your name has such meaning! I am Della Marie after my mom's mother, who died when my mom was only 14. As a kid, I HATED my name, I wanted to be a Jennifer or an Amy, or a Laura...there was no one else with my name...but now I don't mind it being different.
ReplyDeleteWOW...I never heard that story about your name before! That is amazing! How wonderful to name you to honor that nurse who saved your father's life! That is an incredible story. And yes, you do fit your name, or vice versa...I know you are beautiful even if I can't see you...you are beautiful from within as well as without, I have no doubt. Thinking about you constantly and praying for every day as new things and thoughts come to you. May God surround you with His ministering angels and give you peace no matter what.

Awe, I like Linda Marie. I have a Kristy Marie. My grandmother named me. Cynthia Fay. (Cindy) I never cared for Fay. But, knowing my grandmother named me makes it okay. Hugs to you.

ReplyDeleteI like your name. My sister Mary and I would often laugh. Mom had two baby sisters they lost at birth. One was Agnes and the other Frances. Mary says you would have gotten the better name Frannie! I say I know Aggie! But ruthfully we were named after both of our parents sisters with our very names. Very Catholic old school Mary and Anne. Plus A child I loved my patron saint as she was the mother of the Blessed Mother Mary. :-)
