Joining in with the fun of the Saturday 9, enjoy! Oh, I just read on line that Hallmark will have more 'inclusive' movies...I am afraid if that happens, I will not be watching Hallmark anymore...the sad state we have fallen into. Just saying. Oh and apologies, I have read your comments on the previous posts and I have fallen behind, yet again.
Saturday 9: The Champion (2018)
1) This song is about doing what it takes to win. What's the most recent competition you won? (Yes, online solitaire counts.)
Hmm...I recently had a heated discussion with a very liberal professor about the current state of American politics. Let's just say, I did mop the floor --one has to stay vigilant and update on facts and not act like snowflakes.
2) The lyrics tell us to "go ahead and put your bets on me." Do you often play games of chance -- like the office football pool, or slot machines, or the lottery?
When I have a few dollars to spend, I like the lottery.
3) The video includes footage of young people competing in The Special Olympics. What's your favorite sport to watch? Is it the same sport you most enjoying playing?
I like college football and no, never played it, lol. Although I did play Powder Puff (girls team) football in high school.
4) This week's featured artist, Carrie Underwood, first came to America's attention when she won on American Idol. Prior to competing on that show, she'd never been on an airplane. How old were you when you took your first flight?
When I was a little kid.
5) Carrie loves horror and her favorite author is Stephen King. What book are you currently reading?
My final historical paper is about the 'Blood Diamonds' Industry in South Africa. So, I am reading a lot of books about that.
6) Carrie's duet partner on "The Champion" is rapper Ludacris. In addition to making music, he acts and has appeared in one Sam's favorite shows, Law & Order: SVU. What's your favorite "cop show?"
I like Blue Bloods, but haven't seen it in a long time.
7) Ludacris is a distant cousin of comedian Richard Pryor. Have you studied your family's genealogy?
Yep. My fathers side is Yugoslavian and my mothers side is German and Danish. My husband is Scot/Irish/English. So, Heinz 57 here as well.
8) Soccer was a big deal in 2018, the year this song was released. According to Google, "FIFA World Cup" was the news story that generated the most internet searches. What's the last thing you "googled?"
I don't use Google, I use Bing and I Binged Alrosa, it is a Russian Diamond Company that is quickly becoming the leader in diamonds and has put De Beers down to #3 now.
9) Random question: You're battling the flu. The doctor advises you to stay in bed a full five days. As you begin feeling better (around Day 3), do you continue to follow doctor's orders? Or do you get up and start moving before you're supposed to?
I don't usually stay in bed when sick, usually have too much to do...so when I do, that means I am really sick, lol.

Wow, some interesting responses.
ReplyDeletelolol...I think. LOLOLOL---have a great weekend, friend.
DeleteNot my genre.... give me the oldies..... Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGirl...please tell me Hallmark movies aren't about to be UGLY! I love me some Hallmark movies. I need to look into this! Thanks for coming by to visit me. I have been slow at getting around lately too to visit others. My life has been full. But there will be no blogging next week as I plan to enjoy every day with my daughters and granddaughters in New York. Say a little prayer for our safety too. Wish you would be closer so I could at least get a hug! So since I won't be....I am hugging you now!!! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteHi Linda. Fun answers! I love that you took your "liberal" professor task. Good for you. You go girl! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and prayers for finishing strong in your classes.
ReplyDeleteI remember when she was on American Idol.
ReplyDeleteI hate horror movies!
I don't stay in bed when sick either. I think you get better quicker if you move.
Big questions - big answers! Hallmark needs to leave things alone; I flew the first time when I was 12 when I flew to Texas to spend the summer with my cousins and their family. When I am sick sick, I stay in bed, otherwise I dont either. Have a blessed Sunday.
