 Good morning. Joining in on the Currently meme. Yes, it was time for me to change the background here...the pink was just too much. LOL

...It is a bit humid, even though the temperature is 60* with 95% humidity and 58* dewpoint and cloudy. It rained like crazy last night, finally. The house says 80, hubby has since put the ac on. Yep, in January.

...I haven't watched anything yet this morning. Yesterday we watched a variety of different things; Home Reimagined, House Hunters, the news, a movie Nobody 2. It was a very lazy daisy day.

...not wanting to go back to work tomorrow. LOL

...made some more Amazon purchases with some gift cards I had; 2026 calendar, a Pandora Darth Vadar charm for my bracelet (only because I am telling you, I swear I heard my son😁), some charm stoppers (that go in between the charms), hubby wanted a fire pit ring for the fire pit.

**keeping an eye on some Sketchers--they are supposed to go on sale soon.

...thinking of keeping the kitchen cabinets/rehabbing them. Hubby said the bottom ones are in good shape, not the 3 uppers. We are not changing the shape of the kitchen, just going updated and moving the sink to under the window and I am hoping to find room for a dishwasher. That is a dream not a necessity.

... I did make sweet cornbread yesterday. Oops I overfilled it, nonetheless, it was good.

...making me smile. When hubby was packing away the Christmas stuff, he found one of the trivets from the Hudson Valley where we use to live all those years ago. He can't remember where he put the other. I have been on the lookout for some Delft tiles, hoping to go French country for the kitchen...again, a dream not a necessity.

Saturday Morning...yesterday happenings

 Good morning. I hope this post finds each of you well. It's not as cold as it has been, but still chilly.

We had a pretty good day yesterday. Headed out to visit my folks, who live 5 miles away.

We visited my parents at their lovely home, not my childhood home, as they sold that house when our son was a baby.

Hard to believe they have been in this house for 29 years. Where have 29 years gone? Dad was saying over the Christmas holiday the furnace went out, the fridge and stove went out, and it cost them $10,000 and that was the real reason why they asked us to stay away. You could of and should have told us...lucky, they have a gas fireplace that kept them warm. 

We exchanged gifts...funny thing is last year we all agreed no gifts. But my mother and I can't help ourselves. We got them a bunch of gift cards; Starbucks (Mom), Burger King (Dad), Lowes, Home Goods, Marshalls, Publix etc. Mom gets so excited when she gets her own gift cards, Dad does not like Starbucks and he prefers Burger King. Mom, she hates Burger King. 😂 

Our bag was filled with goodies; my mom since I was a teenager gives new blankets/throw and an ornament every Christmas. And then my dad said something about houses being expensive etc. and what was our plans etc. This seems to be a topic for them. And we our honestly thinking about and been looking at single/duplex type condos with a garage, coming to the realization of age and limitations etc. and the cost of things. It's hard to believe my husband will be 60 in March and I will be 59. They suggested this and that areas to live and then my mom goes, "So, have you thought of just staying where you are and fixing the kitchen?" Out of the blue...so I knew they were thinking about things...so, yeah, but again, the expense because of tariffs etc.--then they handed us a check to get the cabinets--and dad goes, "Not yet, Linda because of tariff prices, wait a bit." Wow, shocked. Just shocked. And for you folks who think that the tariffs aren't real--they are. So, in a few months or so, we need to get a plumber here to move the plumbing/ sink and we will do the rest ourselves, including the countertops and flooring. Opening a can of worms, so to speak. I already have the cabinets/design picked out-and have been watching the prices etc. (been dreaming for nearly 4 years). So, I guess we will stay here for a couple more years and continue to watch the market. 

...and since we were hungry, we went to Las Margaritas as hubby wanted tacos and I got Beef Enchiladas, very good and then we stopped at Publix to get some things. 

Came home and put on the wax candle (Maple Cream) and watched some tv. So, all in all, it was a good day.
