Apologies for the non-blogging (it's been a long week at work) and late posting on this nippy Saturday evening.
Looking out my window...it's dark at 7:25 pm and quite nippy at 43*. We are under a hard freeze warning--yep in Central Florida.
I am thinking... As I look around, I am on the couch and hubby is in my chair. Funny how he likes the chair and I like the couch. Anyways, I am quite comfortable in our home.
I am thankful for... a good job that pays well and I can afford to go clothes and shoe shopping, which we did today, hence the reason for the late post--thank you Marshalls. HOWEVER, I am not happy about the rising prices of groceries.
One of my favorite things...arriving home safe and sound every day from work and seeing my husband.
I am creating...I already created a pepperoni pizza for dinner---a late dinner. Only because hubby decided to make malted milkshakes when we got home at 4. And I forgot the mushrooms for the pizza, oh well, it was still good.
I am wearing...pj pants with a flamingo green and pink print and a long sleeve pink pullover.
Pondering...
had my yearly exam yesterday (left work at noon) ...I am down 56 lbs. However, I will have to see a specialist for my arthritis. This cold snap has flared up the nasty bugger of arthritis.
I have not taken photos...I bought 4 pairs of new shoes; 2 mules/sandals and 2 dressier low heel shoes, pair of cream color slacks.
I came home yesterday afternoon to a nice surprise. My husband moved his clothes out of the master walk in closet and made me a nice dressing area. He might have made a comment about someone having too many shoes and clothes. LOL. Of course, I color coded everything---I tweaked it a bit from what he made. It was a very nice gesture he had done. He might had made a comment also that he was tired of hearing me grumbling I couldn't find anything---oops. grin.
I am pleasantly surprised at my Fitbit apparently; I am doing 10,000 steps on a daily basis.
Going tomorrow for a much-needed haircut. I will not be going back to the same girl I had been seeing--two months ago she had cut my hair uneven---and I was not very happy.

So, I was appointed to Senior Clerk which comes with a nice raise. I also will be training two new people who are replacing a person who left and my old position.

Hi Linda. Congrats on the promotion and raise! Good job. I am sure you are well-liked at your job. Wow, you are doing great on the weight loss! I need to make an appointment for my yearly bloodwork/physical. Thanks for the reminder. I like to get it over with early in the year whenever possible. Sounds like you got some nice new clothes and shoes. So glad you and Dave are getting settled and are comfortable in your new home. It's always good to hear from you. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the promotion, Linda! That's wonderful news!! And congrats on the great weight loss, too! I wish it would rub off on me! I haven't been to Marshall's in a long time. May need to pop in there soon! Happy weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the promotion! So fun to get new shoes an clothes. And yes, grocery prices are ridiculous!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your promotion! Very well deserved! And yay for new shoes and clothes! That’s always fun! 😁 Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Linda! Both on the weight loss AND that well-deserved promotion. I hear you on that awful arthritis -- not so much for me (I've got pills) but our pups aren't taking it so well. 28* at 6:30 this morning.
ReplyDeleteA promotion? That's wonderful news, Linda! And your husband certainly sounds like a gem to have around - so thoughtful and organized. This reminds me that I need to do some clothes purging from my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
OH wow! I missed this post...a promotion!!! Amazing! You've only been there how long? I guess you've made quite the impression!! Very proud of you and happy for you and the nice raise in pay!! I am glad you've gone shopping and gotten yourself some new shoes and things you need/want? With the promotion and the weight loss I am sure the new clothes, etc. are much needed! So happy for you!! And I love that Dave has created a nice dressing area/closet for you! He's a sweetie and a keeper! What a wonderful post full of good news!! God is good.
ReplyDeleteWe just had a new gal cut our hair. She did a terrific job. The other gal, Brittany from Wyoming is a little too into the energy and power and all that nonsense. But this one was getting ready for a cruise to Mexico. when you see a cartel taking over an airport you wonder, gee, should I hope aboard and go to Mexico? Of course, you could go to Canada where the Children's Hospital in Toronto is practicing assisted suicide and parents do not know until their precious babies are gone. I am not much for a big cruise off our shores. I remember the Achille Lauro where those ship pirates tossed a disabled American man overboard in 1985. Sad memories.
ReplyDeleteAs for more happy thoughts your hubby is a real gem, making you such a space for your dressing area and shoe carousel. Heehee do you remember Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell in Overboard? He was the carpenter who created the rolling shoe closet for her. hahaha so cute. Glad you received a raise at work for all your hard work. As broken as our daughter Noelle is over the loss of her love of her life Roger, she was in their excellence circle again this quarter t her job. Her boss said, I do not know how you did it. It feels good to be appreciated though. New shoes and clothes woo hoo. I currently do not need a thing but love hearing about your shopping adventure. Glad you are getting some visits from phamily. I am just happy for you Linda. May God continue to bless you both.
Good for you, Linda, a new position at work. More money, spectacular.
