yes, friends, I know I am behind, just go with it, lol
TIME: 8:15 AM
SCENE: 57*, 94% Humidity, 57* dewpoint and sunny. It is supposed to warm up to 79*.
DRINKING: First cup of Kendra Breakfast Blend with Italian Creamer.
WHAT'S FOR DINNER? Hubby is making Spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread.
PONDERING: The second day of Christmas has bought a beautiful gift from friend/blogging friend Deb:
My husband, "I think it should go by Liam. He would have asked to take it anyways." Which, he would have. Which brings me to the 2023 word--but I think Psalms 46:10 is pretty good. Will continue to pray on it. Although, I have not cried out in anger of the loss of our only son/child, I have trusted God and the knowledge that our son was a born again and never once questioned his Faith on where he would spend eternity. That has given us great comfort.
The second day of Christmas bought our usual Saturday outing to the thrift and antique stores here in Ocala. Where my husband found this lovely Uranium Green Depression stand--pretty unique and it caused quite an argument between us right there in the store. It was quite expensive at $28. He said, "I don't care, it makes you smile." So, it went home with us.
and there it sits with the rest of the Depression glass in the China cabinet with a small glass flower that I had. And then we got a phone call...
The second day of Christmas also bought sad news. Friends of ours in Alabama, lost their only child, Madison yesterday. She was 12 years old (I have lost track of time, as I told fellow friend Sparky she was 10). Madison had a long 10 yr. battle with cancer. What a bittersweet time for her parents and my heart goes out to them. It brings me comfort to know she too believed, and I am certain Liam and many others welcomed her safely into Heaven. Something tells me that kid of mine is on some sort of welcoming committee as he was in church. He was a good mentor to the young kids etc. My heart just breaks for the Arnold family...
WHATS ON TAP FOR THE DAY? Since I personally was so profoundly sad and overcome with grief (just keeping it real), we came home yesterday and never made it to the grocery store. So, today we have to head out to the grocery store and Walmart.
Speaking of which, hubby did decorate a small portion of our fence line for Christmas and no, I have not taken a photo yet, as we have to buy a bow. It seems our neighborhood is full of Christmas spirit, which brings joy to my old weary heart.
P.S. Thank you, Vee for saying I do not have apathy...sometimes though, I will admit, sometimes a thought will enter my mind...just keeping it real.

First, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your friends' child, Madison. Praying for her family and for you. Your find at the thrift/antique shop is a beautiful piece. And I agree with your on getting it because it makes you happy. What a beauitful gift you received from Deb. Wishing you a blessed and peaceful day, Linda.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry about your friend’s daughter. I will certainly say a prayer for that family. I love that your Liam was a Christian. I think one of the greatest gifts we could have as a parent is knowing without a shadow of a doubt that our children are saved.
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful new happies! The cross is beautiful and that uranium stand is just amazing! 😍
I am just getting caught up this week but was so proud to see about your interview! They know a good thing when they see it! No doubt you have probably gotten them more efficient and organized than they have been in a long while.
I love that depression glad hanger. It's beautiful and you definitely deserve it! I think Liam would love the cross ornament, too! I'm so sorry for your friends loss of their daughter. Peace to you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could keep it as real as you're doing, Linda. Many blessings!
ReplyDeleteHow sad for your friends whose daughter passed - I feel for their parents who are now in this club, none of us ever wanted to be in.
ReplyDeleteThat uranium green stand is lovely as well as unique. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
Have you met any of your neighbors yet?
I love how Dave is always looking to make you happy, and I know Liam had that same trait.
ReplyDeleteI love thinking of Liam welcoming people in heaven.
That Deb is a sweetheart, such a nice gift!
So sorry for your friends loss. You know all too well what they are going through.
What a beautiful gift! Don't the citizens of Bloggerville have the most generous hearts? Speaking of which, I'm glad David won the argument. That stand looks perfect with the glass flower!
ReplyDeletePrayers for Madison's family.
Awesome uranium glassware. It's very unique. Yeah, it would have come home with me too. Good choice.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Madison's family. I can't imagine how heartbreaking it is to lose a child.
Thanks for e-mailing about what I mentioned. You are always so kind and thoughtful. I'm glad we're friends. Makes me feel so special.
Sending Love & Prayers.
Sparky xx
I am so sad for your friends and sorry for their heart-breaking loss. Prayers lifted for them. Good for Dave, insisting that you bring that beautiful and interesting piece of depression glass home with you. Nice find! Wishing you both blessings in the week ahead!! xo
ReplyDeleteOH dear Linda, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your friends' daughter Madison, and so young too. Sounds like she has had a difficult life, but I love that she knew Jesus and now she is surrounded by Jesus and the ministering angels, and she is perfectly whole and healed for the first time in her life! And yes, I DO believe Liam is on that welcoming committee! My son Matthew is too. He didn't know your son or Madison, but somehow I think he is there helping them to feel right at home in their forever home. Yes, it is a difficult "club" we parents who have had to say farewell to our children belong to. Not a place any of us wanted to be, but God saw otherwise and knew that somehow we would find each other and would be able to give comfort to one another as needed. (((hugs))) to you and for your friends. Oh, that green glass thing is beautiful! I've never seen anything like it! I'm glad Dave insisted on you getting it. And that gift that Deb sent you...what a thoughtful gift indeed. Wow. Priceless! Oh, I am glad you are decorating your outdoors and indoors and getting ready for Christmas. Liam would want you to celebrate. I do hope you will have a blessed and beautiful Christmas season, and may God's peace be your peace, and His joy your joy. Amen.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your friends' loss. No one understands that better than you and Dave.
ReplyDeleteSweet, meaningful gift from your blog friend.
I really like green depression glass...is that an early gift of Christmas?
Linda, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, and I will pray for her and her parents. I do indeed imagine your precious son meeting her and showing her the ropes up there. Take one day at a time this Christmas season. Show yourself some compassion, ok? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your friend's daughter. Heart breaking. We lost a friend this week too and we are crushed. Only 60 years young. Massive heart attack. Just retired in May, new grandbaby in September and he and his wife, my friend, enjoying the fruits of their labors. I know God is in total control but our hearts ache. Praying for us all and asking our Lord to reach down and touch us with His tender hand. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for your friends loss...I can't even imagine! I'm so glad your hubby won that argument. The stand is beautiful and I'm glad it makes you smile.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, that is a nice gift from Deb. She has a very giving heart! It was nice how you placed it next to your son's picture. Sorry about your friend's loss. Glad to see you were able to add to your depression glass collection. Enjoy your week!

ReplyDeleteGentle hugs...

Just wanted to leave you a note before I shut down the laptop until sometime in January. So sorry to hear of young Madison... will add her family to our prayers. I've been thinking of you a lot, you should know that by now, even if I'm not around much. Sending you much love, and asking for the Lord to hold you guys tight as you go through this season. Big, huge cyber hugs, my friend!!
ReplyDeleteSo sad for Madison and her family! To think that she lived almost all her life battling cancer. She and Liam are free of pain and can walk those streets of gold now. Hugs to you at this time.
