Joining in on the Tuesday Meme with Ann and friends. Thank you all for the kind comments yesterday. I think we will take it easy today; hot, hot, hot...and the central ac was finally put back on (Kim doesn't like the ac so she keeps it off when Bob is away-the last 2 weeks it has been near 90 with humidity, so you can imagine. Bob will be home sometime today.). I'M NOT COMPLAINING, it's not my house that's all I'm saying. ANYWAYS, onwards...
1. If you had one million dollars to spend only on yourself, what would you spend it on?
Build a small cottage/house, pay it off, pay off bills etc. and help friends. And put some away.
2. You can do it again. What decade are you going back to and why? What's the attraction?
Nope. Not willing to go back...I like the modern convivences way to much thank you very much, LOL. Although the 40's-50's look nice and wholesome.
3. What's the last song that got stuck in your head? Alternatively, what's your current favorite song?
Sweet Home Alabama is always stuck in my head. Even before our son passed away, now more so. grin
4. What items do you miss from the past and wish they were still around?
My own home...I know it's not an item and what your asking. Amazingly, we found RC Cola and Squirt Cola here and some other items that up north never had. So, RC and Squirt it is.
LAST THOUGHT

Hi Linda. I agree that one of the first thing I would do if I had a million dollars would be pay off the mortgage and help others! I hope you can find a good doctor. Have a nice day. I hope all goes well. See you again soon.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb...I hope you have a beautiful day, smiles.
DeleteLinda, I love seeing the progress on your land, it's so exciting. We built this house in a cornfield, now we have a forest of trees. You are just going to love love love your brand new home. I can't imagine that heat and humidity for long periods of time, wowza. I'd be a big giant puddle. But hey, no snow, and it's temporary, one day at a time, as you will be in your own place before you even know it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the humidity is something to be desired (hey least the skin is glistering, LOLOL---the hair--flat LOLOLOL). I hope you have a beautiful day, Della. smiles
DeleteHave a good Tuesday, Linda. And yes, you need to find a doctor there. Love the song that plays in your head!
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin...hope you have a lovely day my friend.
DeleteI think I'd choose the 40's or 50's too -- for the same reason. Most everyone loved our Country's leaders, respected the police and hung Old Glory loud n' proud. Yes, please find a doctor sooner rather than later!
ReplyDeletePS - Wow on that heat and humidity; I know, I know. Our time is coming. But when the thermostat registered 78 degrees the other day I put my foot down and turned on the A/C.
Yeppppppppp Alabama's coming sooner than later, grin. It was 87 in here the house the last week or so...miserable. Just saying.
DeleteDropping weight can really make a big difference in your meds. At least it does mine. So tell me, why don't I just lose some weight and get off some of this medication? lol
ReplyDeleteSweet Home Alabama is a great song!! I agree and have no desire to go back. I too like our modern conveniences.
Take care friend and have a great day!
Well, I am taking a low dosage for my high blood pressure...but it clearly states on the bottle NO SUN. LOL--but seriously, I will get it looked at. smiles
DeleteRC cola and put a bag of peanuts inside... better, a Doc Pepper!
ReplyDeleteoh yeah and you can do that with Coke or Pepsi, grin. When our son was little, we did that as a Science project---he got a kick out of it, smiles.
DeleteI’ve heard of RC cola but never Squirt Cola. I like the regular Squirt -
DeleteWith the costs of AC we might have to rethink where we set it. I like it set at 76. Sometimes that is cold for me and the bones ache. But “ they” are suggesting 78. It all depends on the cost. 115 degrees is not good without AC. I have ceiling fans but need a couple of box fans to help spread the cold air. I can’t imagine how many of the old timers here actually lived without AC. Ugh!
My apologies, it is regular Squirt. My husband just said to me, "Why are you calling it cola? It's not." yikes so sorry...the temp inside the house is set at 75 and its comfortable. smiles---I agree 115* is not good without ac---nor is the temps we have been having near 90. grin Have a great day friend.
DeleteI haven't heard of that...I will have to look it up, have a great day.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely get to the doctor soon and discuss your need for any of your meds.. Life changes are difficult and you have had more than are good for you in a short period of time. Please take care and stay out of the sun as much as you can! Love, Schotzy
ReplyDeleteThank you...will do...I hope you have a beautiful day, smiles.
DeleteI enjoyed your answers....I like that song too.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear the AC is back on. I think Kim might understand if you explained about your blood pressure, etc. I can't imagine anyone not wanting the AC on here in FL. this time of year...but then again, she's at work all day, right? But still, the house must be very hot when she gets home. I hope they have lots of fans. Yes, you need to find a Dr. sooner rather than later. I wish I could tell you the name of some, but I didn't have a Dr. in Ocala when we lived near there. Where does Kim go? And yes, you may need adjustments to medications. I can't wait to see you Saturday. I enjoyed your answers.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to the south with its RC and Squirt!
ReplyDeleteI imagine your dealings with he movers did little to help your blood pressure!
If I lived in a humid state like Florida every day would be a bad hair day! I don't know how your friend could stand having the AC off!
ReplyDeleteGood heavens, yes! If you've lost a good amount of weight I'm sure you definitely need to readjust your bp meds. That said, I think it's just part of getting older. I want the warm weather, but I can't take the heat these days. It was only 83 up here this weekend, but I was dying. We love Squirt! Our little neighborhood grocery store is the only place I know that carries it. I like it alone, but it's also the best for mixed drinks and spritzers.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, I think it is a good idea to get checked out and get your medicine adjusted. Especially since you lost weight. I hope you feel better soon!♥
ReplyDeleteNo AC in Florida is punishing. I hope you got some relief today. Take care and drink lots of water, I say sounding like a mother hen.
ReplyDeleteAs a teenager I was always drawn to 50's and 60's music. My mother said I was born "after" my time... I think the 50's would have been a great time to be alive in my little town. :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for 90 degree weather! I'm so tired of this yo-yo we are on here. Let' just have Spring for a bit then move right into summer!!!!
{{wink, wink}}
Sweet Home Alabama is a good one and now you have it in my head! At least I like it. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, that is very hot without air. Here it is 40 and cold...
You need to go to the Dr and get that BP checked!
I love your flamingo siggie! Hope you get some recommendations for a new doctor and get that done soon! Saturday is getting closer!! xo
