Thank you all for the kind comments on the previous post from Sunday. I have fallen behind once again. I am settling into my new job; loving it, everyone is really nice, I am being trained/mentored by men, come to find out I am the only female who works in that part. That's ok, they show no mercy, not that I want them too. I am fully expected to do the job etc. Two days in and its going really good. I sat for nearly 3 hours yesterday and took a test on Beer; got a question? I can answer it; all about beer, ales, porters, American, German, English, California, Russian etc. I was jokingly told, perhaps that's the area I shall work. HA. ANYWAYS, all is good. Happy as a clam, so much better than my previous job. I have another 2 weeks of training. Hours are great, off today and my feet don't hurt, just saying.
2. Tell us something about where you were and what you were doing in June of 1988? If you weren't born yet, June of 1998. Or if that doesn't work, June of 2008.
3. A place in your home or outdoor space where you feel 'snug as a bug in a rug'?
4. June is National Fresh Fruits and Vegetable Month. Do you normally get your 4-5 servings each day?
Nope
What's a favorite summer dish you make/serve/like to be served-ha! made with one of your favorite summer fruits.
Strawberries or blueberries, no specific dish.
A favorite summer dish made with a favorite summer veg?
Corn on the Cob, especially if hubby grills it. He pulls the husks down and slathers it with mayo or salad dressing, salt and pepper than puts the husks back up. Wraps it in foil.
How do you feel about cooking in the summer months?
Hubby does the cooking outside, no central ac here.
5. Do you have a summer reading list? If so share a title or two we can add to our own.
Nope...no summer reading list. My son and I have a tv show though
6. Insert your own random thought here.

Glad things are going well..... have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteYou too Bunk...our governors are sure hanging onto this covid mess huh? Hardly any folks are wearing masks, oh there are some Karens...but I think folks have had enough. There are some businesses (such as the gym who are segregating) who are jus darn right nasty...
DeleteLinda, I missed the info on a new job!! Good for you. And Man In The High Castle is AMAZING!!! I loved watching it. Enjoy!Hot and humid here.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you that you are loving your new job and those shoes are cute.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that the new job is going well! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the clogs you ordered.
ReplyDeleteClogs are great, unless you need to run or ride a motorcycle. *lol* They are comfortable. I wear them a lot in the winter time.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite summer dish is what Steve fixed this morning: cold cucumber salad. For me, it goes great with just about any meat dish. Easy to fix, cheap and tasty. Win win.
I'm re-reading "Katherine Of Aragon, The True Queen" by Alison Weir. It's a dramatized version of the time during Henry VIII. And in the evenings, I bought all the NCIS series from 1-13 on DVD's. It's been fun re-watching the show.
That's good that the new job is working out so well. That makes me happy too.
Love xx
So glad things are going well sweet lady. Will pray for your new job. Well, I must admit Linda, I have always preferred working with men than women. For one thing, most men don't try to get into my business. LOL! Women...a different breed. Ha! Speaking of Crocs, some of my grands love them. Me? I have never liked them. But, I see lots of folks wearing them as they say they are so comfortable. Thanks for the tip on the corn on the cob! I am going to have to try that one! I hope the rest of your week goes well. Hugs and blessings to you. Cindy
ReplyDeleteGlad the new job is going well and who wouldn't like free shoes?!! I was told I get $55 to spend on FWC shirts. Would rather have those clogs!! ;) Joyce gave us another fun Hodgepodge!
ReplyDeleteI thrilled to hear you're enjoying that job! Thanks for the tip on grilling corn on the cob. We, too, do our best not to heat the house any more than is necessary.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad to hear you are liking the job. It has been a long time coming, for sure. Oh yum...I'll be right up for some of that corn! It sounds amazing. Does he soak it so the husks don't burn? Hmm, that book and show sound interesting! Is it on regular Prime or do you have to upgrade to watch? I hope the rest of your week goes just as well!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to read this job report!
ReplyDeleteI've never had grilled corn on the cob. Going to have to try that.
That program sounds like one we would like!
Hi Linda, Glad to hear your job is going well. Enjoying the place you spend a good portion of your day helps A LOT! I giggled at the 1988 question... more the wording of it. LOL I was 8 years old and getting ready for summer vacation to start. hehe I hope you enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThat poor, popped corn. First coolish day 75° in a week of 90° days so I am happy again.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that work is not a pita and that you are getting along so well. Good idea to look around at the footwear. May the shoes be just as comfortable for you.
We also skipped Spring this year! Went from 40's to upper 80's overnight! I'm sorry your house hunt is not going good and you are getting bad news from the realtor all the time! I'm gad you are loving your job so far!
ReplyDeleteWe went from Noah's Ark rain to the 90's. It is currently 100. I was happy not knowing that fun fact at 6 PM in the evening. Ha! I love my fresh berries all summer long. Losing my dear friend Sharon made our middle Rebekah say she is going to make Sharon's Strawberry pound cake trifle in her honor. It has calories galore but as Julia Child would say, why use fake butter, fake cream etc. Use the real deal or don't use anything at all. Not exactly her words but Julia knew how to cook fabulous meals. Happy your new job is going well. Take care HUGS
