Yes. During the summers, my dad would take us the amusement parks up and down the East Coast.
Which rides/parks did you enjoy the most or what snack foods to you enjoy when you are out and about?
I love roller coasters, well use too...I also love funnel cakes.

Both photos are dated July 8, 2002. We were only a short 2 hr drive to Chattanooga and spent many weekends up there. Back when my son loved trains.
At Rock City, Chattanooga (husband in sleeveless and son standing to his left.) So much fun--my son was squealing and waving "Look at me!!! No hands!"---good Lord I thought that child was going to give me a heart attack that day, that was right before we found out our son needed open heart surgery-had a hole his in heart which we didn't know.

DeleteWhen all this stuff and nonsense is over, y'all might wanna book a ride on a steam locomotive for a day trip. I think Son would really enjoy that. We did that once. It was quite an experience. Makes one appreciate modern times. LOL

DeleteWow, that had to have been a difficult time in your lives, when your son needed heart surgery. So thankful he survived and is a blessing to you in so many ways today. I know what you mean about kids "giving us a heart attack" with their adventures. Just like my oldest son telling me last week that he jumped into Tallulah Gorge/Falls when he was in college. I'm glad I wasn't there at the time. Sometimes I think our kids keep their guardian angels exceptionally busy! Enjoyed your post. We love trains too.
ReplyDeleteIt was very difficult, because we were originally told it was lung cancer (yep). I refused to settle for a lame answer. Poor thing was probed and prodded. smiles

ReplyDeleteMy son was always good at giving heart attacks, and he also had some health issues. Those kids will do it to us - even when they are adults!
