Currently Saturday

Good morning looks like a rainy day on tap for us here in Central Florida.

Currently in my part of the world...

Weather: 71* and partly cloudy

Watched: What did we watch? Oh, Gutfeld because we went out to dinner at our favorite place, Milano, last night after I got home from work. Enjoyed each other company, we had a drink (Cafe Americano and Pumpkin Martini), had dinner (Salmon salad and pizza). I didn't take any photos, but the place is all decorated for Halloween.

Memories: Long story short...my dad's best friend of 80 years, "Uncle Rich" has work for my husband to do. He came over and had a nice talk with hubby. Anyway, down memory lane last night.

--remembering their old crickety family house in the forest. Still there. My aunt prefers to hide out there.😊

--running through the corn fields at that house and jumping in mud puddles and my mother getting hopping mad about it. We were never allowed to go back. Gosh, my mother was mad. So mad that people live that way...on that thought, I wonder how my mom got so "righteous" uppity.

--the stiches I got when my cousin Chris through a rock and split my head open when we were kids.

--Just a lot of memories that were bought up and one in particular:

Hubby: I didn't know your aunt and uncle lived in a mobile home when they got married in '64. (Uncle was showing him photos) and why my parents hate where we live. My uncle did a lot of praising to my husband about us and the hard work we have done on the house/property etc. God love him, I have always loved my uncle and aunt...even though they are not blood related.

Thinking: Memories can be good or bad and reflective. I really need to get over and see my aunt...they are always busy; they have great grandkids now...amazing how life just keeps going.

Loving: I wish I could say the weather. It is still hot and humid. Although yesterday was breezy and quite nice.

At work: The bossman came in yesterday to my classroom and laid the law down to the inmates. Bless him...and on that thought, I swear he winked at me. I have an officer that comes in now...Sgt. P. she had me practically in stiches yesterday...she also laid the law down--and then she goes, "I love you Ms. Conley." LOLOLOLOL--good Lord, you cray cray saying that in a prison. LOLOLOLOL

Grateful: no matter how life is at work, just grateful for staff and their general good attitudes no matter how bad it gets.

Doing today: Well, there were a few yard sales we were going to go too...and yet, here I sit not moving. Need to grocery shop.

Making me giggle:

Funny thing is...he knows and can count on me to clock in at 9:23 and leave at 5:53. Every.single.day.

Pretty much...although not lately, it has been raining.

Have a great day all, Peace Out.

Hodgepodge into October

Good morning. Another warm one here in Florida...what else is new, right?

1. What's your favorite fall scent? Pumpkin and caramel.

old photo from when we lived up north.

Would we find this in or around your home right now? Why, yes you would. However, I have Pancakes and syrup wax in it right now. Yes, Pancakes and syrup from Tractor Supply.

2. October is Country Music Month...are you a fan of country music? No, not really. I do like the old stuff, not this new stuff. No thanks. Do you have a favorite country artist? No, not really. Ever been to Nashville? Yes, not my thing.  In terms of lifestyle are you more country mouse or city mouse? Country mouse. Although we are close to the city.

3. How about 'country cooking'? (loosely defined as rich flavors, familiar foods, large portions, often fried, and often associated with the southern region of the US of A)?

chicken and dumplings-fried chicken-shrimp and grits-biscuits and gravy-mac and cheese-fried green tomatoes-cornbread-collard or turnip greens-deviled eggs-'barbecue'-gumbo-banana pudding

Which of the foods listed is your favorite? Everything but shrimp, I am allergic to it. Any on the list you haven't tried or would say a firm no thank you to if offered? No thanks to shrimp.

4. What's something that always has a positive impact on your mood?

Candle waxes, baby/children laughter, videos of faraway places, the beach etc.

5. As we say so long to September share a noun, a verb, and an adjective that tells us something about how that month looked for you.

Sigh...I don't know...how about...just UGH. (can't help but think 9 more years to retirement)

6. Insert your own random thought here.

the witch table runner. ????? where did it come from?????

Hubby has set out more fall stuff...stuff he is finding in the shed. Stuff I didn't we know we had. Strange. More on that another day.

p.s. referring to the gvt. shutdown, there are no adults left in either room. Just saying.

~Peace Out~
