Good morning from a balmy Florida. I do believe summer is upon us here. I let the dog out at 12:30 last night and it was 85*. Just plain ick.
Let's talk about you personally.
1. Do you pamper yourself at all? Pamper? Like get nails or spa day. Nope. If yes, how do you do that? It would be nice to get my nails done professionally, but simply put, can't afford it. I know there are people at work who do and pay close $150. No thanks. I can think of better ways to spend money.
2.What kinds of foods/dishes do you consider to be a real treat? Donuts. Donuts are a treat. We get donuts twice a month. Yesterday we got Raspberry filled aka Jelly.
3. What luxury item/items do you consider would be very hard to do without? (like buying books, having your hair done... just about anything you really could do without but prefer not to.)
Since moving back here, I have had to change my whole routine of not buying generic hair products. I now invest in good haircare products (because of the humidity) of Paul Mitchell Awaphui shampoo and conditioner, Sebastian Potion #9 for leave in conditioner and Paul Mitchell Ginger hairspray. I still use Dove soap and Jergens lotion. I also get my hair done/trimmed every 4 weeks. Speaking of which, I will prob. go today as the guy who cuts my hair is only in on Sundays.
Books--I love books. Prob, could do without, but I love them. Because when the electrical grid and war breaks out etc. I will have books to read LOL.
4. What kind of holiday or vacation would be a total luxury with which you might pamper yourself?
Anytime we can get to the beach. Just sit there and do nothing, not have to worry about hair, makeup, what kind of clothes to wear (getting dressed for work) etc. Just put on that bathing suit, cover, ball cap and go. The sand and water do wonders for my arthritic feet. Not to mention allergies...just breathing in the salt air does wonder for one's mind and soul.

It is pouring rain here today, and it is supposed to get down into the 30s at night the next few days. I am not looking forward to hot weather. I hope you have a good week. See you again soon!
ReplyDeleteI get pedicures because I like nice feet. I do my own fingernails. It’s $40 with senior discount! I get my hair trimmed every 6 weeks - $25 with senior discount. Thank God for those senior discounts. They keep raising the age limit but now that I’m 70 I think I’m good! 😉
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had fun "picking" stuff...even a pick axe! LOL. We used to love doing that, but we just have TOO mUCH STuff now, so it's time to start having our own sales! LOL. Yeah, if you don't get out early to do stuff outside, you might as well forget it. We need RAIN really badly! Maybe stop this heat wave! Still Waters Pond is going to be Still Waters Desert pretty soon. But then June/July comes along and it fills back up. I never heard of those hair items, but hey, whatever works for you is what you need to do! Those jelly donuts sound good. I haven't had a good donut in ages. Not a big jelly donut fan, but then again, one wouldn't hurt me, would it? I like the cream filled better, I think. But prefer apple cider donuts in the fall with a cup of hot mulled cider...think cool mountain air and fresh apples! Sound heavenly right now! I hope you get to the beach soon. ReplyDeleteYep, the summer humidity is here. I doubt we get another respite from the heat and humidity until late September now. Sigh. Thank goodness for AC!! It's still the best place to live, in my life anyway after 35 years a Floridian. Wishing you a good week ahead, Linda! Hugs!

Getting nails done: not for me. I pull weeds with my bare hands almost daily, so paying the big $$$ for a manicure would be insane. I do get pedicures about every six weeks because bending over to tend to my toes (and seeing what I'm doing) is harder than it used to be.

The good thing about our current humid air is that it gives body to my normally straight, fly-away hair.
