Came home on Tuesday to find the beloved Lilac Bush gone...chopped down and taken away...
Sad...but I understand. It was undermining the foundation.

Our landlady did consult with us and asked what would we like to see...a Azalea Bush and a Birdbath would be nice. She came home all giddy stating she found a pink Azalea Bush and a birdbath that matches my solar light. We will spend Sat and Sunday laying mulch for her. OH and I took these on Sunday:

Hammondsport is my happy place. Love it up there (48 miles north).
Ok, by the time this goes up (pre posting this on Wed. afternoon), I will be firmly planted with my head in the proverbial sand called work and standing outside in the pouring rain. Have a great day all. I spent Wednesday afternoon putting out more resumes.
That fire truck picture is too funny. My first thought was "perfect aim"! Definitely can understand removing something that was impacting the foundation although it was gorgeous. Hope you hear from one of the resumes you sent out, Linda!

Such a pretty Lilac Bush. What a shame it had to go but I do get that. I've planted trees or bushes too close and end up chopping 'em down. That's kind of y'all to help with the mulch. Bet it will look super once you're done.

The house our daughter and her husband bought has a lovely hedgerow of lilacs. She is dying to cut them all down. I keep whining about it. Sadly, with the windstorms, heavy rains, and snow we've had this month they didn't amount to much of anything this year. Boo.
ReplyDeleteI'm still jumping through all the hoops, but when I get done I will have a new job. It's part time and I schedule my own client appointments so set my own schedule. I'll be taking mentally disabled adults on outings. I think I will love it. I am still praying things get better for you. You have far more patience than I do.
I'm babysitting Leah today and we went out to the thrift store. Big mistake. It poured. My hair is a giant frizz ball, but she had fun so it's all good.
Hope your day has not been too horrible and that they let you stand inside.
I start my new job tomorrow (Friday). The boss was out of town and wasn't sure when he would get back and be ready for me to start. I am happy having this extra day here at home. Fingers cross that the perfect job presents itself soon, Linda. Praying for you! xo

I LOVE lilacs, and they don't grow down here. I wish I could have gotten that one and at least tried to grow it! LOL. I hate to see lilacs go away. But I do understand the foundation issue. The azalea is lovely too, and besides, you aren't going to be in that house much longer anyway, right???? Positive thinking here!!! But be sure to take your bird bath with you when you go! Those can go anywhere! Does your landlady know yet that you are planning to move? Ooops, I hope she doesn't read this. Love ya. And praying about your choices down south!!
ReplyDeleteI had to cut down part of my lilac bush last summer. My daughter was not happy, but it was impossible leaning way over the deck. The front yard looks very attractive.
