Currently...Saturday

The weather...a balmy 55*. It had rained all night. No worries, back to freezing this evening.

** I see though, the temp. has dropped a degree since I posted this 10 min. ago.

Listening to...nothing really. There is a neighbor, not sure which one, we think behind us who has been playing music for 3 days straight...all hours...it's driving me us batty.

Watching...nothing really. Tired of HGTV and their reruns.

Loving...it's Saturday and I don't have to go to work.

Meeting... fellow bloggers/friends Terri (Your Friend From Florida), Pamela (Pamela's Closed Doors...) and Barbara (My Journal Memories) for lunch at noon. Can I stop for a minute and be all fancy? Meeting at high noon for tea. LOLOL--NO, not really for tea, but for lunch. Just being silly. We are meeting at a local restaurant here in town. Terri and Pam both have to drive a distance (an hour or so). But Barbara and I both live in the same town. How cool is that? Yes, we have all have met before-my husband and I spent last Christmas (2023) with Pamela and her lovely family. Sadly, because of my work schedule, I don't get to spend much time with Barbara (or should I say, as much as I would love too). Same with Terri...well, with all three lovely people. Hoping to break this cycle.

**all beautifully made women. Just wanted to add that.

Feeling...tired...just because of the neighbor situation / the music. It is wearing thin.

Thinking...good golly, what to wear today? (if you could only see my husband and his eye rolling)

Grateful...there might be a solution to my "homelessness/ squatting" office situation. I met with one of the duty wardens and my boss yesterday again...and I have been put on a "reconnaissance" mission of sorts. LOL

Enjoying... a second cup of Maxwell House Breakfast Blend coffee. I am hungry, but I will try to hold off until noon.

Making me smile...

and lastly...just a thought, which might be true...just saying...

Wishing you all a beautiful day.

Hodgepodging...

1. At the end of every year (or at least since the mid-1970's) Lake Superior State University posts a list of words they think should be banished from the Queen's English for misuse, overuse, and/or general uselessness. You can read more about the decision-making process here, but this year's list includes-

cringe, game changer, era, dropped, IFKYK (If you know you know),
sorry not sorry, skibidi, 100%, utilize, and period.

Which of these words/phrases do you use regularly or even just every now and then? How many did you have to look up? Skibidi Which of these words would you most like to see banished from everyday speech and why? Is there a word/phrase not on the list you'd like to add? If so do share, then tell us why.

I usually don't say any of those words...I usually say "wow" because there isn't a day that goes by something at work flabbergasts me. I would like to see the "f" word abolished. You know the word and it ain't fudge. LOL

2. Your favorite soup? Do you make this one yourself or is it from a can?

I like Beef and Barley and make my own...but I usually make vegetable beef / hamburger soup and add barely to it. LOL

3. How do you feel about winter? OK, it has been darned right cold here the last few days...and I am over it. Although, I so like wearing sweaters and a jacket--today I will have to wear a scarf and gloves because of the cold. What's one winter activity you look forward to? Hmm...have to think on that one.

4. The Pantone color of the year for 2025 is mocha mousse (sample pictured here). What say you? The website describes it as 'a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nourishes us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort'. Is this a color I might find in your home or wardrobe? I really like this color and have a few clothing items that have that color. I am personally trying to get away from decorating my house in this color because my husband prefers neutral colors such as this. Is it one you might add in some big or small way in the year ahead? No.

In a similar, but not really vain...if I were to offer you a choice right now of either a cup of mocha or a cup of mousse which would you say yes to? Cup of mousse

5. Which of the following winter related idioms can best be applied to your life in some way right now? Choose one, then tell us why you chose it.

snowed under, on thin ice, tip of the iceberg, chill out, break the ice, snowball effect, not a snowball's chance in hell, get cold feet, the cold shoulder

Well, after yesterday's meeting, not in a snowballs chance in hell of getting my own office or any office. There is simply not a place for me. And actually, not sure where I will be holding the start of literacy classes next week (yes, there are adults out there who cannot read, especially in prison). I shall remain squatting wherever. At least I will be out of Alpha dorm next week...and probably end up in the resource room which really is more like a broom closet for a temporary office (has 3 computers). After this disappointing news, I have come to grips with it, as I knew deep in my heart this was the outcome--I just needed it confirmed by my boss who is working diligently to get me my own space or a space to just relax and do the gobs of paperwork.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

As previously said, I am over this cold. Tomorrow/tonight's low is supposed to be 25*. I'll be complaining soon over the humidity/summer. The high has only been like 50*...just a bit tad cold since I have to walk to Alpha dorm---soon that will change.
